Food was good and late night happy hour was great BUT.....service was horrible....took over 15 mins before our server came to the table...server missing in action much of the night, watched server wait at the bar for drinks to be made then brought them over...looked like our server only had a couple tables but was never around....food and a good bartender made up for it, I'll still go back especially for happy hour. Great place, nice vibes and good food. Service is a bit slow but not bad. On some days they have a dj set up to play music it's a nice vibe. The bang bang shrimp is my all time go to! Happy hour prices are great! They have indoor and outdoor seating along with a bar and sushi bar... I do have to say the bathrooms were disgusting every time I've gone there.. it's always smelly and last time I went there was throw up in the sink and the toilets weren't flushed........... My friends and I have been going here ever since they opened but when we went there yesterday it was horrible. I don't know if it's under new management but the food quality and service went down. They removed the side dishes that comes with the bbq they only gave us ginger that comes with the sushi and when we asked the waitress she said it changes all the time. The worst part was towards the end of our meal our bbq popped- thank goodness we were not hurt. The waitress did not come by- she sent the busboy over- he was nice and asked if we were okay- we asked he turn off the gas. Later on another gentleman came over and turned on the gas and we protested explaining what just happened. Then instead of apologizing he just said they put in the grill wrong. And walked way. That is horrible- did not offer any kind of apology. Will not be coming back. Such a shame because we eat there at least once a month. read more

Fun experience! Server could of elaborated more about directions and sauces considering I told her it was our first time. We had the lobster spicy chicken filet and vegetables. I ordered to go while in north lauderdale the hostess told me 10-15 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and waited another 30 minutes. The entire order was wrong and the hostess argued with me when I KNEW she wasn't going to get it right then tried to charge me $32 for sushi pieces therefore said give me white rice and I'll do it myself. Seems like Kanpai has taken over the Ninja Spinning Sushi place next door. We love this place. It's so much for to sit at the spinning sushi bar where fresh sushi, rolls, and kitchen dishes come floating by and everything tastes delicious. Since you don't need to buy an entire roll, you get to sample a lot of different dishes. Happy hour is especially fun since the dishes are specially priced. The only issue I have is that many of the rolls have cream cheese but they are fairly easy to spot (and avoid if you choose.) This is not an issue as much with this restaurant, but with sushi in South Florida in general. As a transplanted New Yorker, this concept is a new one to me that I've only seen in sushi places down here. Overall, this has become the only sushi place that we go to now because of the quality, price, and experience. Highly recommend! read more

Horrible dining experience-Ordered a large meal with family visiting from out of town. My nephew ordered a raman dish and as he got to the bottom he found a good size dead spider with 3 or 4 legs left. He was instantly repulsed and we called the waitress over and asked for the manager. Was told the manger was not there, so we asked for the owner who they said was also not there. I asked for the owner and mangers card Then a guy shows up and say hes the manager gives me a card--wrong name on it. --We expressed our extreme displeasure with the situation and were told he was sorry and that he would take that dish off and take off 20% off the meal. Considering entire party was absolutely grossed out by this and the fact that my nephew had more than likely ingested a good portion of this arachnid, I was unhappy to say the least. He said he would contact the owner and get back to me. Come to find out via the hostess that he WAS the owner. I was floored. He then accused us of bringing in the spider and putting it in the food in an attempt to extort a free meal. He then threatened to call the police when I starting raising my voice and I invited him to. Needless to say several other patrons at this point were curious to see what was happening. The owner of this place has to be the DUMBEST business owner I have ever met. My girlfriend who was with us owns 2 restaurants in ft lauderdale and sunrise and could not believe what was happening at this place. We were all floored and absolutely disgusted. After seven, the higher end rolls pass the Pepsi challenge with any place in broward or palm beach. The staff is always great.
