Strawberry ice cream crepe
Wilson L.

Parking: Wakaba Crepe is located in a small strip mall with Nijiya Market and Red Rock. Parking can get a bit crowded but I am usually able to find a spot without much difficulty. Interior: The store is very small. There is a small waiting area with a single tall round table and a bench to the side to sit on. Service: You place your order at a kiosk off to the side. There is almost no interaction with the employees except for them handing you your order. Food: They have a variety of premade flavors or you can build your own crepe. Unfortunately a bunch of ingredients were unavailable. I got the strawberry ice cream crepe. The crepe was actually very soft and fluffy. Most of the crepe places that I have been to make it either too thin or overcook it. Overall, the crepe was delicious. It is a bit pricey but I would probably come back again if I was in the area.

My wife discovered this Japanese crepe place. They use a gluten-free flour, which gives the crepes a unique flavour and texture. I tried the matcha Dubai chocolate, because I might as well combine today's hottest trend with yesterday's! LOL! Very tasty, not too sweet. The crepes are handheld, so they're not the easiest to eat. Also, at around $12 each, a little pricey. The interior is clean but tiny, so this is more of a grab-and-go place, than a sit-and-eat place. It's in a strip mall, so there is plenty of free parking. You order from a kiosk, which can take a bit of time because of all the different screens you have to go through - so many choices!! Overall, an enjoyable dessert experience.

I've been to Wakaba Crepe twice now and overall, I'd say it's good, but not necessarily something I'd go out of my way for. I've tried both the Yuzu Cream Cheese Crepe and the Mango Coconut Crepe. Both were tasty, fresh, and nicely made. The flavors were enjoyable, especially if you're looking for a lighter, fruit-forward dessert. That said, neither one completely wowed me or left me craving another visit right away. What stood out more was an awkward interaction during one of my visits. I was standing nearby watching my crepe being made which I thought was part of the fun of ordering a crepe and was texting a friend while I waited. One of the employees asked if I was filming her, which I wasn't. I explained that I was just texting, but the interaction felt a little uncomfortable, and I got the sense she didn't really believe me. It created an awkward tension for the rest of the wait. I completely understand wanting to protect employees' privacy, but as a customer, I didn't think it was unusual to watch my food being prepared. It just made the service feel a bit off compared to the otherwise pleasant experience. Overall, the crepes are good, the ingredients seem fresh, and I'd be open to trying other flavors in the future. I just wish the customer interaction had felt a little more welcoming.

Custom crepe: strawberry, nutella and vanilla ice cream

Delicious japanese style crepes! I got a custom crepe with strawberries, Nutella and vanilla ice cream. My cousin got the strawberry deluxe and demolished it before I could get a picture!! This is a very small shop where you can see the entire kitchen and crepe making process from the 2 staff. You order from the kiosk and wait for your delicious creation. The crepe is soft and chewy with decent amount of filling.

Strawberry and banana

Tasty dessert crepes in a strip mall. Went for a weekday evening dessert. Ordered the strawberry banana, which comes with chocolate syrup and some cream. The fruits were fresh and it was the right amount of chocolate and cream. There isn't a lot of seating, so if you plan to eat in, you may be eating outside (luckily that was not the case this time). Would come back!

It was my first time here, I heard about Wakaba through their IG. We went here on Mother's Day for the Strawberry Bouquet crepe. What I liked about the crepe was that it wasn't too sweet and they used real strawberries. The presentation was beautiful. You order at a kiosk and then wait for your order. There's limited space inside, so most people get their order to go.

Finally got to try the Japanese crepe shop I'd been looking forward to! My top recommendation is the Mango Crepe It's gluten-free, so you can even enjoy it if you're watching what you eat! The whipped cream is light and not overly sweet--absolutely delicious. It tastes exactly like the crepes in Japan! I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Cute little place with a lot of options! Very friendly staff as well. My husband and i love gluten free crepes and i got the matcha brulee - the cornflakes were a great texture addition! My husband got the triple mix and he enjoyed it but he did say it was a bit flavorless. Even though mine tasted like matcha and was great, i could see what he meant. Mine probably needed a fruit in it too but you cant make too many changes (which i totally understand). I do want to go back and try yuzu cream cheese one. If youre in the area, make sure to stop by!

a new japanese crepe shop has opened in torrance! i was so excited to try this. we got their matcha crème brûlée and the strawberry matcha cream the matcha creme brûlée was my favorite! i really liked the cream and brûléed top. the strawberry crepe was more tangy than sweet so that one was okay. it's a cute spot and the crepes are gluten free too!

Went here for the first time. Was pretty good, I was a little confused because when you order it does not say what exactly is in each crepe (so please add that if you are able!), I ended up ordering the strawberry whipped cream crepe and the ice cream with strawberry crepe. They were pretty good, the crepes were thin and if had a lot of filling. I was looking for something closer to me that is like Millet Crepe (in Sawtelle). They are pretty comparable, but I do like the texture of the crepes better at Millet. Overall, our crepes came out quickly and the place is small but clean. I would go again to try the matcha creme brulee crepe

This is such a great dessert shop! I was looking for a good spot to get sweets and glad I found Wakaba Crepe. They specialize in Japanese style crepes with both sweet & savory options. Their crepes are gluten free as well! The aroma of crepes while it's on the griddle made the shop smell so good. I like that the store is very clean as well. They also have a variety of crepe pasta which I found to be very unique. I don't think I've seen that anywhere else, but it's such a fun way to eat crepes. They really top their crepe pasta with a lot of ingredients too like ice cream and house made creams and sauces. The crepe pastas came in strawberry, mango, blueberry and matcha. My favorite was the matcha flavor. The texture of the crepe is soft, velvety, delicate with a slight crisp. I like that the crepe itself isn't too sweet so that the other ingredients can add the sweetness to it. I would also recommend their kurobuta sausage crepe & brulee matcha crepe. They're both very delicious! The matcha flavor is so good here. They're doing Japanese crepes the right way and it's definitely a shop worth checking out if you're in the area.

Fun concept! Crepes are made fresh and served like a cone you eat with your hand. Lots of interesting flavor combination and every crepe is made fresh to order! I tried the Yuzu Cream Cheese...very refreshing. Plenty of parking on site.

The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience.

First the food size is becoming ridiculous (au gratin potatoes so small) The service is where I'm shocked, the waiting staff turnover is crazy. I was there last Sunday evening (05/24) and one of the waiter with a French accent looks like he just started that day, he was clueless about the menu, didn't know what was the soup of the day, and very inattentive to our table (water refill, empty plates...) like he just wanted our tips ! Also I'm sorry about that one but he had a foul smell like he just finished working out... the table next to us was saying the same thing. I came back on Friday (05/29)early afternoon and seen the same waiter still no refill and same foul smell Im going to try their other locations in PV or Hermosa and see if I'm lucky and they're like that location used to be

Things started off promising with our server, Destiny. She loved our dog and we appreciated that she set an outdoor table for us. But when service actually started, it all slowly went downhill. A canned drink we ordered had dirt on the lid. No big deal we thought and just requested another one. Destiny for some reason took this personally and the attitude started popping off from there. It's not like we said it was covered in rat droppings or something! She took our orders by memory and of course, an item came out wrong. Instead of apologizing, she again made it seem like it was somehow our fault. We were so put off by her attitude, we didn't even complain when the burger came out RAW. Just look at this picture. Yuck. By the time this happened, the service was so awful we just wanted to get out of here. While waiting for our check (which never came, we had to ask for it ourselves), I went on Yelp and noticed that Destiny had other terrible reviews about her! Why is she still employed here? Maybe she's the owner's daughter, which might explain why she took mistakes so personally. In any case, we were lucky enough to dissuade another party from having lunch -- they were viewing the menu, asked us how our experience was, and we were glad they were spared. Hopefully this review will stop others from the same awful experience. But there's a reason this place is empty on a Sunday when the PV Fair is going on. Just go to Good Stuff next door!

We were surprised to learn there had been a change in management, as we have enjoyed dining here many times in the past and have always had positive experiences with both the food and service. In addition, the food was very bland and dry, far below the quality we had come to expect from this location. Because we have been loyal customers over the years, this experience was especially disappointing. I am currently waiting to hear back from the owner, as I hope these concerns will be addressed. CUTE AND YUMMY Love…read morethis bright and homey cafe in the heart of Redondo's Riviera Village! Grateful my friend has a daughter who lives in town and suggested it; otherwise, I never would have noticed it. Even though it was a Sunday morning, we immediately found seats inside. Of course it was a cheery yellow interior with lots of floral accents, hence "Yellow Vase." After perusing the extensive menu at our table, we realized we had to order and pay at the counter, where they were doing a bustling business with tempting pastries and fresh java. They gave us a number to place on our table to let them know where to deliver our food. My old pal from high school (Yes, we've known each other for DECADES!), always leans towards lox for breakfast. It was no surprise that she ordered the Smoked Salmon Plate ($16.95). The salmon arrived on a fresh French baguette with capers, red onion, tomatoes and cream cheese. I like variety, so the 2 by 2 ($16.95) was right up my alley. The two pieces of French toast were homemade perfection. So were the two scrambled eggs, the two chicken sausages and the rosemary potatoes. What an ample, delicious brunch. We were too busy catching up to photograph our meal, though.
