I've been seeing Dr.Kashfian due to an accident where I chipped my front teeth. He ended up doing veneers from canine to canine and also advised a mouth guard to help with TMJ symptoms from the impact. The veneers came out beautiful and both Dr.Kashfian and his assistant were wonderful! I had an easy time booking appointments and liked that they would remind you the day before. I just got my mouth guard today and was so surprised with the outcome. It's low profile and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back for future dental care. Not recommended. I should have done more research on this dentist rather than trusting the overall rating. As a new patient, I do have a couple of questions and the receptionist was rude and unhelpful and would not answer any of my questions. I waited for 2 hours even though there were no other patients and when it was finally my turn, I shared with the dentist my purpose of visit (cleaning and check for cavities) He mentioned that the crown is broken, which I now read that he seems to scam/upsell so many of his patients on. Dr. Kashfian has been my dentist since I was a kid (over 25 years now). The dental hygienist, Peggy, has also been working at his office since I was a child, so every time I go it's like seeing family. She is lovely & will give you a great deep cleaning. Dr. Kashfian always makes sure the cost of my dental work is reasonable & affordable. I once had to get a root canal that my insurance didn't fully cover and left me with a large co-pay. I paid for it with a Care Credit payment plan, which ended up being very cost effective. When I was younger I had a lot of cavities and had almost all of my back molars filled. Even then, I was never afraid to go to the dentist because they have always made my dental work easy & as painless as possible. As an adult, I take better care of my teeth and have only needed touch-ups on my fillings. I still see Dr. Kashfian consistently every 6 months to have my teeth cleaned and checked. I refer all my friends and colleagues to him. I highly recommend Dr. Kashfian if you're looking for a trustworthy dentist who won't rip you off or make you get unnecessary dental treatments. So I have deltacarehmo I had called the receptionist to get an appointment for me and my 3 kids she stated she had no record that I was assigned to their office. I even called my hmo and did a 3 way phone call to verify that I was assigned to their office and she kept saying that there is nothing she can do to service me and the children and that she looked us up by name and still could not see me as covered therefore she refused. The hmo rep stated To me on the phone and I am listening while my insurance rep is telling the receptionist that I was in fact assigned to their office and the hmo rep sent even sent a fax and the receptionist still kept lying we were not assigned. The deltacarehmo rep even emailed me the verification and the receptionist lied again that I was not assigned and just hung up . I even provided verification she still refused to service me and my family. If this office lies about appealing imagine how many lies they tell u about your treatment so they can make money off of you it's sad and pathetic if ur gonna discriminate or lie it doesn't demonstrate professionalism or a sincere care for patients or potential patients and this experience defiantly shows this dental office does not have any kind of integrity read more

I am pretty much terrified of dentists but I have a tooth that's been hurting and had to choose a dentist. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Kashfian from the wonderful reviews, and they are well-deserved! From the first time I phoned the office I was treated with exceptional kindness and compassion from the girls in the front office (who are even more delightful in person). When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted warmly and taken in immediately by Dr. Kashfian himself, who is so warm and friendly I was immediately at ease. He chatted with me and then ordered xrays which were taken efficiently and effortlessly by his very friendly xray tech. Dr Kashfian has been an amazing dentist for me. I've been seeing him for the past 7 years and he is always knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. These are the 3 qualities I always look for in my doctors. Also I've been to other dentists who are very "salesman like" and Dr Kashfian is NOT. He always tends to my dental health needs but his pricing is reasonable. And his assistant Peggy is also great! Such a sweet, kind, and thorough dental hygienist. Note that they accept Delta Dental HMO, *BUT* your first visit is x-ray only and they refuse to schedule your cleaning until the x-ray has occurred. I explained my scenario but they were unwilling to schedule me for a cleaning in advance (which seems bizarre - like they would running your insurance to see what it would cover in between to suggest procedures going forward?). The receptionist noted that they are going on vacation in June and July (2018), so even if I did x-rays next week, it may be August before I could have a cleaning. This is really terrible for a first time patient, and also felt shady, so I cancelled. Every other dentist I have ever used reviews x-rays with you in person and does not make you wait between x-ray and cleaning. If you are trying to get in for a cleaning this summer (2018) it's likely it won't happen. read more

I am giving 2 stars since the dental hygienist was great. otherwise it would only be one. My husband and I went to Dr Kashfian after our dentist retired and Dr K took over his patient list. Both my husband and I were told by him that we need several new crowns or replacements of old ones. I remember they were quite pricey too. He said 2 of my crowns are not sealed anymore and food gets in, and that I have a cavity on another tooth that is so bad that not enough of the tooth will be left to built a filling onto. Since this diagnosis - we saw 2 different dentist (one in Europe, one in LA,) to both we went saying that we need new crowns - and both told us that this is not the case... We could have saved us the money on the European dentist hearing this, but we didnt want to take chances after being told by Dr K there are problems that can get worse. It is very frustrating to not be able to trust a dentist, to see it is about money. Needless to say I do not recommend him. read more

However, little did I know I should've still done my research and read the reviews. The receptionist return my call, with an arrogant and unpolite tone telling me nothing about the doctor or services. It was close to my house, so I went there, going for a teeth clean. After a short exam, the dr. showed me the condition and offered a super expensive treatment that I "supposedly needed". I asked him an alternate, he said the is the only treatment, we can't do a teeth clean which was Over a few hundred bucks! I went ahead. (Big mistake) I realized later I'd been duped. I paid double what a treatment like this would cost, and this was just my co-pay. For a 90 min treatment. That in total cost $1600. I made a mistake trusting this greedy vulture of a dentist. Over the years, he has been patient with my finicky, not-so-great-at-oral-hygiene days, exceptionally generous to squeeze me in last minute when confronted with an unexpected dental snafu, and just recently, unbelievably kind when I was having insurance problems and would call me personally to give updates and offer his help in any way he can to ensure I received the best care. You just don't get that kind of dedication these days! I ALWAYS GET COMPLIMENTS ON MY TEETH. I've been going to Dr. Kashfian for 20 years, after finding him on 1-800-Dentist (I hadn't been to a dentist in five years and had just outgrown my parent's insurance.) I was convinced I might need some major work. Turns out I just needed an old filling replaced. Honestly I can't remember if I had it done on that visit or another one. Eventually all my old mercury fillings were replaced with white fillings. IS IT SAFE? Turns out the days of white lab coats and creepy antiseptic smells were long gone. He's a pain-free, gentle dentist with reproductions of Miro and Kandinsky on the walls and soothing music piped in. And he was dressed hip business casual. Don't get it twisted, he graduated from USC Dentistry. THEY CALL ME YUK MOUTH It's human nature to deny how rotten our teeth actually are and the actual costs of high-quality dental care (as is evidenced in these negative reviews). I was in denial about my receding gums, but I finally had gum-grafts done at an oral surgeon Dr. Kashfian recommended. As Dr. K predicted, the surgery saved my molars. Similarly, I didn't think I ground my teeth despite being told so on several trips. Eventually, I noticed one was down to a nub and finally got the night guard he recommended. He will never force you to get work done if you can't afford it. He will buy you some time with an alternative if you are not ready to take the plunge. So take these my-teeth-weren't-that-bad-he's-just-a-quack reviews with a grain of salt. I don't write many reviews on this site, just try to point out good places when I see them. Trust. read more

I like this dentist a lot and been seeing him since 2007. He was the third dentist I went to because the others were pricey. The last one wanted to charge me over $1200 for a deep clean. Dr. Kambiz told me that is not necessary and that I needed a regular cleaning. And been going to him ever since. Some people on here state that the deep clean (scaling) is pricey at $400 - $500. If you call around, this is the market rate including insurance paying some of it. Yes, I do see that the rate online is $125, but that may be per quadrant. Your mouth has 4 quadrants; so it adds up. As for forcing procedures, I never got this from him. I have receding gums. Thus, I have my teeth scaled every 2 years. Now we are seeing if there are other ways to prevent the problem from continuing. He never forces a procedure, just gives me the option and lets me decide. He spends about 10 minutes or so on me. In reality that is all he needs. This is enough time to assess my problem and check my gums and then instruct the dental hygienist on what needs to be done. And the dental hygienist is a gem. She cares about her work and cares about you. It is like having mom cleaning your teeth. With all of the negative reviews on here, I had to give me 2 cents on a quality Dr. read more

The dental assistant, Peggy went above and beyond to assist me in getting antibiotics for an aching tooth, while the dr was on vacation. Initially, I thought Dr Kashfian was really nice. Despite his insistence on my accepting an upsell on a porcelain crown $1000 for an upper rear molar. I needed my next payday to pay for it. Then, I decided against the porcelain crown because, I can't even see the tooth when I open my mouth. So I called and asked the receptionist to advise on the copay/cost of a basic crown, for a root-canaled tooth. After being on hold a couple minutes, Dr. Kashfian got on the phone. He said, "I will only put a porcelain crown on that tooth! If you want something else, call somebody else and have them do it!" RUDE. My 1st impression was 100% incorrect. MY NEW DENTIST ADVISED AGAINST A PORCELAIN CROWN, based on the fact that I grind my teeth. I'd like to thank Kashfian for being so rude. He saved me $600. read more

Dr. Kashifian has been my dentist since 2002 and I couldn't be happier. My teeth and gums are in better condition then when I first came to his office- thanks to his care! In fact, I just had a small surface area decay begin- first one in over 9 years!!! He's always been honest with me, explains prices, he has a good sense of humor... I feel safe with him and think he has a good approach to gum and teeth health. I am in love with Peggy as well- she is a good person and VERY Meticulous at cleaning teeth! She's very mindful and checks in quite a bit to make certain I am okay. Due to my genetics- my gums so need some extra help. I have a deep clean every 2 years and I am glad Dr. Kashfian has suggested it... Yes, at first I wasn't sure it was necessary (till I spoke to my mom- she felt it was best) so I tried it and I actually felt the difference and could see the difference. He asks and listens carefully to any issues I may be having, he's always very clear about what needs to be done and what it will cost me, and he does great work. One of the worst dentists I've been to. He tried to scam me for $3,000 to provide a sleep apnea testing device. Even though I asked him and he agreed that there's no OOP cost to me or my insurance. Coming from Brooklyn, I had heard all about Dr. Kashfian's fantastic dental surgery. I came in today with a few issues that have plagued me for a while and Dr. Kashfian resolved most of them for me with his careful arm and cheered me up with his sweet smile (I wonder who his dentist is!) Anyhoo- I decided to ask Dr. Kashfian to replace one of my teeth with a 14ct tooth - it's the rage in Brooklyn (especially where I live) and he kindly obliged even though I was his last patient and he was closing for the day.
