Kat and I discussed my vacation plans and gave me a total price for the house sitting prior to my trip. We had a meet and greet and I communicated to her via text and in person my vacation deoarture time and return She was paid in full ( cash) before I left. However she had her pet sitter call me the night before at 2am oblivious to the time discussEd of my return home . The next day she proceeded to ask me for more $$ due to her miscalculation and then had the audacity to state it was a confusion on both of our parts which was absolutely ridiculous ! Both of my Labs are house trained and I came home to doh urine on my bedroom rug and an I cleaned litter box that obviously wasn't kept up with. My covers on my sofa were down and my brand new couches had doggy slobber stained on them. The house smelled of dog which for me is not acceptable I do not recommend Kat's Dog walking for house sitting needs They boast amazing care This was definitely not my personal experience. read more

We had Katherine check in on our two cats while we were away for two weeks. It was great - I don't even think the cats were upset we were gone. She took care of them, grabbed our mail (and several boxes), and watered the plants. It was great. Plus she is friendly and fairly priced. Would highly recommend! read more

This is actually the FIRST Yelp review I have ever written, if that further validates how great Katherine is! My boyfriend and I recently rescued our first pup, and our biggest concern was finding affordable and trustworthy care for her while we are both at work. I researched endless options, with doggy daycare's being overly pricey and requiring drop-off/pick-up (who has time for that?!). When I came across Katherine's website, I was immediately enticed by her service options, she went beyond the typical dog walking and had great alternatives for working couples like us. We have been working with Katherine for less than 2 weeks and I am already so appreciative. I have been a bit of a paranoid dog mommy, always wanting my pup to be content, and Katherine has been communicative with me and understanding of my concerns. Our dog goes out with Katherine daily for playgroups and is always well exercised when we get home at the end of the day. I fully trust Katherine with our dog and intend on using her for years to come. I would highly recommend Katherine as your dog walker or care provider. Can't say enough good things about Kat. She started walking our Weimaraner as a young puppy up until he turned 1 recently. It's a shame we moved out of the area because it'll be hard to find someone as good as her for our dog. Kat is amazing with the dogs, and the humans. She communicates everything with you about your dog and is easily accessible by text or phone. Every day our dog went out with her it was obvious because he was good and tired and worn out...most of all happy. I think her site says her playgroups are 1-1.5 hours but realistically the dogs are out for about 3 or more hours. Plus she posts photos to Facebook and Twitter of the dogs playing, which is awesome. Kat is excellent! She started watching our boys - a chocolate lab and a great dane - early this summer. From the start I knew we found a great sitter. She picked up the boys in her own car and watched them at her own home which makes me feel so much better than sending them to a place that keeps them in crates. She sends me picture texts of what they are up to so I know she's always keeping them active. The past two weeks she watched them while we were getting married and going on our honeymoon. I had total confidence that Kat took great care of our boys while we were away. I'm so grateful to have found Kat and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an in home sitting experience. read more

Don't be fooled by the business title, Katherine also loves cats. When we lived in Dorchester we adopted two stray kittens from our backyard at the start of the summer. Since we are always away during the summer that meant we needed to find someone who could watch the cats right away. We were so thankful to find Katherine as she really loved our boys. When they were tiny kittens she would stop in twice a day to feed them and play for 20-30 minutes. We felt very comfortable going away for weekends knowing that Katherine was to care for them. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Kat! She takes my 3 year old black lab to playgroup 3 days a week, and Bailey always returns happy and exhausted. Kat is also incredibly flexible- for example, my landlord is doing some construction in my apartment and he asked me the day before if I could have Bails out of the house for a few hours. I texted Kat, and she immediately agreed to take Bails out to another playgroup during that time period. I've also asked her to cover extra days that I knew I was going to be working late, and she has come on weekends occasionally too. Kat clearly loves dogs, and even texts me pictures of Bailey playing and having a great time with her friends. I wholeheartedly recommend Kat to ANYONE looking for a dog walker, dog sitter, or doggy playgroup! read more

Kat's Dog Walking and specifically our dog walker, Anita, have been a god send since we got our chocolate lab puppy name Odin in January. She has taken him on daily walks since February and we have had nothing short of spectacular service. He get so excited to see her every time she comes to pick him up, it is clear she treats him and takes care of him like he is one of her own. We either get a note or text after each visit to let us know how he did. There was one time when Anita went above and beyond to help our puppy when he needed it the most. A couple months ago Odin swallowed an industrial size needle with thread still attached; we are still not sure where or how he found the needle. He showed no signs of distress and we had no indication that anything was wrong. Anita took him out for his walk, and when it became apparent that he was having trouble going to the bathroom she immediately called me at work, let me know something was wrong, and proceeded to rush him to our local vet. She called me again from the Vet's office to let me know he was being cared for which put me at ease while I was running out of work to get to him. Luckily Odin was okay, the needle didn't do any internal damage, and the Vet was able to help him pass it without any lasting damage. Had Anita not intervened the situation could have ended drastically different. Even the staff at the Vet's office commented about how great she was with him. I can not say enough positive things about our experience and I would recommend Kat's Dog Walking to anyone who wants a trustworthy dog walker that will truly care about their family member. read more

Kat's dog walking, and Katherine are amazing. Katherine has been walking my dog Zoe for over a year and I can't say enough good things about her and the care she provides for my high energy dog. On the days that I am working from home when Kat comes to pick up Zoe - I know instantly when Katherine is pulling up the street because my dog starts to wag her tail, runs to the stairs and waits (yes- actually waiting like a kid on Christmas Morning ) for Kat to open the door. Overall, Katherine is communicative about what is going on with Zoe. She goes above and beyond to provide this first time dog owner with insight on obedience or general dog problems (for example how to walk this overly energetic and powerful dog down the street and not the other way around). I have absolutely no worries when Zoe is out with Katherine whether it be for a few hours or when I have left for over a few days - I know that Kat is providing the leadership and care that my dog requires and enjoys. read more

Do not use Kat's Dog Walking for your pet. This story is very difficult to repeat, but I think its only fair that pet owners know everything about a dog walker before hiring them. On 4/17/15 our beloved puppy Charlie was killed while out with his dog walker from Kat's Dog Walking. We hired Kat's to take Charlie on two 30 minute walks a day, Monday through Friday. Being a relatively nice day, Charlie's walker decided that she would take him to the park in her car. On the way to the park, Charlie's walker left our six month old, 19 lb, puppy in the back seat of her car without anything to hold him down and with the windows open as she drove. Charlie jumped out the window and was crushed to death by her car. After she hit him, she didn't take him to our vet (who was half a mile away), call the vet, or even call us. She called her boss who called us sometime after the fact. Charlie died right there in the middle of the street. While not intentional, Charlie was ultimately killed by the very people hired to look after him due to her extreme carelessness and reckless disregard for basic safety measures (i.e. not leaving a car window completely open with a puppy unsecured in the backseat of a car while driving to a location she did not have permission to take him to). The dog walker did not have permission to take Charlie out in her car, and she did not ask for permission to take him to Castle Island on this day. Kat did not fire that dog walker since she killed Charlie. We saw her walking our neighbor's dogs just last Thursday, 5/7/2015. Charlie is dead and nothing will ever bring him back, and his dog walker still walks dogs for Kat's today. We researched the various South Boston dog walkers intensively prior to hiring Kat's. I know that if we had seen that something like this had happened previously, we would have used a different walker. So while we are unable to bring Charlie back, we just wanted to let people know what happened to us so that they can make a fully informed decision in the future. read more

We had Katherine take care of our pup while we were out of town for a few days. We went by her house and met her and some dogs she was watching at the time, and our dog just loved her and the other dogs. She sent us text and pictures updates of how he was doing. He went and played at the park and went on lots of walks. He seemed like he had a great time and came home a happy, healthy and very tired puppy! I've had dog walkers before, but Katherine is hands down the best. My hyper beabull is always nicely tuckered out after his mid-day trips to the dog park with her. When he sees her come in, he gets more excited than I've seen him be around anyone--including me. She is very accomodating and goes above and beyond what I would expect out of a dog walker. For my friend's dog that was barking, she even took the time to do some training while at the dog park. Doesn't get any better. read more
