Babas on Meeting continues to be my favorite Babas location. It has the most space, the ambiance is nice, especially with the outdoor area, and parking is more accessible than the other locations. Not to mention Goat Sheep Cow is a great addition if you need some delicious bread or pepper jelly jam! The service is always friendly and quick. They do get busy on the weekends and during lunch but it's only because they are so popular because it's really good! I always get an iced matcha latte with honey, which is one of the best matchas in Charleston. The whipped honey espresso is also a fan favorite and it's great! My go-to food order is the whipped ricotta toast and banana bread. The banana bread has flaky sea salt on top and it's perfectly gooey and flavorful! My friend got the shrimp salad and a glass of white wine, which both looked extremely appetizing. While it's a great spot for lunch or breakfast, it's also a great spot for a drink later on in the night, with free apertivo with the purchase of a cocktail! What could be better than that. read more

Very cute restaurant- super clean, great service, and had plenty of seating! Tried the banana bread (buttered and toasted) along with the peanut drink. The banana bread was pretty tasty. It arrived warm and with a few salt crystals atop but it wasn't too too sweet. The peanut drink, however, was the complete opposite. It was super bitter and didn't have much of an espresso taste. Overall it tasted like peanuty dirt. And I like peanuts/ peanut butter too and was super excited to try it. I'd definitely come back, I'd just get a different drink instead. read more

I heard this place was quite popular so we gave it a try. I didn't get one of their viral coffees so this review may not be for you, not a ton of searing but most smaller coffee shops don't offer that anyways. Staff was friendly with explaining items in the menu but their pastry selection is limited. Only one bathroom and there was a wait at one time. Inside is pretty standard coffee shop decor and there is a small outside patio. read more

This place is very cute. The staff are so friendly and helpful! Our cashier went through most of the menu and the history of babas with us! The matcha was good but the chai was delicious! The best chai i've had in Charleston. We also got the breakfast taco and avocado toast. Avocado toast was delicious. The breakfast taco was average, but not bad. Would get the avocado toast again but would pass on the breakfast taco next time. There is plenty of street parking and they have a small parking lot. There are no outlets indoors but they do have outlets outdoors for the summer. Their wifi wasn't working while I visited but they do have free wifi available (if it's working). read more

Really cool location. Inside there's a shop with tons of cheese and tinned fish and other pantry items. Really fun to look around. I ordered the iced peanut mocha and my mom got the iced whipped honey espresso. Both were so good. The peanut milk is so unique I haven't seen many other coffee shops do that. It almost tasted like a chocolate milkshake. I tried my mom's whipped honey espresso and it was amazing. If I came back I would probably order that. read more

Really wish I could give a better rating here. I love that they have 1 dollar espresso when you get it in Babas. However. 12 dollar plus tip for a singular piece of toast with cheese is slightly egregious. If they make it two piece of toast would definitely put 5 stars. read more

This place is cute. We stumbled upon this place on our way to dinner but decided to stop in and grab a drink. It did not disappoint. The vibes are very "French cafe". The inside feels intimate and cozy. The cocktails are yummy and strong. Did I mention they have Greek wine on rotation right now? (My favorite!). Our bartender was friendly. So glad that we stopped here en route to Magnolia Plantation. It was nice to be in a more local less touristy spot. We found street parking close by. Order at the register and food is delivered to you. Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching panini sandwiches and salads being prepared. In fact, my husband was mesmerized by the pistachio parmesan salad that we returned that same evening to the Cannon street location for dinner! Our late breakfast included a grilled cheese served with crunchy salt on top, avocado toast served on thin crostini type bread ( my new fav version), overnight oats. The oats are prepared with pecan butter in a parfait fashion on a plastic cup along with apples and oat milk. Abit dense for us so I requested a bowl so I could take some out, add more oat milk and some simple syrup. ( all available at the self serve bar along with regular and almond milk too) All were fabulous. This location offers an impressive cheese , caviar, pasta, and other gourmet foods. read more

Love both babas locations! Would recommend ordering on the app (if you're a regular) so you can rack up points and don't have to wait in the often long lines! I come here probably twice I week for the breakfast tacos. They have figured it out! This cafe is extremely European and every menu item is extremely well done! Some of my favorites are the egg and potato tacos (10/10), the avocado toast, and the banana bread! The only thing on the menu that for me was not a hit was the deviled eggs. I was missing some flavor in them. The staff is incredible and kind, they seem to always be packed but moving through orders quickly! Definitely a must go! read more

Ambience is an A+. It's a bar/cafe and small grocery for charcuterie type things. Also a wonderful courtyard area to sit outside. The whole place is very upscale. If you go at happy hour on Fri or Sat you get free appetizers with purchase of a drink! They've got some great and tasty stuff there. The espresso did not blow my mind but it was still pretty good and everything else about this place is so excellent that I still give 5 stars. I've heard so many things about Babas and finally got the chance to come. I finished off the last half of my work day here on a Wednesday and it was pretty packed. I did find a table just big enough for me to plop myself down and pick back up on work. Wifi connection is strong, aromas were tantalizing, and there is quite the hustle and bustle in there to keep you active. I ordered a matcha latte and they brought it out shortly after. Tasty and simple - plus lovely customer service from the workers. I didn't get anything to eat but everything I saw from others looked so good. I will definitely be back!! read more

I was a bit confused in that I thought this was the old Butcher and Bee spot (which is the next block down and contains a similar cafe). This was probably the right choice anyway though. And it was also the right choice compared to the other Babas location. That one was cramped and chaotic; this one was slower paced but still had a nice atmosphere with a small outdoor courtyard and an indoor deli and market. I came seeking a salad, and the pistachio and parmesan salad, much the same as at the other location, was fresh to the extreme and delectable. From my perspective, it was actually good enough to divert me from eating the pile of donuts I had on me, so that was a win. I got a tea to wash it down, which I was also happy with. Other more substantial options await, but the salad itself was well worth coming back for. read more

Babas is a classic for me. You can find me there at all hours of operation I feel like. They will check off all the box's for a great coffee shop. - perfect seating, it can get really busy but somehow there is always a spot for you- not to mention they are always on top of getting your drinks to you quickly in the midst of a crowd - perfect lighting, yes I said it. I am someone who gets frustrated when I can't see my screen, some places you can't get good lighting to work on a computer, but they do anywhere and everywhere. -food A+, can't go wrong with avacado toast or a class party item recently tried their pistachio brioche bread and loved. It's unique, lots of textures but would get again. - coffee, amazing. I got the peanut mocha and it was VERY delicious. It is on the sweeter side which isn't typically something I go for but great for a treat.

Stopped in just before the new year for an afternoon coffee break. Hubby had an iced mocha and I had a warm chai latte. It's a cute little shop, that shares space with a meat market. Love the atmosphere and coffee! I was working and reading at a 4 top - the only table available. I was approached by a worker to move to a 2 top or the bar to free up room, which makes sense but neither were open so I was forced to leave the establishment with a meeting in 5 minutes which I did in my car. Totally understand I was taking up a 4 top, but I would've appreciated being told that IF there were other seating options available. Probably won't be back. read more

stopped by with a few friends for a quick lunch and the food was amazing! staff was friendly and we got served quickly. i got the avocado toast with the jammy eggs on the side and it was perf. the sourdough bread was perfectly toasted and avocados were ripe. the eggs were also super yummy. i also got the peanut mocha and was blown away! it wasn't too sweet (which i loved), but i could still taste the nuttiness of the peanuts and it mixed so well with the richness of the mocha. they also had a wide assortment of cheeses, meats, pasta, wine, bread, etc. inside. definitely a place i'd recommend to anyone looking for a small bite to eat in charleston! read more
