This auto shop sitting right on US 31 is staffed by a very knowledgeable and qualified mechanic who did an amazing job on my vehicle. The prices are very competitive for the area with awesome customer service. I was told exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, what needed to be done as well as given a warranty! I could not be happier with the work done by this shop! My 2003 Honda Element broke down away from home when it was on loan to a family member. We had it towed to Kashef's which was recommended by family member who had used them before. They patched it up with new parts and it runs smooth again. All the work was completed exactly as they said it would be ....the price quoted was to the penny....first good experience at a garage that I have had. I recommend them 100%. I would not recommend this business even for a lawn mower. They have very shady /limited skills, do not even open on their own hours, and they are over priced. I am writing this because i took my 2021 Chevy Trailblazer in there to have a brake issue checked out. The brother Zaid was out getting married and left the shop to his other brother Ahmad. When I came in to get it checked out Ahmad said lets test drive it. I swear to God he only drove it two car distances (on his property) then said it was air in the lines. So we drove two car distances back and he opened the hood. He examined the fluid and said it needed a flush. I asked him what the cost would be and he said let's go in and see. He pulled up the computer and told me it was around $375 just for the flush. I then stated that the engine light was on due to a lean fuel mixture fault and he ran a test on it and SUPPOSEDLY said the purge valve was bad. so i stated that i would go ahead and talk to my wife. I didn't check with other places to compare prices because i felt since this guy helped me with a small weld job for free , then I would give him the business. Well i scheduled the repair for Friday and first sign of bad business is they don't even follow their own hours. Sign and owner said they open at 8 am to 5 pm every day. My wife and I showed up at 7:45 am and no one was anywhere to be seen. I waited until 8:00am and texted Zaid who I wasn't aware was on his honeymoon. But he contacted his brother who finally showed up after 8:30. Strike 1. He stated to me I should've just left the car and dropped the keys off in their door like it was my fault. Confirmed the work to be done and that I would have it back later that day and he agreed. Around 2:00 pm after hearing nothing from him I called him. He told me he was trying to figure out why the low fluid light was on. I told him I would probably guess that it's because you're losing fluid as you bleed the system. Common sense for any skilled mechanic. Finally he calls me around 3:45 and said it was done. My wife and I showed up to pick up our car and again he wasn't there. We had to sit there and wait with the father until he showed up about 30 minutes later. He confirmed to me that the brakes were completely done not just once but 4 times. I asked him numerous times and after the third time of me asking that you are 100% sure the brakes are done, he then said lets go outside and I'll show you. We opened the hood and he opened the master cylinder to show me the clear fluid. At that time I again asked so the brakes are 100% completely done correct ? He said yes but I couldn't get the engine light to go off. I told him I would take care of that later on. The bill was paid and we left. The next day my wife and I left to drive our day of rideshare and the same issue occurred. I contacted the Chevy dealership and they said I could drop it off and since I didn't have an appointment they would get to it when they could. When I took the car in the advisor heard the same issue I originally started with and he said it sounded like they were not bled properly. When I showed him the bill I was charged by Kashef Automotive he could'nt believe what they charged. Then when I told him who did it he busted out laughing because the brother used to work for them. He would cause all kinds of little issues with all the cars he worked on . Then one day he decided to quit there to go work at his brothers place. Come to find out another $226 later , he did not bleed the brakes properly or re calibrate them to the car. So at this point we're out 5 days of work, paid for work that wasn't completed, and another service bill to a reputable business. If I forgot to mention he was price gouging me because ,the actual licensed service mechanics only charged $159 total including the labor. He should have known this because he used to use this for billing his work with the dealership. Well after all this I contacted the Zaid who I usually dealt with and tried explaining the issue to him. He tried to lowball me and just refund me part of what I was asking. I was asking $300 and he said no. He could only pay the bill for the dealership. Since he said no I am following other avenues to get me refund and now more. I lost 5 days of work at a minimum of $250 a day and I paid for 2 services when I have the receipt for completed work on the Friday. I will be contacting the FTC, Attorney General, and the BBB to get this resolved. read more
