I've been going to Serenity Spa & Lash Decor for so long I'm not even sure! Maybe ten years? Eight? All I know is I'm a pain in the butt and I have never, not even once, had a bad experience here. I get my manicures from the incredibly gifted artist Fannie and for lashes I have my favorite technicians, but if they're not available when I want to come in I don't worry. Everyone who works there is top notch. Truly. I have never had a reason to complain. And I'm a complainer by nature! There has just never been a single thing to complain about. Serenity Spa and Lash Decor is truly such a hidden gem. I have been a customer for decades and am always delighted with my services. I do hard UV gel for nails and they do a better job than anyone. It's hard to find this technique but it's getting more and more popular. Dina is amazing!! And gentle. For lashes -- I love natural synthetic mink and they do such a gorgeous job. Eva and Sophie have been my go to gals. I hesitate to even share my obsession with this incredibly cozy, clean oasis of beauty. It's already busy and beloved--- don't swarm it ladies! lol. They're kind to older folks & pregnant women-- and I often bring my daughters and they're nonjudgmental and enjoy the babies!! Run don't walk! But book ahead! Ok, so my first time at this place with the lashes went great. The last two times I've left with super sore, reddened eyes and lines in the whites of my eyes where the tape/pad/whatever was scratching my corneas. Coincidentally, the last two lash visits were with the same lash tech. The idiot at the front desk will stand there and tell you "the redness will fade within 30 minutes" as she hands you a $200 receipt. It doesn't. This is my second rodeo with this particular lash tech. ***Word to the wise, if they send you to the lash pod all the way in the back on the right-hand side, don't do it. Wait for someone else.*** I've been getting my lashes done for years and this experience and the last one with this particular lash tech are the only ones that have been absolute torture during and after. PS- the lashes only last two weeks. No, it's not just me. Today and two weeks ago whilst there, I overheard two other ladies inquiring about what type of glue they used because their lashes didn't last long either. I been getting lashes for years about 6 years first when I went the lady Winnie pushed me to get their "super silky" because its softer .. as soon as she started i knew it wouldn't be good but didn't expect THIS! she kept walking away then talking on her phone then all I felt was her tugging on my lashes since she glued them all together!!!! not only did she ruin my own lashes this is the WORST job ever and it took over 2.5 I asked them to remove it and give me a refund but they do not give refunds instead offered to fix but this is unfixable. read more

I dropped into Lash Decor on Saturday afternoon before a formal holiday event after making a last minute appointment Saturday morning. Lash Decor was very nice over the phone in finding me the earliest appointment possible. I'm always a little skeptical of places without a lot of yelp reviews, but took the chance because of the time constraint - no other salons I called had availability that day. I forgot to ask what the name of the girl was who did my lashes, but she was phenomenal! I had a full natural set done in under an hour, and this was the first time I had lashes done where there were no irritating fumes whatsoever. They were also very generous in notifying me about the current promotion. For comparison, I have been getting my lashes done for the past 6 months in various salons/cities due to travel/moving, and I expect around a little bit of redness from fumes for a few hours at best. Got powder nails and they cracked within 4 days, and chipped pretty bad on the 5th day. So I went in to show them what happened and to get them fixed. They said there was only a 3 day window to get them fixed and that I would have to pay for a new job. No thanks - I'm not going to pay for another crappy job. This review is for the 86th Street location. They used way too much glue on my eyelash extensions. At the base of the extensions are awful clumps of glue and lash that poke into my eyelid. Really confused as to why they have such a high rating. I usually go to JJ Lash and I've never had a problem with discomfort from the glue. When applied correctly, you can't even feel lash extensions or the glue. This is not my experience with Lash Decor. Can't wait to get these heavy, stabby extensions off my eyes. read more

Waiting time (when you have appointment) is 1-5min Girl who was doing lashes for me is nice but little bit slower . It took her one and a helf and I was kind a in a rush . This place is difficult to rate because one tech, Sidney, I got 5 star flawless eyelash extensions but with the next tech, Deska, I got a barely one star, terrible job. With Sidney my lashes were even and stayed on for a month. She knows what looks good and works quickly. It's a hike and a half for me to get there but for Sidney it's worth it. The negatives come in because Sidney is unfortunately unavailable for a while. I was told Deska is taking all her clients. You'd think that an amazing tech's replacement would at least come close. Nope. I got my maintenance this morning and a quarter of them already fell out, making the unevenness of the remaining ones stand out even more. Though more than half my extensions were still on it took longer to do the maintenance than put on a new set with Sidney and I didn't even have time to really inspect the work quality there. I called and they said they'd fix them. If they even have an appointment with someone other than Deska (only appointment available on the website), that means I'm traveling from Staten Island to the UES just hours before I need to have presentable lashes for an event. I am sorely disappointed with the inconsistency. Until Sidney comes back I don't think I'll find myself back here. read more

Horrible horrible place, after roping you in with their half off,they upsale you ugly, synthetic lashes that are too big for your eyes. I've been getting lashes for years and needed a new place after moving up to the upper east side. The lashes mostly fell out after 3 days and stuck my eyeball on the inner lid. The individual lashes are so thick and fake looking I kept sunglasses on for a week until I could waste more time to get them removed :(. And they are over priced. Shame on you guy :( read more

I booked online for a dramatic set. My lashes came out amazing- I think Winnie was my technician. The room is quiet and the beds are separated by curtain dividers for privacy. I later learned you can get a manicure/ pedicure DURING your lash appt which is a HUGE time saver. Additionally when I went back about a month later to remove my lashes (I didn't want to get a fill) I didn't have an appt, but they squeezed me in which was much appreciated. Worst lash experience. I've been getting extensions consistently for more than two years but just moved and needed to find a new place. Not only do the lashes look totally synthetic, my technician was very visibly ill, coughing, wheezing and severely congested. She didn't wash her hands, wear a mask or put on gloves and while I didn't say anything and tried to be understanding, this was the first time in two-plus years that I ended up with red and swollen eyelids for a week following the service. Then, of course, the lashes fell out almost immediately. I am extremely disappointed and most certainly won't be returning. read more

I've been coming to lash decor for mink eyelash extensions for about two months now. I get the mink set and they always look amazing. I've been getting them done by Aileen who is always super friendly, professional and a perfectionist. The staff at the front desk is also very approachable and accommodating. Aileen takes her time, she pays attention to detail and crafts your lashes to match your face. My lashes are always beautiful and never took too exaggerated. They're just enough to be noticed and I get tons of compliments. I get refills every two weeks and my lashes tend to last pretty well. Of course a few fall out here and there and they sometimes go in different directions the closer I get to refill time. Other than that, I am always extremely pleased when I leave lash decor. I've been to Amy and Alice for eyelash extensions and they are both wonderful. The service is great and my lashes look terrific. I have pretty long and full natural eyelashes so I can be really particular and picky, but they do a terrific job and the place is so clean and welcoming. I usually fall asleep during the appointment and then they even give you a quick back rub as you're finishing up. Truly a nice neighborhood spot and they're so sweet and friendly. First of all, I have been doing eyelash extensions for the past four years in different places... so I'm pretty acquainted to the process. I recently moved to the UES and decided to look for a new place near home. The service was alright and my lashes looked "ok" ... but they fell within the first week. Months later, I decided to give it a second try (when my place in the LWS had not availability) - thinking that maybe I would get a better esthetician this time around. The second time was the WORST! Not only did I noticed how dirty the place really is (or at least the room where I was). The esthetician coughed, sneezed, rubbed her eyes multiple times... and she didn't wore gloves! I could smell the glue constantly... the process was so uncomfortable, that many times I was thinking on stopping her and leaving the place. At the end, she picked lashes from my face with her hands! I don't know how this happened, but two eyelashes got INSIDE my eye... which took me 10 minutes to get out- leaving my eyes irritated from the amount glue that she put. The end result; horrible, fake-looking "natural, super silky mink" lashes (these are the expensive kind). I will not be giving this place a third chance for sure! read more

I don't even want to give this place one star. DO NOT GO HERE. The technician put so much glue on my eye and in such a sloppy manner that my eyes had a horrific reaction. I have an infection in one eye because she must not have washed her hands. It's disgusting. I didn't even get my money back. They CHARGED ME to have the horrible lashes and glue removed. And they didn't even get all of the excess glue off my eye lids. If you want to have beautiful lashes and not leave with an infection and terrible irritation, go elsewhere. read more

This is the go-to spot to get your eyelashes. Last Saturday was the first time going to Lash Decor and I absolutely love this place. Alice is the best. Not impressed. This was my second time getting eyelash extensions (first time at lash decor) not only was the tape in my eye the whole procedure, but the extensions were not applied well. The first time I ever got eyelash extensions I had them done at a resort for only $35, they turned out better than what I had done at lash decor for more than double the price ($78 for new customers.) I've had the extensions for less than a week and they are already falling out. read more
