Stopped by after shopping at the Japanese market on the same plaza. This small crepe shop was very clean, staff were friendly and efficient, and the crepes were fresh! There is no indoor seating so plan to eat it while standing or taking it to go. The price is fair and the crepes are not too sweet - very light and creamy with fresh fruit!

Was pretty excited to finally tray Wakaba Japanese Crepe. We got the Yuzu and Strawberry/Matcha. We liked the Yuzu better out of the two. The crepes were good. Made to order, but it wasn't amazing to where we'd want to go regularly. It was also a bit pricy for two crepes (~$25). Not sure I would come back, but it's not bad.

Love the crepes, it's not too sweet. I wish you can make any crepe brulee, but it was limited to the matcha option only. It is a little messy to eat, packaging could be improved but no big deal. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. However, it is a small store with only 1 table if you are planning on eating there. The staff are friendly and the attention to detail is top notch. Overall, its a great addition to the area and would love to try their other flavors!

Delicious dessert place with a fun new twist! We got the matcha and mango dessert crepe pasta - fun parfait of flavors and toppings. I definitely recommend the mango - the crepe soaks up all the bright mango and orange flavors. Everything is also gluten free! Their new crepe pastas are made from cut up crepe pieces with fruit, whipped cream, ice cream and mochi so every bite is layered and tasty. They also have really good original crepes too. Ordering is easy from the ipad especially for grab and go. Staff is super friendly and there's free parking in the plaza as well. Love supporting small businesses!

Love a good crepe, and what makes it even better is that it's not too sweet! The mangos were sooo good. Small store but very clean! Lots of parking and it took about 10 minutes for them to complete our order :)

Parking: Wakaba Crepe is located in a small strip mall with Nijiya Market and Red Rock. Parking can get a bit crowded but I am usually able to find a spot without much difficulty. Interior: The store is very small. There is a small waiting area with a single tall round table and a bench to the side to sit on. Service: You place your order at a kiosk off to the side. There is almost no interaction with the employees except for them handing you your order. Food: They have a variety of premade flavors or you can build your own crepe. Unfortunately a bunch of ingredients were unavailable. I got the strawberry ice cream crepe. The crepe was actually very soft and fluffy. Most of the crepe places that I have been to make it either too thin or overcook it. Overall, the crepe was delicious. It is a bit pricey but I would probably come back again if I was in the area.

    Strawberry matcha Mikan cream

Such a cute crepe spot in Torrance! We tried the Strawberry Matcha and the Mikan Whipped Cream crepes, and both were SO good! The crepes were fresh, light, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The servers were also incredibly sweet and welcoming! They even added a scoop of matcha ice cream on top of my Strawberry Matcha crepe, which made it even better. Such a nice touch! Definitely recommend Wakaba Crepe if you're in the Torrance area and craving a Japanese-style crepe. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors!

My wife discovered this Japanese crepe place. They use a gluten-free flour, which gives the crepes a unique flavour and texture. I tried the matcha Dubai chocolate, because I might as well combine today's hottest trend with yesterday's! LOL! Very tasty, not too sweet. The crepes are handheld, so they're not the easiest to eat. Also, at around $12 each, a little pricey. The interior is clean but tiny, so this is more of a grab-and-go place, than a sit-and-eat place. It's in a strip mall, so there is plenty of free parking. You order from a kiosk, which can take a bit of time because of all the different screens you have to go through - so many choices!! Overall, an enjoyable dessert experience.

    Strawberry and banana

Tasty dessert crepes in a strip mall. Went for a weekday evening dessert. Ordered the strawberry banana, which comes with chocolate syrup and some cream. The fruits were fresh and it was the right amount of chocolate and cream. There isn't a lot of seating, so if you plan to eat in, you may be eating outside (luckily that was not the case this time). Would come back!

I've been to Wakaba Crepe twice now and overall, I'd say it's good, but not necessarily something I'd go out of my way for. I've tried both the Yuzu Cream Cheese Crepe and the Mango Coconut Crepe. Both were tasty, fresh, and nicely made. The flavors were enjoyable, especially if you're looking for a lighter, fruit-forward dessert. That said, neither one completely wowed me or left me craving another visit right away. What stood out more was an awkward interaction during one of my visits. I was standing nearby watching my crepe being made which I thought was part of the fun of ordering a crepe and was texting a friend while I waited. One of the employees asked if I was filming her, which I wasn't. I explained that I was just texting, but the interaction felt a little uncomfortable, and I got the sense she didn't really believe me. It created an awkward tension for the rest of the wait. I completely understand wanting to protect employees' privacy, but as a customer, I didn't think it was unusual to watch my food being prepared. It just made the service feel a bit off compared to the otherwise pleasant experience. Overall, the crepes are good, the ingredients seem fresh, and I'd be open to trying other flavors in the future. I just wish the customer interaction had felt a little more welcoming.

Custom crepe: strawberry, nutella and vanilla ice cream

Delicious japanese style crepes! I got a custom crepe with strawberries, Nutella and vanilla ice cream. My cousin got the strawberry deluxe and demolished it before I could get a picture!! This is a very small shop where you can see the entire kitchen and crepe making process from the 2 staff. You order from the kiosk and wait for your delicious creation. The crepe is soft and chewy with decent amount of filling.

It was my first time here, I heard about Wakaba through their IG. We went here on Mother's Day for the Strawberry Bouquet crepe. What I liked about the crepe was that it wasn't too sweet and they used real strawberries. The presentation was beautiful. You order at a kiosk and then wait for your order. There's limited space inside, so most people get their order to go.

    Triple mix
    Danielle K.

Cute little place with a lot of options! Very friendly staff as well. My husband and i love gluten free crepes and i got the matcha brulee - the cornflakes were a great texture addition! My husband got the triple mix and he enjoyed it but he did say it was a bit flavorless. Even though mine tasted like matcha and was great, i could see what he meant. Mine probably needed a fruit in it too but you cant make too many changes (which i totally understand). I do want to go back and try yuzu cream cheese one. If youre in the area, make sure to stop by!

The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience.

First the food size is becoming ridiculous (au gratin potatoes so small) The service is where I'm shocked, the waiting staff turnover is crazy. I was there last Sunday evening (05/24) and one of the waiter with a French accent looks like he just started that day, he was clueless about the menu, didn't know what was the soup of the day, and very inattentive to our table (water refill, empty plates...) like he just wanted our tips ! Also I'm sorry about that one but he had a foul smell like he just finished working out... the table next to us was saying the same thing. I came back on Friday (05/29)early afternoon and seen the same waiter still no refill and same foul smell Im going to try their other locations in PV or Hermosa and see if I'm lucky and they're like that location used to be

We waited 15 minutes, but to his credit, he hustled a table together for us. Thus began an excruciatingly slow meal that involved a good 20 minutes' difference between the appearance of the first entrees and the last. I can't fault the server, who was literally the only one waiting on all the tables, both inside and out. The fact that anyone got fed is something of a miracle, frankly, and all due to that one server working frantically the whole time. At some point, a young woman materialized who did some light bussing. Weirdly, there was a young man who sat at the bar the entire time, except on the rare occasion when he'd saunter out and wipe down a table, only to return to his barstool. All this time, the server did the vast majority of the work and somehow managed to stay polite and even-tempered through it all. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Mostly, we were all just so very weary with waiting and waiting. We had 2 young kids with us, and we didn't leave until 2 hours and 15 minutes after our reservation time. Maybe it was an exceptionally bad night when 2 servers called in sick, because it was crazy to expect one person to cover all those tables. But it seems like a very poorly run place.

Grateful my friend has a daughter who lives in town and suggested it; otherwise, I never would have noticed it. Even though it was a Sunday morning, we immediately found seats inside. After perusing the extensive menu at our table, we realized we had to order and pay at the counter, where they were doing a bustling business with tempting pastries and fresh java. They gave us a number to place on our table to let them know where to deliver our food. My old pal from high school (Yes, we've known each other for DECADES!), always leans towards lox for breakfast.
