While I understand it was close to closing time, I find it hard to believe they had absolutely no bread available. It seemed more likely that the employee didn't want to make another sandwich since he was already counting the register for the night. What bothered me most wasn't just being told they were out of bread--it was the lack of acknowledgment, the rude interaction, and being denied service while the restaurant was still open. After I left, I called the store and tried placing an order over the phone. This time, I was told it would take about 15 minutes to make more bread. I said that was fine, but then the employee stumbled over his words and quickly changed it to, "I'm sorry, I mean an hour." The inconsistent explanations only reinforced my impression that they simply didn't want to serve another customer before closing. If making sandwiches 20 minutes before closing is an inconvenience, then perhaps this isn't the right job for that employee.

Born in Brooklyn, raised in Westchester and I live there today. I say this as it gives me some standing in determining what is, and is not, a "New York Deli" and this place is not. Anything other than the corned beef and pastrami at this place is frankly sub par and I assume the CB and Pastrami are only good because they get it shipped in. The first sign of any good NY deli is the bread - and theirs is basically grocery store quality. It falls apart in your hand. Same with the bagels - if Lenders hadn't gone under I would guess they were buying them straight off the shelf. The second sign of any good (non-Kosher) NY deli is the bacon - specifically is it cut right and is it cooked properly? No to both. This stuff is store bought bacon cooked by folks who clearly do not know how to use a grill top. Another sign of a good NY deli is good smoked fish: lox and whitefish at a minimum. They dont have whitefish and their lox is just awful. By South Carolina standards this place is above average. But if you are a native new yorker, there are two other spots in Myrtle that are far closer to being "New York Style" than this place. read more

I am from the south and married to a northerner! These people give northerner's a bad name. I have been there, was not only personally insult by both owner's because I am from the south but also, I heard insult s from Mr. K, himself in reference to Jew's. Well, you can take you and your wife's bigot opinions back to the rock you crawled out from under. The place is not properly cleaned. The grill is not clean after breakfast to lunch change over. Cutting boards are not sanitized nor cleaned on a daily basis. You don't wan t to know what's behind the counter, under them or on the side of the grille. (HEALTH HAZARD). Anyone can assemble a sandwich. Even the subway at a gas station bakes their own bread. Sad excuse for a deli. Worse excuse for a human being. I have, seen lots of sad ignorant racist but these people take the cake. If you feel that you have to bash us southerner's please take yourself back up north. No one wants people like you around. If you are looking for a lecture on how Obama has ruined this country and a mediocre sandwich, come to Kaminsky's. Seriously. If you get the older "gentleman" (and I use that word loosely) who I believe owns the place, Mike, try to avoid engaging him in conversation. He is rude and he thinks that a mediocre deli is the forum to discuss his comically slanted political views. If you want a sandwich that is as "New York style" as Red Lobster is "authentic New England" come to Kaminsky's. The bread is below average, they microwave the pastrami, their lox is obviously store bought, and the kanish is clearly store bought - and it is a brand one can get from Costco. By NY standards, this place is abysmal. By Myrtle Beach standards, below average at best. read more

Our food was out fast, that's right, hot food! The Waffle with a side of bacon was "perfect" with a flavor fantastic, cinnamon forward taste and not too sweet but well balanced, I mean you can always get sugar rush from the syrup but you don't need it. The texture was soft and pliable. The side of bacon was again "perfectly cooked", and three big pieces, so yes Granny, you can save a piece and a half in your purse for your BLT at lunch.
