This place is incredibly expensive. And they have a 2 hour limit. Song list was okay, but not any different from any other Korean Karaoke place. Their sake wasn't that great and you don't really get enough sake. We had to order 3 for our group of 7 just to feel a little tipsy. There's not all that much to say about karaoke bars. They're all pretty average. It was clean and had a good selection of songs. That's pretty basic I feel. However, the pricing was a little whack. The rooms were expensive and only came with the room. There are plenty of other places that have the drinks and stuff included. I've been to Duet, Pulse and a few other random places and this has the most limited, poorly organized English song list I've ever seen. (HOWEVER, this is in the heart of K-Town, so I think it has a much more robust Korean song list, so I can't really fault it for that.) The ambiance and rooms are pretty nice (strobe lights, good acoustics) but the drink/snack selection is also very limited. (Again there are probably more Korean options that we did not see.) But the real rub is the price. It's CRAZY expensive and they don't post their rates at the front. Get a clear quote on the price for your number of people and determine your time limit. This is NOT the place to karaoke the night away. There is one upside: The place almost always has rooms available so if you need your late night karaoke fix, this is the spot. read more

So they told us the wrong rate for the private room at first, and they changed that price a couple different times throughout the night. We only stayed for 2 hours because that's all we could afford. We didn't even get our drinks until 45 minutes in. The music selection is terrible, and definitely not up to date, they're all B-side tracks from very popular artists, very disappointing. The soundtracks are recreated, not the original songs, so cheesy! The staff tried to rip us off too, demanding we pay their made-up tip, but we were not about to tip for terrible service! And don't even think about ordering food, it's not worth it, and I'm convinced they just ordered from a nearby fried chicken place and overcharged us. This is by far the worst karaoke place I have ever been to. If you are underage, don't even think about coming here! When I showed up with my friends, they told us we must spend $90 on food in order to reserve a karaoke room for an hour which was ANOTHER $90. I strongly regret our decision because the minute we walked in to the room, ALL of our water bottles were confiscated and we were told that we would not be allowed to have any access to them. If we had any water bottles that they caught us drinking from, they said they would charge $100 in fees. We asked, well what do we do if want water? They said its $2 per cup per person. They were literally trying to suck us dry. After they confiscated our water, they told us to pay to use the room, which we were completely fine with. However, the issue was the guy took up our valuable hour for us to pay!!!! So, we wasted ANOTHER 5 minutes waiting for the guy to deal with our payment. I believe my friends and I were taken advantage of. I regret my decision, as when we walked in THERE WAS NO LINE and it was a saturday night in New York which should have been a warning. Normally for nrb, you pay after everything. Second, they overcharged us for everything based on the menu prices. Had a really bad experience here. Don't come here on a Friday night if you're not on a big night out and trying to splash out - my boyfriend and I went there in casual clothes and our work backpacks to have a low key karaoke session after dinner and it felt like they tried to refuse us service on that basis. My boyfriend spoke to the girl working there in Korean, and apparently she told him it would be an hour wait and we wouldn't be able to put our names down for a reservation to come back later (very curtly). The only way was to wait at the front desk for an hour. I was confused since this has never happened to me before (I had been there once before too) so we sat down to talk about it, and the girl then brought the menu out to tell us there was a minimum charge of $10 for drinks per person. That + the $30 charge for an hour she told us about initially was fine with me so I said we got it, thank you. Maybe it looked like we were going to wait it out, so she then brought out mikes and took us to a room that 'had been reserved'. It felt sketchy since she said they weren't taking reservations that night before, so we ended up leaving. I'm not 100% sure what this situation was, but I know that I don't want to give any of my money to this place and would not recommend any friends to either. This place charged me extra from what was on my original receipt. They pretended to act like a bucket of beers was cheaper when I asked for 1 beer. So I said sure why not. When I go pay for my bill it has come up to $38 which is really not cheaper. They didn't have the courtesy to let me know before hand how much it would be. Fine I paid my bill and since I'm a server I left a tip. So my bill came out to $48 and change, cool until I got charged an additional $10 for "tax". I called them and they want to act like that was my original amount when it wasn't. I even saw the transaction go from $48 to $60 in my online banking. They have no courtesy and clarification on what they're actually charging. And it didn't even come up on my receipt!!!!!! Then they don't want to refund me my $10, honestly I don't care about the $10 it's the principal! Let people know what you're charging them before you charge them! Also once we paid for another hour all our songs were deleted from Cue, the guy said he would fix it and never did so we wasted time loading our songs again. Not much of a fan of karaoke (have found it to be annoying a times) so my review can be biased, but as for karaoke places go this might be a decent example of one. The lounges are spacious with lots of techie stuff, decor was kinda tacky . The song directories are huge, plenty of different types of music and specially a bunch of korean songs. Not sure if I got a headache from the crappy soju, sound system or the people singing, either way they should provide better liquor and ear plug to come with it. In other words, the degree of fun you'll have is directly proportional to the amount of soju intake which will provide a positive correlation to the headache you will experience the next day. They charged the group that came in after us only 40 for a room. thought I'd made a mistake and went with it, went back to check and they were over charging us. We bought the big bottle of Soju and they brought it in a weird container it was so watered down you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. I've been waiting to write this review, and finally decided it was time. Karaoke Wow is definitely NOT worth the price. Went in for a friend's birthday after eating at Miss Korea (also not the best), since it was conveniently located right above the restaurant. Prices aren't listed anywhere, so you have to rely on the employees to provide consistent information. We were told it would be $10 a person for one hour, which seemed reasonable. The song selections were pretty good, both English and Korean pop. A few friends ordered expensive drinks, which were delivered by one of the guys that was at the front desk, but were apparently watered down (I cant speak to this myself). When the hour was up, they quickly kicked us out with no option to stay longer since they "had a line of people waiting to get in." Lie. But, okay, I was done singing for the night. Go to pay the bill, and we are told we are short $50+. The woman we were paying typed furiously into a calculator and kept shouting "More! More! Not enough!" This made no sense to me, as we paid the price for drinks and the $10 a person. A couple of people in our party didn't care, and put more money down, so I put an extra $10 as well. In the elevator, we realize we definitely overpaid the woman, and so we go back up. She and some other guy can't find our receipt, but somehow know we didn't pay enough at first. She says we didn't tip them properly so that was why she asked for more money. Excuse me?! Tip is discretionary. You simply cannot ask for more money because you felt stiffed by us. If a specific tip is necessary for a party bigger than a certain amount, they should build it into the total, but that was not the case. I spoke my mind and said this to them as one friend tried quieting me. Nope - sorry I'm not sorry for not wanting to pay them more for a lack of service provided. Left the premises promising to write a negative Yelp review about such a shady joint. Now I know why Karaoke Wow does not have an exclamation point in it's name although it screams for it; because Karaoke Wow certainly does not wow its customers. read more
