One odd thing--they use table clothes but then put paper on top. This felt a bit off for the fancy atmosphere they were trying to create. We had lots of delicious food. Our meal started off with the Daily Bread & Butter and Caesar. Both paired well together. For entrees, I had the Wagyu Zabuton, which was cooked well and was paired with flavorful sides. My husband had the Lamb Chops, which were beautifully plated. All the cocktails were amazing, but my favorite was the Madam's Choice. They didn't do anything special for anniversaries, but it was fine because we were full of food and took the leftovers home. I'm excited to try this place for Sunday brunch next!

The flavor palette is just absolutely exquisite and will justify your coming here. ...and on that note. I had to wait what felt like an epoch for my delicious, chicken-y reward, and despite the size of the restaurant and relatively tame level of busy-ness, wait staff still took their sweet time and did not get bread out in a timely fashion. The ambiance is like 'millennial interior design final boss' - imagine being trapped within the pages of Magnolia Table, and everyone looks and sounds like the first Google results for 'hipster'. I wouldn't mention this if the smarminess of staff didn't compound the frustration of having to wait forever for like three pieces of bread. So, if you're in the area and have a refined palette that craves rich, delicious flavors against a backdrop of open French windows, I'd say go for it. The food definitely outcompetes the annoyance I felt. But seriously, get the chicken sandwich.

A birthday surprise I'll never forget!…read more This restaurant came highly recommended by a former employee, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed us. I tried a mezcal cocktail for the first time, the blueberry mezcal, and it was incredibly unique, smoky, slightly sweet, and just overall delicious. For food, we ordered the corn, poblano tamales, and the chorizo steak burrito. Every bite was packed with flavor. Portions were generous, so much so that we ended up taking leftovers home (always a good sign!). But the true highlight of the evening? The birthday celebration. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, and I casually mentioned a birthday at the end of the month. She smiled and said, "Leave the rest to me." I had no idea what was coming... Suddenly, the entire bar lit up? iterally. Flames shot up like a volcano erupting, the staff came out with fire, bubbles, and this incredible energy. It felt like a full-on performance. Then came a rich chocolate cake soaked in liqueur that was just as dramatic as it was delicious. It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. If you're looking for amazing food, creative drinks, and unforgettable celebrations, this place delivers on all of it. We'll definately be back.

I stopped into Xalisco in Ogden on a random weeknight around 8pm and was a little thrown off when I…read morewalked in and the place was completely empty--no customers, no one at the host stand, just crickets. For a second I wondered if they were closed, but someone eventually came out and seated me. That initial vibe had me a bit concerned, but I stuck it out. I started with the chips, corn, and guacamole, which was decent, nothing mind-blowing but fresh enough and got the job done. The Cadillac Margarita ($20) was a disappointment though. It was basically a glass of ice with way too much lime juice dominating everything; I could barely taste the tequila. The Michelada was better, solid and refreshing, and the service was about the same: friendly and attentive enough once they got going, but nothing standout. But holy smokes, that asada stuffed burrito saved the whole meal. The asada was ridiculously tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Juicy, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth beef wrapped in a solid burrito. That one item alone made me glad I came. Overall, the place has some hits and misses. If the asada is what you're after, it's worth it. Just maybe skip the Cadillac marg and don't expect a lively atmosphere on a slow night. I'd go back for the burrito.

We were in town for business and came here for dinner…read more The service was very good and the ramen I got was in point. Another great restaurant in the Ogden UT area.

It is about a two-hour trip on transit each way for me to get here, but since I had the day off, I wanted to make the journey specifically to visit this location and walk around the area. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. I walked in right when they opened at 11:00 AM. Despite being one of only two tables in the entire, huge restaurant, the service was chaotic and aggressive. The staff was openly arguing and yelling at each other across the kitchen and floor because they couldn't remember what was on the specific ramen I ordered--which is wild considering the menu only has about 10 options. The food itself fell totally flat. They warned me the broth wasn't fully ready/hot when I ordered, but even when it arrived, it was lukewarm. It was steaming, but nowhere near the piping-hot temperature required for a good bowl of ramen. Worse, the spinach in the bowl was incredibly gritty, meaning the kitchen didn't even bother to wash it properly. To top it off, I was completely rushed out the door. I was asked if I needed a fork for my soup (which happens every time), and while I was actively eating with a quarter of my bowl still left, the waitress interrupted to ask if I wanted dessert. When I shook my head because my mouth was full, she just said she'd be right back and slapped the check on my table. It was barely 11:30 AM and the restaurant was empty--there was zero reason to push me out. Frankly, this was unacceptable. I'll probably stick exclusively to the Farmington location from now on, even though the service there isn't great either. At least the kitchen staff there doesn't treat paying customers to a live workplace argument.
