I'm kind of confused by the negative reviews for Katysface facials - I've had facials all over the country and the world and paid $100s of dollars for one. Katysface is for sure 'no frills' as one reviewer mentioned, but it was *great* and as good if not better than many I've had. She is extremely knowledgeable and kind and you can really tell she understands (all different kinds of) skin. I booked a Groupon for me and my friend for $27 each (for a $68 Rejuvenating Collagen Facial). She offered us appointments with very little advance notice and then was super understanding about pushing our appointments back even though it wound up being after closing hours! She took so much time with both of us and is such a talented, kind, friendly, and hardworking woman. Our facials went way over the 50 minutes they were supposed to be, she offered us cake and tea with *dried roses* after. She did ask for the tax up front (which is standard practice for beauty groupons) and she did tell us about the products she used during the facial after (also pretty standard practice after a spa service), but I did not find her at all pushy. Both my friend and I feel our skin looks at least 5-10 years younger and we feel SO R E L A X E D. I think that Katy is an excellent aesthetician, especially if you are looking for an affordable way to take care of your skin regularly. If you are looking for luxury spa ambiance, it may not be what you are looking for, but it was a fantastic facial and experience. read more

Went in to get microdermabrasion and a collegian facial. I felt so at home and relaxed before, during and even after the treatment when I was given a cup of honey water and candies. I have to say my experience at Katysface was unlike any other, because it was very intimate and one-on-one. She also included a facial mist and high frequency treatment in as a free gift. The skincare products she used on my skin were all-natural and very soothing. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking to add some pep to their skin. read more

Looking for a new place to get regular facials, decided to purchase a package for collagen facials and give it a try. The place is no frills but Katy was knowledgeable with the process and took her time to explain the products she was using on me. They all smelled amazing. The type of facial I purchased didn't include extractions, but now i know for the future. The collagen package seems perfect for now especially with the dry winter season coming. I rated Katysface Beauty Spa one star because of my horrible experience. They insisted on getting paid upfront which I regret having done. They took $1,000 from me and I did not get what I paid for. When I said I wanted my money back I was told they could not and would not do that. The only option they gave me was to take a store credit for other services. Given how much they botched up my procedure the last thing I wanted to do is ever have them touch me again. So I am out $1,000. read more

One of the best fascial I have ever received! I purchased and booked the appointment the same day, they were incredibly accommodating despite it being last minute. It was a 80 minutes Aromessence Collagen Facial, Amy took great care of my skin, she explained everything she did, and was very professional. I left relaxed and with the most glowing skin I have had after 80 minutes. I met my friend for drinks at night and she commented on how glowing my skin was and how good I looked. Her prices are affordable, she is such a lovely person and I have never felt better about my skin. She takes her time and explains everything to you. Never does she ever rush through a facial. I started going to her when she was at her location on Mott Street, she has now moved to Canal Street. Although it is a bit out of my way now, I will "never" go anywhere else! TERRIBLE. Don't buy the deal and do not come here. Didn't have my reservation on the books so they chose to double book me and alternated between me and another client and 2 aestheticians. Left the steamer on my face for 20 minutes. Relentlessly tried to sell me a different facial claiming I bought the wrong facial for my type of skin while arguing with me. Poked around my forehead for 2 minutes with a tool while on the cell phone, apparently these are "extractions". Rubbed on some random lotions and I'm pretty sure what was just water on my face. Left me laying there for another 15 minutes. 50 minutes later of very tense patience, I walked out. Apparently still expected me to tip after roughly 10 minutes of service and 40 minutes of just lying there because I "already paid for the service". No privacy when getting dressed. Lifebooker didn't offer me a refund because the salon refused it. read more
