Oh my goodness. I stopped in here while on the way home to Redding, based on prior Yelp reviews. They do not lie. The food here is sublime. I got a fajita quesadilla and it was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. It was so huge that I took half home. My sister tried it and wants to go to Red Bluff so she can eat here! We found this newly opened place by accident while exploring some of the downtown businesses and were not disappointed. The food was exceptional, deliciously and freshly prepared to order. It is no refreshing to have food brought to your table that is piping hot for a change. The staff was so very attentive, friendly, and efficient. We enjoyed everything that we ordered; Pollo La Crème and Pollo La Diablo. Our waitress even surprised us with a house made cactus salsa which was exotic and delicious. Food, service, and ambiance of the place is stellar. The coherence between these three elements is so indicative of the attention to detail every ingredient receives. Upon arrival we were immediately accommodated and cared for. Chips and salsa come as a starter and for our wait complementary deserts were offered. We weren't even aware that our wait for our main dishes was excessive. We had the carnitas and pollo a la crema for lunch and both dishes blew us away. We wanted a quick bite to eat on our road trip to Oregon but didn't want fast food. We found this place on Yelp (thanks Yelp reviewers) and very glad we did. We had to park in the back alley area of the street and had to wade thru big rain puddles (it was pouring rain when we got there). But it was definitely worth it. My husband and I both chose the ala carte shredded beef tacos. The tacos were generously stuffed with flavorful tender meat. We were glad we didn't get the beans and rice combo because we were stuffed after two tacos each. Service was friendly and quick. I just recently moved here from Bakersfield who had some of the best Mexican food....I've been extremely disappointed with the 6 other Mexican restaurants I've been too. Some inedible. Kaloca's is a hidden treasure on Main St in Red Bluff. My combo lunch of a Chili Rellano and Chili Verde enchilada was heaven on earth! I've eaten Chili Rellano all over the Western States and this one was the best I've ever had--the whole Poblano Chili stuffed with a wonderful cheese coated and fried in a thick egg batter and covered with an amazing rich sauce that made the dish a delight. The enchilada was stuffed with big chunks of pork cooked in a thick, rich salsa verde and coated with the same tasty sauce. If you appreciate great Mexican food--try Kaloca's Mexican Grill at 607 Main Street, Red Bluff--you won't regret it!! read more

Then drove 5 hours to buy a new car and got scammed, on my way back home got hungry and was in the mood for some mexican food and found this place and let me just say.. Thank god this place is 3 hours away from my house otherwise I for damn sure would be 600lbs Service was also amazing and the best mexican food I have ever had in my 17 years and 87 days on this planet. One of the best Chile Relleno's I have ever had, not a frozen, premade one but homemade, a big, beautiful Chile packed with cheese and covered in a exquisite sauce, perfect. Great food!!! I love tacos so I tried one of each. All were so good with what tasted like house made corn tortillas. Carnitas were the standout which, to me, is the sign of an excellent Mexican restaurant. Fish tacos were also delish, fresh grilled fish with a fun sauce. All served with plenty of fresh lime.
