    What a deal!
    Arnel D.

Yummy BBQ corn and excellent service just outside of the Dole Plantation. All sorts of flavor combinations are available and they accept credit card too!

I asked for no chili and they decided to make sure this one had tons of it!

We waited in line for 10 mins and another 10 minutes to get 2 elote without chili and 2 garlic parmesan. Tell me why they only gave me 1 garlic and 1 elote! Then when i went back to let them know they messed up my order the lady tells me that i didn't have to run up and tell her she messed up! I orderef 4... you gave me 2... and then you give me elote with TONS of chili after i specifically said i don't want any chili on it... then you have the audacity to tell me i was in the wrong for complaining about my order you messed up on! DO NOT COME HERE! THEY WILL NOT GET YOUR ORDER RIGHT AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE UPSET!

We came at the time where there was only 4 flavors and they were buy 3 get 1 free so we decided to just get 4 and try all 4 flavors- believe it was elotes, butter, chilled lime, and garlic parm. They were ok but the price was overrated, at least least was not dry though, they were sort of juicy. Wanted to try the coconut juice but they were sold out during the time we were there.

Disappointing. It's not difficult to make corn on a cob taste good, but they found a way. It must be boiled. Bland at best.

The good: Service was friendly and quick…read more The ok: Corn was a little dry and overdone. Also, I was hoping for Kahuku grown corn, but it looked like regular corn. I could be wrong about the corn they used, but I had have had better. It wasn't terrible, just serviceable. The bad: They tipped themselves with my credit card without my knowledge. They stated a total, I paid with tap. They said thank you and said it would be 7-8 minutes and so then I walked away. Initial charge showed what they stated but then I see that another 15% was added a day later. I take responsibility that I didn't stick around for the tip screen but I honestly thought our transaction was over after I tapped. I totally would have tipped as I always do but I wasn't asked as they let me walk away. They also could have just asked me verbally for a tip when I came back to pick up my order rather than take it from me. It was only a few bucks but it's the principle; you shouldn't just take from a customer without their knowledge or permission.

Service is honest, and she tells you 7min for your corn. The woman in the front is also super sweet and friendly. It's a little stand that'll bbq the corn and season for you. So simple and so good.

The ribeye is super tender and both plates have so much flavor packed into it! I tried the Braised Boneless Kalbi and it is good and super soft! But the flavor isn't my cup of tea; I prefer my kalbi to be LA kalbi style so just something to keep in mind if that's what you were expecting Each plate can easily be shared between two people which gives you more room to try other items hehe I highly recommend coming super early for his pop ups because the lines gets ridiculously long. He is always our first stop of the list because you just can't risk certain items running out! (Trust me, I had this happen to me the first time and I was a very sad camper with what was left)

Both extremely solid 9/10. If you like poke, you'll probably like it pan-fried. The spicy ahi flavor is familiar, but the change in cook method adds a different dimension. If you like shrimp, and can handle a smidge of spice, you'll probably like the Cajun version. However, the limiting factor could be location. If you're in the area, or see them at an event, try go fa sho!

Definitely worth stopping in at Seven Brothers Restaurant and or the bakery as well. Back to Mikes, You'll walk up and spot signage plus the yellow signature bus shack. I'd seen Mikes Huli Chicken on an episode of Diners Drive Ins and Dives and Guy said "the skin is as crispy as it gets next to being fried." That never left my memory. This being my next visit since seeing that episode, I had to try it. What did I order? - Mikes Huli Chicken Plate $17: 4/5 Stars - Chicken is a nice half chicken portion, perfectly juicy, nicely slight char taste. Crispy skin? Unfortunately no. - The Mac salad is nice. - Generous serving of rice *** Mikes Huli sauce is delicious! Be sure to find the self serve bottle and the to go sauce cups and get you some extra. You'll walk up and place your order at the window, pay, cash or card, then find yourself a seat. The cashier was simple and quick to the point. No small talk. The seating area within mikes truck is a decent size accommodating roughly 15 to 20 people. Outside, there additional tables as well. Overall, I'd say if you're in the area, give it a try, it will neither blow your socks off nor disappoint. Mikes is a solid Huli Chicken plate. It simply delivers satisfying meal.

Meh. I feel like the quality of Mike's has gone downhill…read more I stopped by yesterday during a trip to the North Shore to get some lunch. I got the #9 plate, which is kalua pork, huli chicken, and I got mac salad. The kalua pork meat itself was fine. Not gristly and not too fatty. However, barely any smoke taste to it and was fairly bland. The huli chicken didn't have crispy skin. It seemed lukewarm like it had been cooked a while earlier and was just sitting. The sauce is amazing and I do think it's delicious with the sauce. Rice was just rice. Meh. Even adding shoyu didn't add much flavor to it, to be honest. The mac salad is extremely bland. I don't know if they need to add some acid to the mayonnaise or more salt, but it was pasty and no flavor. I would honestly skip getting the mac salad next time and get regular salad! That's how bad this mac salad was. Two slices of pineapple on the plate were fresh and flavorful. I did enjoy these. Service was okay. I had asked if they still honored kama'aina discount and was told no. That's fine; I understand not all places offer discounts. I don't know when kama'aina discount stopped being offered, but back in the day I used to receive it when asking. I did notice though that two guys who ordered before me got a "mahalo, braddah" in a friendly tone but I got a terse "thanks." Guess haole girls don't get mahalos even if local. It's just uncomfortable when certain people get friendly, effusive mahalos and others get terse thanks, like I didn't want to be serving you food today. Maybe cause it was Mother's Day and they didn't want to be there? Sure didn't feel like 'ohana today. So many flies around, it made eating uncomfortable. A few fly fans on tables but not at the one where I was seated, so it was basically like constantly shooing away flies and trying to take a bite of food super fast before they came back on my food. Probably I should have taken my food away and gone to the beer garden nearby with fewer flies. Meh. I used to really like Mike's but I will stick to Da Bald Guy and Seven Brothers when I visit the sugar mill in the future.

We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi plates, and neither was impressive. The food came out almost instantly, which proves it is not cooked to order. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.

So our job was to take all the measurements of sliding screen doors total of six of them plus two very large windows Screens. We both got done in two hours. It was still too early to go home so we called it Pau Hana Time!!! we both needed drinks, even though it was still lunchtime, but why not we both control our own business. There is this quaint little bar nearby so we went straight there! We was greeted by two ladies, and one of them is the bartender name Kanani. She's an excellent bartender who knows how to be super friendly like if we were all best friends. She is definitely one of the main reasons why we go there often. I enjoy this little bar because of the view of the golf course. The bar itself is an open restaurant so you can feel the cool breezes of the tradewinds. I've been coming to this bar ever since the first time I started golfing, ever since the dinosaurs ruined the Earth, lmao! Just kidding! We had several beers and $15 French Fries?! You do get a decent amount even with the both of us eating it. It was very filling. It's amazing every time we go there there's always several happy people who are very friendly to talk to, and that's one of the reasons why the bar is a wonderful place for both locals and tourists to enjoy. Although I haven't eaten at the restaurant recently, I do remember when I did try the restaurant the food was very well prepared and seasoned just right. I think maybe next we come here we gotta try out their food menu!
