I did not have my car worked on here BUT, to the service manager Sarah.. You are a life saver ! I was having electrical issues in my car due to an after market radio. The radio had been in my car for years and given me no issues until about a month ago - my battery was constantly dying and the radio wouldn't turn off, even with the key out. I called Baumanns off of a referral from a friend at work to see if they could look at my car or had anyone who worked on electrical stuff. 2 otger places i had been 2 were no help at all. Sarah let me know that they did have guys who could find the issues but it would be 98.00 an hour and once they found the issue that they couldn't rewire the radio to work.. they could take it out or cut the power totally.. both of which are not an option for me. I let her know that so she then suggested that I try to take it to an audio shop to see if they could figure it out. That was the best suggestion she could have made ! ! I called a few places and found one who knew EXACTLY what the issue was as soon as I told him what was going on. I got my car fixed finally, same say and for only 45.00 ! ! ! ! I cannot speak on their auto repair skills aside from my coworker saying they are super honest and a very great place to go but if it wasn't for Sarah - I would still be with a dead battery and a radio that won't cut off. Little bit sorry for giving low stars as they looked like nice and fair people but unfortunately, they didn't solve my problem and I wasted a lot of time and money. I came there because of noise coming from bottom of my Ford while driving, spent $750 during two visits for replacing 2 wheels bearing and after that left with hearing EXACTLY the same noise. It finally showed to be a transmission problem which is a pretty expensive repair and not spending $750 on wheel bearings would help me to put together money for transmission repair. The guy in transmission repair shop told me that he does not understand how this noise might be misdiagnosed as wheel bearing noise. Oil change here was good on the other hand. read more

Nabbed a Groupon for an oil change here. It was a great value, and I was able to schedule an appointment for a Saturday morning. The staff was friendly and the service took about 45 minutes in total, and that included the oil change and tire rotation. There was a small waiting area with coffee, a clean restroom, magazines and tv while I waited. When I paid, the cashier explained the services and recommendations for the next oil change. They didn't try to add any additional services and I appreciated the explanation and review of the invoice. I just took my 4runner in for an Oil Change at the last minute. Called at 10:30am and they happen to have a noon appointment so being that I live around the corner from them I snagged it. I was a little apprehensive since that's the lunch time for most techs but sure enough they took me in at 11:50 and I was out the door at 12:30! In the short time I've been going to them since I just moved here, they have always been fair with their prices. They always seem to squeeze me into their schedule when I call at the last minute and always seem to get the work done on my 4runner fairly quickly. Brought my vehicle in to Baumann Auto Repair to figure out why my air conditioner was not blowing cool air. Was not informed about any charges or fees when I provided my car keys to the front desk associate for the assessment. After the assessment was completed, I was provided an estimate for the repairs. However, when I was given my car keys back, I was informed that I was being charged $39.99 for the A/C inspection. I was not informed about this fee beforehand, and wish they had communicated this before the assessment. The associate explained it was because they had topped off fluids in my vehicle. I appreciate them taking the initiative to put fluids in my vehicle, however I did not ask for this nor did I agree to this service. I consider this a deceptive business practice and would definitely not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I was a customer at Baumann auto repair on Cincinnati Avenue for years. I took all of my vehicles to them. I was having trouble with my battery dying, so I had it fully charged at AutoZone and checked; it was a good battery. I called Baumann and told them the battery is good, but something is draining it; the car keeps dying. I had it towed to them and the very first thing they did was take the battery out, replace it and charge me for the battery and the labor. By the time I found out, the battery had already gone to recycle; so they could not undo their mistake. I was charged almost $300 for their mistake. After that, they still charge me diagnostic fees. I still ended up paying over $400 and my car was in the shop for 10 days and they never gave me an answer to the issue. I picked it up losing over $400; with no answers. My wife was the one that suggested the problem may be related to the issue I was having with the rear windows. My wife, the one who doesn't even put gas in her own car. I googled it, and lo and behold, Volkswagon CC's have an issue with, the rear window modulators malfunctioning and draining the battery. Right there on YouTube. I ordered the parts and fixed it myself. I went back to Baumann and let them know that I fixed it myself when there, so-called master mechanic, could not even come up with a diagnosis. The mechanic I spoke to, that tried to diagnose my car, had the audacity to tell me that I picked up the car too soon. The next thing they were going to check was the rear window modulators. He told me that I said the diagnostic fees were adding up to be too much, and I could not afford any more diagnostics. That is a bold face lie. I was only being charged a flat fee for the diagnostics because they made such a huge fuck up with my battery. I asked that the general manager contact me. Never a word from Baumann. I asked again for the general manager to call me, I left a review, nothing. Complete radio silence from them, after I had been a customer FOR YEARS!. Just think how they would treat brand new customers they don't even have a relationship with. read more

100% the best auto repair shop in the city. Sarah is s fantastic receptionist that helped keep me calm when I freaked out about my car battery dying. She informed me of the information I needed and treated me extremely well. Jared, the mechanic, is a genius. He was honest to the core about the cost of the job, and worked with me on pricing. As a father with kids in a vehicle emergency, this company gave me the best experience, treated me fairly, and affordability was fair. Definitely taking my car here again Went here again to change my complete brakes on my car, and had an even better experience and better service than before. Jared was again very nice and professional, he recognized me and said hello to my daughter. Had no issues with the service I needed being affordable. Didn't get to see Sarah that time, but I know she was off saving the world helping another customer, being just the sweetheart she is. I have been coming to get regular oil changes at Baumann since February 2017 and have nothing but satisfactory service until today, January 14, 2022. This was my 10th oil change with a Groupon in the past five years. I have bought an oil change Groupon for $25 each time and that is what I paid on the previous nine visits, but today I was charged more than double that amount! The employee claims they have been making a mistake for the past five years and that the Groupon does not provide a synthetic blend oil change for up to 5 quarts of oil, as advertised, but is a $25 discount off or their $46.88 package. This means now that the total price is $53.11, more than twice what I have paid in the past. The Groupon fine print says you may pay more for more than 5 quarts, so I have no problem paying the $4.40 charge for two extra quarts. In the interest of transparent advertising, the Groupon needs to be changed so that customers know that the price has doubled, the rules have changed and that Groupon now is simply a $25 discount rather than the price of a synthetic blend oil change, as described. After five years of satisfactory service and excellent value, I will sadly now be looking for a business that is honest and transparent in their advertising of what appear to be a good value. I am very disappointed in this new business practice and will cease to recommend Baumann to friends, as I have in the past. read more

Good place, and the mechanics try to help. The manager, Sarah is rude and doesn't let their mechanics help. The reason I want to voice my review is because I spent hundreds of dollars here, and I deserve a simple explanation on an invoice. I even went in person because she couldn't explain it over the phone. She was so rude that I don't want to return. She wouldn't let the mechanics do a quick inspection on my car because it was 15 minutes to closing. It was only going to take 5 minutes and I had been waiting there for 45 minutes in line for my turn as a returning customer with a quick question on my car and on an invoice. I still have questions on the invoice from previous service, because it has not yet been answered. After I wrote this review, the manager, Sarah called me to yell at me why I wrote this review and started arguing with me in such a bad manner. This is unacceptable! How unprofessional. I asked to speak to Mr. Baumann, the owner, and she simply said, "No, he allows me to take care of the reviews." Mr Baumann, if you read this, please call me. The brakes on my "03 Toyota RAV4 started making noise a few weeks ago and I had no idea where to take my vehicle since I avoid the "stealership" if all possible and I had a friend of a friend do repairs on my previous car. I researched Baumann Auto Repair online and most of the reviews were positive. I stopped by the shop on my way home on a Monday and they were able to schedule me in for an overview of my brakes and other systems on Tuesday. I got a call a few hours later with the repairs they suggested, including the serpentine belt, which was almost shot since it had been on the car for 90K miles. They were able to do all the repairs by the time I got off work the same day. The entire experience was a positive one and now I have a place to take my vehicle for all of it's repair needs. read more

Went in for 30K mi service on my Toyota Prius, which was basically an oil and filters change, tire rotation and inspection. They kept me apprised of the status of the work, let me know the estimated cost, and even gave me a coupon when I didn't have one. As far as I can tell, everything was done correctly. Baumann also took care of a problem with a previous repair on a Ford Ranger that was still under warranty, no questions asked. I called to follow up on the progress on Thursday and they hadn't been able to get to it . I just went there after leaving the Culebra location to get a state inspection. The Culebra location told me to go there because their DPS machine was down. I was told that I needed an appointment and told her that the Culebra location told me to come. She said they were full and she could not accommodate me. I told her that I should not have been sent over and that she could work a little on her customer service. Her tone through the whole exchange was not professional at all. I let her know that she could work on her customer service skills and walked out the door. She came to door and yelled that "I could read my book and see that I was supposed to make an appointment ". This is after I told her that I was sent there by other location. I was frustrated, yes, but was already out the door. Was it necessary for her to go the door and yell out the door? She should have just been happy I was leaving. She must be related to the owner if she can act like that and get away with it. I have never had a negative experience at Culebra location. Biggest scam ever! My wife took our brand new car there for an oil change with a Groupon. We should have known to stay away considering the place was dead. The tech finished the job and informed her that we needed to have our transmission pan gasket changed. He proceeded to walk her outside to show her. He quoted her $600 to fix it. We immediately took our car to the dealership where the tech informed us that someone loosened our transmission bolt and poured transmission oil in odd spots. This place could have cost me my transmission because they wanted more money! I ended up spending $400 in a rental car because of their wanted to scam me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

We have been loyal customers of Baumann auto repair for years. I think that with auto mechanics you get what you pay for. They aren't cheap, but they also aren't over priced. It costs what you would expect for quality service. They have always done an excellent job of caring for our vehicles. They also put a lot of guarantees on their work, and they really treat their loyal customers well. They always thoroughly check out your vehicle, then they let you know what the repairs will cost. They are also very honest about things that you're going to need to take care of eventually, but can wait a while if you can't afford it. They only start the repairs after you agree to the price. All I can say is that they have kept our vehicles running well far beyond the normal expected life of the vehicle. We have always found them to be honest and to provide superior quality repairs and maintenance. We tried a lot of other places before Baumann, but once we found them we knew that they would be our permanent auto repair shop. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more
