Engine light on, need it cleared now that inspection can't have a light on the dash active. Booked it in, they looked at everything, tracked the code, found the sensor itself was bad and replaced it. Very Professional. Another Sensor went on my 8 year old vehicle. Same thing, bad sensor, again good timely work. Another dash check engine, seems the sensors break before the car does. They could have charged me for a sensor but this is why the review has been written. They checked the codes, checked everything out, smoked the line and found it was not a sensor this time. I had my front valence bumper start dragging on one side. I tried to go to another mechanic first, but they wouldn't touch it (said it was a body shop issue and turned me away). I have asked many times for a price quote and gotten nothing back. I've also been off and on for ten years or so and at times service has been great and at other times I've thought "Why am I paying this much for this service??" This shop is known for doing honest work - that's great! There are also other shops known for doing honest work without such a hefty price tag, & who will treat you like they actually appreciate/want your (return) business. As for me and my house, we're going to try some of the other shops out there that are within a mile or two of Kastis and see how we fare. read more

Move to the area in 2017, leaving behind our family mechanic of almost 20 years. Like many industries, it can be hard sometimes to find honest, hardworking and fair combined with quality and care. Kastis was a stroke of luck... I needed an overall diagnostic and was prepared for the usual early or unnecessary recommendations or worse; we've found some issues... BUT, to my pleasant surprise, Kastis pulled me in and showed me what they were looking at and why. Didn't push a thing. Didn't try to gouge. Nothing. Kastis did exactly what I asked and were very clear about everything. THEY DON'T CHARGE ANY EXTRA FEES FOR STATE INSPECTION!!! Hope this helps those out there in need. Kastis is a keeper. I was gonna give up on my 2006 Sequoia because of brake failures again! Well a friend told me to try this place because they have been working on his cars for years and it's been nothing but positive and honest service. He was right! John the manager was wonderful! He showed me all the things that were wrong in my vehicle and showed me what I needed. Other places told me to go home and billed me later but didn't fix it correctly. I now have a new auto shop that I can trust. As a female who doesn't know much about fixing a whole brake system I learned a lot. Around 2PM I called for an update & Mike the owner said it had not been looked at and insisted I picked it up since I sounded like I was in a rush. In reality I'm a working mom who needed to make plans. Get a rental etc. very disrespectful. Even called my husband back to go off on him & hang up on him mid sentence. There was an issue with a defective part that I had to take the vehicle back a couple days later but they accommodated me quickly and without an hassle. I've used these guys three time total, once for an O2 sensor and twice for unrelated horn issues. I needed a battery replaced in a Dodge Journey but needed a shop that had a lift because the battery is located in the wheel well. Happen to think of Kastis Auto and I'm glad I did. So saw the great ratings and decided to come for a tune-up and inspection. Could not tell me how long it would be so I left Suv with them at about 9am. Called 3 times to check on status and nothing started yet. By 3pm came in to check status. Said they were about to do state inspection but could not do the tune up. They never mentioned this to me during my calls nor did they call to inform me they lacked the capability to do a tune up. Said it would take me a week to get it done somewhere else. Challenge accepted. Won't be coming back. read more

I ended up not leaving my car cause a family member was able to help me in a faster turn around time for a tune up, but John DeKing was extremely helpful and honest about what was wrong and the price it would cost for repairs. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or like he was selling me on things I didn't need done. Although I didn't end up getting my repairs done at Kastis, the experience and professionalism was absolutely a 10/10. This place is great. The staff is friendly, the owners are nice and personable, I'd recommend them to anyone. They always come off as honest folks, and I appreciate that when it comes to trusting someone with something as important and personal as my vehicles. I've got two neighbors that get their vehicles serviced there when needed, and one of them is an older fellow, someone that could easily be taken advantage of by an unscrupulous establishment - he took his truck in there one day because he thought he might have a bad alternator, turns out it was just a slow drain from a light that didn't switch off. They could've easily scammed him for a new alternator and the labor, but these seem to be real honest folks right here. I hope to not have to see them other than the three times a year we need our vehicle inspections done, or when a can of BG 44K is needed, but it's nice to know a good local shop for when stuff happens. This place does customer service right. In a world where automotive places will lie and swindle to get every penny out of you, this place doesn't pull that crap and is fairly priced.
