Oh boy, what to say about my experience with Kani Events. First off I have worked with Crichton for years as a fellow vendor and let me tell you, he is the best of the best!!! Every wedding we worked together I saw how happy the B&G were to have him in their corner. So when it came to planning my wedding, of course he was the first vendor I booked!  Kani Events were able to handle all logistics thrown their way - setting up sound at 2 separate locations for the ceremony and reception; provided sound for 2 different solo musicians and a main live band... THE GREEN! Keep in mind this was in the backyard of my family's home, so it was full hands on deck to make sure we had sufficient power & didn't blow out any circuits during the event.. but Crichton & his team were able to handle everything with ease. They went above & beyond to make sure our day went exactly how we envisioned.  Not only is Crichton very knowledgeable in his craft, he is so down to earth and personable. He really makes you feel like family! If you booked him for DJ and sound, you must book him for your MC. I love the balance he has of professionalism, helping guide the timeline throughout the night, while keeping it fun for guests in the most genuine way. When we said we wanted a rager with 300 of our closest family and friends, Kani Events understood the assignment! Crichton and his team were amazing to work with and accommodated our every request. We had a lot of different parts to our wedding and they made sure everything went without a hitch. Crichton's set up was perfect for our large outdoor venue and even though we had a lot of folks standing in the back for the ceremony, they were able to hear us loud and clear. I didn't realize how much sound equipment could make or break a wedding ceremony until we went to a few where we could barely hear what was going on. We were very thankful to have Crichton and his team! We also had a family friend do live music for our reception and Crichton was very organized and brought in equipment that they were able to hook up to. The sound transitions (and I'm guessing equipment transitions to different areas around the venue) from our ceremony to our cocktail hour to our reception, between our playlists and the live music were so seamless, I didn't even notice what they did... :D Just that no matter where we were in the day, the music and mics were on point for what was happening at that time. :) Crichton made sure our entire program ran sooo smoothly with his expert MC skills. We had a bit of a lengthy one, with games, speeches, a bonzai, and a shot toast from the bride and groom. Throughout the night, he added little quips here and there, playing off of the speeches and games. He was so personable, yet professional, that all of our guests, young adults and elderly, loved him. As many times as you may review the timeline, other things always pop up! We love how Crichton was also super flexible in making spur of the moment announcements as needed without interrupting the flow of the program. The music throughout the rest of the night was perfect. Kani Events kept the energy of the crowd going and let their music choices speak for themselves. They even worked with my husband when he said he wanted to do a spontaneous karaoke moment to sing Angel by Shaggy to me in front of the entire group. The dance floor was PACKED. We really had our dream wedding rager that we always wanted and we are still getting stellar reviews about how much of a great time everyone had thanks to Kani Events. All that being said, Crichton has been a longtime family friend of my husbands. He DJ'd and did the sound for my husband's grad party in 2009 as well as my sister in law's wedding many years ago. They both speak so highly of him and how not only is he a talented DJ and emcee, but a great human being. It was our honor and pleasure to work with him. We found Perfect Wedding DJs on Instagram while searching for vendors for our Oahu destination wedding. Off the bat, we loved the fact that the company encompassed all the services we needed- DJ, MC and an officiant. While my (now) husband was not able to join the initial consultation call with Crichton, I immediately felt confident that they were the vendor to go with-Crichton was super nice, personable, and professional. He asked me questions that made me not feel like just another "number" but a respected client. While he did mention that he personally wasn't available to officiate & MC for our wedding date, he assured us that we would have an amazing officiant, MC, and of course, DJ. The team at PWDs s was very organized and helped us keep on top of deciding songs for the ceremony and reception. I like that they created a google sheet that outlined everything we needed to think about, months out! Chris, our DJ, was also amazing to work with, and totally understood our vibe and vision for what kind of celebration we wanted to have. While there were changes to our officiant and MC close to the wedding date (1.5 month out,) we trusted the process and the team delivered! We couldn't have imagined a better person than Kelehua to officiate. We loved that she incorporated Hawaiian and Filipino traditions into our ceremony, which meant so much to us. We hired Crichton for our destination LouLu Palms wedding as our DJ and Officiant and he was beyond expectations. From our first video meeting he had the exact vibes we were looking for and was extremely personable, fun, professional, and clearly experienced. As a DJ, he created the BEST dance party of our dreams. He played all the songs we requested but also mixed in other songs that kept the party going. We had the Perfect Wedding DJs as our DJ and sound for our Loulu Palm wedding and they were amazing! Besides some hiccups due to our complicated setup (see below), everything went off without a hitch - Crichton was very attentive to our song and music requests, even playing a song we mentioned off-hand in a speech as the perfect closer to our dance party! Highly recommend. Our setup was a bit complicated as we played electric guitars for a "first jam" instead of a first dance. We confirmed with Crichton in our initial call that he could provide two mics for us, and that we'd be able to plug in both guitars' aux cables. Closer to the event, another staff member suggested this would cost extra, but Crichton clarified that based on our previous verbal agreement it was included. The day of, we realized Crichton didn't have a distortion filter on his soundboard (needed for the Green Day punk song we played) - luckily we had brought a mini headphone amp that had distortion and Crichton was able to route the output through his soundboard. All that to say, Crichton and everyone are very flexible and accommodating to the best of their abilities, but if you have something nonstandard, clarify exactly what you need in writing - ideally in the contract. read more

If we could give The Perfect Wedding DJs 10 stars, we would in a heart beat! Crichton was our wedding MC/DJ and we couldn't have asked for anyone better to help us celebrate our special day. My now husband and I vibed with Crichton from our very first Zoom meeting (we're from CA) and now we feel like we have a friend for life! We told him that we wanted one big dance party for our wedding reception and he definitely came through. We basically gave him free range over the dance music and he knew exactly what to do. Everyone was on the dance floor (even our grandparents!) and it was epic when Crichton joined in on the dancing, too.
