If you're in the Ukrainian village area and looking for a great deli sandwich, swing by Kasias! Delicious, and big subs with meat freshly shaved. Options for take home items too including their famous perogis. Nice, efficient staff and fair prices.

I went to Kasia's for lunch last week for the first time and it was GREAT! Had them make me up a fresh turkey sandwich and got a bag of chips. They were fast and super efficient even with the lunchtime rush. There are 3 tables inside and one happened to open up right after I finished checking out. All their case items looked fresh so might check out some other items next visit. Regardless I'll be back for a sandwich in the near future!

I've always bought Kasia's frozen pierogi's in my local market and honestly did not know that Kasia Deli was the same company. I was delighted to see other products made fresh like the cabbage rolls that I did not hesitate to ask for. They were sold by weight so I bought 2 pounds, 1 IB with no sauce and 1 IB with what seems like a thin layer of tomato sauce. I did ask for extra sauce which I thought I was getting a few ounces but only saw that she gave a 1 oz ($.35) added to my bill. (I suggest you not get extra sauce). I did see a box of kolaczki cookies on top of the deli counter and I thought they were made in-house (they are not). The cookies were doughy and not enough fruit jam. Overall, the food was fantastic and I would come back for more cabbage rolls and fresh pierogi's. Location is convenient and they have limited free parking spots on the side of the building.

Stopped here on a food bike tour of Chicago. It was by far one of my favorite stops. In the Lithuanian village, it's a staple and has been there for quite sometime. Kasia started this business making homemade pierogis over 40 years ago. Now the family continues the tradition! These were so delicious, I could not stop eating them! I'm Already searching to see where I can buys these in NC. I don't think they ship, but they do sell wholesale to several big box stores! Fingers crossed I can find them.

Kasia's! Found myself in the Ukrainian Village area and the rain was turning into snow. I was hungry, and the exterior of Kasia's was very inviting. Went inside to pick up some pierogis and latkes, at the deli counter and saw a nice assortment of Polish food. The deli clerk could not have been nicer and made some recommendations. I sat by the window to watch the rain and the cars go by; the hot foot was very comforting. I wish I would have gotten more and a hot soup. I'm beginning to realize that Eastern European cuisine is somewhat familiar in a SAT analogy way: Schnitzel : Polish :: tonkatsu : Japanese Pierogi : Polish :: gyoza : Japanese I did like the savoriness, but since my preference is for some bolder flavors, I would have enjoyed a sauce or toppings. Great neighborhood vibe and hospitality though. Seems like a wonderful neighborhood to call home! Food: 3/5 Value: 5/5 Experience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Good for: A cold day! Recommends: Trying a little of everything and asking for some toppings or sauce.

Came to Kasias on a food tour and it was amazing! From her beautiful story, to the Ukrainian desserts, to the welcoming staff - it was very memorable. We got to sample their pork, kraut, and chicken pierogis. The pork was absolutely my favorite of the bunch as it had so much flavor inside. Would recommend anytime you're in the neighborhood!

Found plenty of potato peel in their potato dumplings!!! I would understand if there was just 1 pcs somehow they missed. Instead each dumpling had couple pcs of potato peel. Dont recommend!!!

While we had originally gone there for bagel sandwiches, it was past noon and they were sold out (just means I have to go back now). The latkes were the perfect side that we ordered and the corn beef was so juicy. The sandwich practically melted in my mouth. It was consumed rather quickly and the perfect amount of sauerkraut and dressing. This location is small, but we were luckily able to get a table inside. Just writing this review my mouth is watering and I just know I will be coming back here during my many visits to Chicago!

Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.

It was refreshing to come to a deli that didn't have an overwhelming menu. When it was my turn to order, the interaction felt very personable. I ordered a Turkey Pastrami & Provolone sandwich and my girlfriend ordered a Turkey and Provolone (not pictured). The overall assembly of the sandwich was perfect. The bread is sourced from D'Amoto's (IYKYK) ‍. The meat was thinly sliced but they didn't skimp at all. The hot peppers were the star of the show though. We were quoted a time of 20 minutes out. We arrived a little early and the gal at the counter told us it would be a few minutes. She called out when ready and sat at one of the tables in the front to eat. Each sub had a decent amount of filling. While we each offered the smallest subs, we were plenty full when we left. We enjoyed our subs and now have a place to add to our list for a new quick lunch. For the store itself, they have some odds and ends but many Italian staples. The counter and deli had a steady flow of customers in and out.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout. You can find all kinds of things for the house or to gift someone whether it's food, a cookie jar, something imported from Italy, or a homemade meal. You'll find something for everyone.
