Karmic Rescue found us our dream pup and she came so obedient and already house trained! They were great with communication and even brought our pup to meet us at our home. Cannot recommend them enough! Thank you for all your hard work!!!

My wife and I adopted a puppy from Karmic Rescue and couldn't be happier. We saw a pic of the puppy on Petfinder and reached out to the rescue. I was really glad to see that they really screen potential adopters through an application and pics of our property. It showed me that they really care about their dogs and won't just offload them onto someone else. We were able to schedule a meet and greet at a local park right away. One of their fosters, Rosy, came to meet us and was honestly a joy to deal with. She was super helpful and put us at ease about the adoption. After some paperwork, we were able to take her home and she has totally stolen our hearts. Despite being rescued from a neglectful situation, she couldn't be any sweeter and easy to train. I highly recommend Karmic to anyone looking to adopt. Im so glad we did.

I rescued my pup Nina from Karmic Rescue last June and am so thankful to Virginia for bringing us together. I found her on Petfinder, felt an instant connection, and submitted an application. The screening and approval process was efficient yet thorough, and I was able to meet both her and Virginia within 48 hours. Needless to say, it was love at first sight :) Virginia was incredibly helpful throughout the adoption process and answered all of my annoying new dog mom questions. It's clear she really cares about all of the dogs in her care. (Bonus: she's also just a great human being and I loved getting to hang out with her for an hour at our meet and greet). Nina just turned 1 and has blossomed into the sweetest, most affectionate, and well-rounded pup. Everyone who meets her is starstruck by how unique looking she is. She's also super smart, fast, and a big goofball. I'm so glad I found I her. Thanks again Virginia + to the the whole Karmic Rescue team for everything you guys are doing!

Such an amazing rescue. We unfortunately lost our aged rescue July 9. We figured it would take some time and be difficult to find a similar breed rescue and we didn't have to wait long. We adopted Picasso (we named him Sammy) on July 16 and he is amazing. He was obviously very well taken care of and trained by his foster. We are so blessed and couldn't have asked for a better dog. 100% of that is due to this amazing rescue group for saving him and training him. Adopt don't shop!!!! You really can rescue any kind of pet you like.

Zuko loves running on the beach and swimming in the water!

Adopting from Karmic was the single best decision I've ever made. My husband and I lost our 80lb husky mix in 2019. He'd had her for 12 years and we were crushed. After a year of grieving her (and also losing my mother in 2019) we decided we were ready for another pup. Unfortunately we found ourselves turned away by every rescue in our area. Despite our years of experience with a high energy breed and successfully exercising her while living in an apartment, every single rescue immediately disqualified us from adopting because we did not have a fenced yard. We told every rescue we planned to spend 2-4 hours a day exercising a new pup and had the schedules to accommodate it but it didn't matter. The shelters couldn't hold onto dogs long enough for us to meet them as it was the lonely quarantine summer and adoptions were high. Finally!! After months of looking, we found Karmic which promised that not having a yard or not working from home wouldn't disqualify anyone from adopting. That they wanted dogs in good homes and good homes came in all sizes and types. We drove from Long Beach to San Diego to meet Zuko and, though he was very shy and scared, we took him home that day. I can confidently say, without any exaggeration, that Zuko is my actual dog soul mate. He is the reason I get up. He is the reason I work. He is the light of our household and the envy of our friends. We go to the dog park every day and have made so many friends we would have never met otherwise. Virginia, Zuko's Karmic foster mom, is hands down the sweetest, kindest, most invested foster mom. She did not hesitate to send us all of Zuko's baby photos. She nurtured him through 2 bouts of distemper. And she continued to check in with us after the adoption to make sure it was still a good fit. I've been so happy to share all of my favorite photos of Zuko with her and her family. Virginia is truly an angel on earth giving street dogs a second chance and putting them in loving homes. I can't wait to get into a bigger home so we can add another puppy to our little family. I am happy to commute to San Diego and can't wait to rescue from Karmic again!

This organization has many dogs to take care of but you can tell they put in the best effort in caring, training, and finding the best homes for each dog. They're quick to respond, reliable and have designated meet ups or can come to you. I applied on a Friday and they followed up right away. We scheduled a meet up the following day. Many rescues disqualify you for working full time or if you don't WFH but not Karmic. They understand peoples different schedules and take the time to get to know the potential adopter and take the time to answer your questions and support you even after you take your dog home. I was lucky enough to adopt such a friendly, well behaved pup formerly Alan, now Leo this past April. :) thank you karmic rescue for providing me with my best friend. He has helped me heal from losing my childhood dog.

    Cleo in her new home!

We discovered Karmic Rescue Without Borders on Petfinder when we were looking to adopt a dog. We reached out to them to find out about Morena, now Cleo, and they were responsive and helpful in answering our questions. Foster mom Virginia called and told us all about Cleo. Virginia is truly compassionate and loving toward the animals and cares for them as if they are her own. Once we adopted Cleo both Virginia and Michele checked in with us to ensure everything was going well. We LOVE our new family member! And we are so grateful for the work that Karmic does to ensure that animals in need are given the lives they truly deserve. This world needs more Micheles and Virginias! We couldn't be happier with our sweet Cleo! Thank you KRWB!

We adopted a beautiful and gentle dog from this site. We are so happy for having him, he completed out little family. Everyday he is growing to be the sweetest angel on planet earth. I will give 10 stars if I could. Thank you Karmic for sent "Koa" a beatiful angel to our home

    Finley. Adopted 11/2022

We rescued our handsome dog from Karmic Rescue in November 2022. It didn't take him long to settle in and be a part of our family. The volunteers here were very quick to respond to our inquiry and we set a date to meet quickly. There were no discrepancies in what they had told us about him. A little patience and now he's a perfect fit. Thanks to everyone involved in getting him off the streets and into our home!!

"Boot camp" options seemed extreme, so I called Bark Busters (BB), seeking in-home private lessons. Justin responded the same day I left a message, and we talked about my concerns with our new rescue. I decided to try the BB program, which ended up being the BEST DECISION for my pup and for me! Justin set up our first session with trainer/coach James. James spent much of the 1st session going through the goals, objectives and concepts of training, including a timeline based on reasonable expectations of my dog. James spent a lot of time explaining how to "read" my dog's behavior, and how to properly respond. He explained the concepts behind each step, which helped me to understand not just what to do, but why (thus enabling me to understand how to deploy the training to different situations). James also set up scenarios to practice, going through each step so I could gain confidence in what my role is while helping my dog settle. It really is about training the owner how to work with the dog. James provided summaries of each session, plus videos demonstrating how I can use different responses/techniques to reshape how my dog reacts to stressful situations. I saw significant progress very early in the training, and was surprised at how quickly we were able to help my dog understand his role (and to feel safe) in our home. The best part is that if I need more help, I just have to reach out to James/BB and schedule more sessions - this is included in the initial program. Given that it takes a rescue dog a while to COMPLETELY settle in, new issues could arise as time passes, and if so, all I have to do is call to set it up. In summary, Bark Busters is a GREAT dog training program, and James is a FANTASTIC BB trainer/coach! Definitely recommend BB to owners that want help with their dogs!

He took the time to really understand Cowboy's personality and our specific goals. We're currently focusing on preventing "door dashing," improving basic obedience, and walking nicely on a leash -- and we're already seeing major progress! One of the things I appreciate most is Fernando's flexibility with in-home scheduling. It's made the training process so much more manageable for our family. He explains everything clearly and always gives us practical tools and homework that are easy to follow between sessions. Cowboy is responding so well to Fernando's calm, consistent approach, and we feel much more confident as dog owners thanks to his guidance. Are they under new ownership? What has changed?…read more We've used Camp Run-A-Mutt several times over the years for overnight boarding and have always had a great experience, which is why this recent stay was so surprising. When making the reservation, I noticed that a few of my dog's vaccinations would expire during his stay. We took care of getting them updated weeks in advance and made sure the vaccination certificates were sent to Camp Run-A-Mutt. I even confirmed with a staff member at the front desk that they had received everything and that my dog was all set for his stay. A few days before our trip, I received a call saying my dog was missing vaccinations. I asked which ones, and of course they were the very vaccinations we had already updated and submitted. I explained that they had the records, the employee put me on hold, then came back and confirmed everything was in order and said they'd see him on Thursday. Then things got even more frustrating. On Thursday, as I was landing in another state for my vacation, my daughter--who was dropping my dog off before catching her own flight--called me in a panic. She was being told they couldn't accept him because his rabies vaccine wasn't up to date. I immediately called the facility and explained that we had already confirmed his records twice. The employee put me on hold, checked the records, and sure enough, they had his current rabies certificate the entire time. They admitted everything was up to date and accepted him. A few days later, while we were still out of state, I received another call saying my dog was being quarantined and separated from the other dogs because his vaccinations supposedly weren't current. At this point, this was the third time in less than a week that the exact same issue had come up. I again explained that his vaccinations were current and that their staff had already confirmed this multiple times. The employee put me on hold and never came back to the phone. Thankfully, my daughter was only a few hours away and was able to rush over and pick him up. When I called to pay for his stay over the phone and let them know he was being picked up, I was initially told they couldn't accept payment over the phone. That was confusing because I've paid over the phone for previous stays without any issue. When I asked if it was a new policy, the employee admitted it wasn't--they just didn't know how to process a phone payment. They had to get someone else to help before I was finally able to pay. I'm honestly not sure what's changed, but the organization and communication were completely different from the excellent service we've received in the past. The repeated confusion over vaccination records--which they already had on file and repeatedly confirmed--caused unnecessary stress while my family was traveling out of state and ultimately resulted in our dog being removed from daycare and picked up early. We've always been happy with Camp Run-A-Mutt, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope this was just an isolated breakdown in communication, but based on our recent experience, I no longer feel confident leaving my dog there.
