Yummy and cute little japanese cafe! This cafe is quaint, there's only a handful of tables inside. My friend and I both ordered lunch specials ($14.75) that come with an entree, a salad, and an appetizer of choice. I thought that the value of the meal was phenomenal! I really enjoyed my chicken katsu sandwich. It was flavorful and crispy and the bread was slightly toasted. The salad was very yummy, I love a good sesame dressing. The sandwich was a smaller portion, which was perfect for a light snack. And the apps were alright, there were only a few pieces, but the portion makes sense for the pricing. The karaage was very juicy and came with a side of dipping sauce. I wish there was also a lemon wedge to add a bit of acid. We also got the happy hour deal ($7.50) and got a matcha latte and a creme brulee. The matcha was solid, maybe a bit grainy, but still yummy. The creme brulee was surprisingly very sweet and came to the table first. The service was quick and friendly. You pay at the front of the counter vs. a check. So this is more of a quick and casual spot. The interior is very inviting but could be a bit cleaner. Our table needed a wipe down for sure but nothing too crazy. Despite a few minor improvements, I thought that the food was comforting, the vibe was good, and the service and value was great. I will for sure be back to try out more items! Found this gem on Too Good To Go, and the $9.99 surprise bag is an incredible value! The first time, I got BBQ chicken, rice, veggies, soup, and a refreshing drink. The next time was curry chicken with all the sides. For a Saturday afternoon, I'm surprised it wasn't busy; I was seated right away. I ended up ordering the Japanese Egg Sando. It was supposed to come with fruit or salad, but they were out of fruit. I got neither, but I did get some crunchy cinnamon sugar bread things. I wasn't a fan personally because I tasted the oil - maybe it needed replacing? As for the egg sando, it was pretty good. Well seasoned, good portioned, not too oily, and was not under/over cooked. The salad on the side complimented the chicken well. The soup broth was rich, and a nice end to the meal. Settles very well in the stomach. The Thai tea was also strong-bodied, not too sweet, and complimented the meal. While this wasn't for dine-in, the interior felt home-y. And although brief, the service was swift. While they accidentally made only 2 portions out of 3 that was ordered, it was quickly corrected. I got 3 boxes of one big chicken breast w/white rice, house salad, caramelized onions w/pork based veggie soup. Soup wasn't my thing because I could definitely smell the strong smell of pork and it was over powering and way too salty for mine and my husband's taste. I love little cafe like Katsuco. They know what they're doing! Their menu isn't so extensive that you're confused at what it is they're specializing in. They have some sandwiches, some bowls, some drinks. Easy! We went inside, were greeted and placed our order at the counter. The girl that helped us were so kind and welcoming.
