I used to live across the street from this bar on Printer's Row and it was a weekly hang out for me. I am a younger female in my early twenties and used to go there with a guy I was dating at the time or would take friends there after dinner or a night on the town if they were going to crash with me in the South Loop. The locals there are older and hysterical, the service is great and the drinks are stiff. It is also super affordable. The beer selection on tap is good for a local bar. I am a huge vodka drinker as well and the nicer liquor is not watered down or substituted with cheaper shiz like some other cheap bars do... I felt super comfortable in this place and the bar-tenders always knew who we were...we would also go in there so often that the locals would get up out of their seats to let me and friends sit down if it was busy. Super sweet crowd. The TV's are always playing sports so it was something to watch when relaxing having a beer. In addition, you can order food from the restaurant next door if you decide you want some grub. I hope to find a bar like this in NYC. read more

Popped into Kasey's while I was killing some time after work and before meeting up with a friend. My boyfriend and I were pleased to see that they had Allagash White on tap and quickly downed two each. When we got the bill we were shocked to see that our total was only $12!!! ...so shocked in fact that we decided to make our friends wait while we had another. Can't wait to come back! read more

While I liked the feel of the bar that's about it. You are getting 1 star because of your shitty service. My group went there and they were feeling beer and the other girl and I were feeling liquor, I know its a beer bar but they had liquor so we thought we could satisfy everyone. When I told the waitress I wanted a bloody mary she just looked at me a second and replied "this is more of a beer place, nobody gets liquor, the drinks won't be very good if you get one, its not like real liquor." Real liquor? What the hell is that supposed to mean? If I am a customer and want to spend money at your establishment you should take my order and go, and not question it and then tell me your drinks suck and aren't liquor. She had a very bad attitude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I still stuck with the bloody mary as did my friend. She came back with the drinks and with the bill, and just STOOD THERE. Normally servers leave the check on the table and come back to collect after a few minutes. So even though we all wanted to enjoy our drinks we had to scuffle around to get our money together. She finally took the money and left. Pretty sure nobody gave her a tip. She never once came back to see how we were doing or ask if we needed refills. It's safe to say we won't be going back. Stopped here Friday night, our first time as we recently moved to the city. No doubt a dive bar but mean that in a good way. This is my friend's usual bar so we had a get together there last night (Friday night) for his girlfriend. The bartenders, cool. They had a cocktail waitress, which is a plus, and she was great. $3.50 Miler Lite draft/bottles, not bad for South Loop. This is my kind of bar. Pro's - Good mix of patrons, students, older regulars who live in the lofts, mostly neighborhood type people who are laid back. - Good beer selection. Probably 2 dozen beers on tap, with at least 10 micro-brews. They do have Miller Lite on draft for only $3.50 so there is something to offer for the budget conscious. - Good specials - only good place you will find with $3.50 you call it draft beer on Saturdays. - Great service most of the time. - Old time feel with 30's decor (and it's real such as the original cash register, wood molding, and bar!) - Lots of flat HDTVs - good for gameday. Con's - Small, tough to get a group of more than 4-5 seats together. - Can be crowded - Can get hot in the summer - No food (except frozen pizza and popcorn) - BUT you can order Hackneys, Bar Louie, or Flaco's Tacos (or bring our own) and they will bring it down for you. Went here for a St Paddy's Day Party. There's no food here, fortunately they had no problem with the idea of bringing outside food into their establishment, so we brought in 5 pizzas from Pat's (see 2nd Pat's Pizza Review), just down the street, and placed them on the table in the back . The wait staff was very friendly and super attentive to our beer drinking needs. We actually had our own waitress who served us in the back of the tavern so we didn't have to trek through the throng of people drinking themselves silly in front of the bar. And, while they don't really serve food, you can bring in your own if you like. What a fun place. The staff are extremely friendly and pour a nice drink. This is a sports bar but more low key than others. One of the best things about this place is that they allow deliveries from all of the local restaurants - eg you go to dinner at Lou Malnati's Pizza Restaurant and there is a 50 minute wait (as was the case with us). So we opted to go somewhere else. It was much to our surprise when the bar tender told us we could order delivery!!! Perfect!! read more

Whether I want to sit down and watch the hawks game by myself or am out with a group, dancing to the jukebox, Kaseys never fails to make the night memorabel.. from what I remember! This South Loop locale is pretty chill, no frills, and a solid beer list. The beer list is what will keep me coming back. It isn't super fancy, the service is solid but forgettable, and most of the patrons are there watching the game. I'm perfectly okay with that, I don't want to be hassled while I'm teetering on the edge of my seat, that could make a girl fall and eat bar stool on the way down. It's your typical Irish Pub set up with a great beer selection. I went there with a couple of friends on a weeknight, and the place was still pretty busy. I don't think they have a kitchen because when my friend asked if he could see a menu, the waitress said that we could bring in our own food... We also noticed a deliveryman running over with bags of food from Flaco's Taco's a few times (I'm not sure if the food was for the patrons or the staff). Go for the beer and to connect with friends.
