I just recently was able to give LIWEI a try, using a Groupon for a facial. My facial was with Queenie, and she was superb at her Craft. My facial started off with a cleansing ritual, very gentle very thorough. Followed by a lengthy facial massage which I cannot stress enough. We do not realize how badly we need these things to take care of our skin. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity. Followed by a steam session with light extraction, and then some oil, and then Queenie began the Gua sha treatment and then finally a cold mask and I was left to relax for about 10 minutes with that mask on. the entire session was just over an hour and it was 100% worth the value. I found out about Liwei when I saw a deal for a custom facial and shoulder massage on Pulsd. I've only gotten a facial one other time, so I was looking forward to feeling pampered. I made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance and they texted me a few days beforehand to confirm the appointment. When I arrived, I showed them the voucher and was led to a room to change into a tubular top. When my esthetician, Moon, returned, she started on the facial. I have really dry skin so she recommended the cleansing facial as opposed to microdermabrasion which she said would be more dehydrating. She started by applying lots of lotion to My face and vigorously applying it. Then she steamed my face for about ten minutes. After my pores were open, she began extracting any impurities from my skin. It's a little painful since they have to use a needle, but nothing unbearable. Next, she applied a facial mask on me. Finally we ended with the shoulder massage and another round of lotion on my face. In the end, my face felt so radiant. Before my session, it was really dull and dry. I could definitely notice a difference. My fiance who also did a facial noticed that all his blackheads had been removed. Overall, I thought the Pulsd deal was a great value. It's not a luxury spa or anything but the experience was relaxing and the facility seemed clean. They also do microblading and eyelash extension there too. My one critique is that they can be a little bit pushy with selling follow-up services. When we were ready to pay the tip, I felt like they were hovering over us and trying to get us to buy a package for more sessions. I didn't want to have to decide in the moment. First time doing lash lift at Liwei (I have done lash lift elsewhere before), and sadly also first time giving a one star review because it just cannot get worse than this. I feel the need to share my experience so no one else has to go through this. First of all (I should've seen this as a red flag), they make you pay before you receive service, which is quite weird. This is my first time having to pay before receiving beauty services. (I didn't purchase their service on Groupon. I just made a regular booking) My technician was not gentle with my eyes at all. She was rubbing / cleaning my eye pretty hard prior to the lash lift treatment. Which already gave me a bad feeling because when it comes to eyes & lashes, it's so delicate and sensitive you would assume extra care would be taken when working around the area. I fell asleep during the treatment, but I woke up from time to time and know that my technician has repeated the lash lift procedure 2-3 times. She explained that my eyes were watery so the lashes didn't curl well, and she was going to re-do it. (Um maybe because you weren't gentle at all and kept rubbing/poking my eye that's why my eyes were watery? She also accidentally rubbed my actual eye ball as she was trying to clean off the glue or something, of course my eyes would tear up) It wasn't until my technician's next customer arrived that she finally gave up trying to repeat the procedure again on my lashes. She didn't even dare give me a hand held mirror or ask me to look into the mirror on the wall. Before I even get a chance to see how bad it is or said anything about it, as she was walking out of the room, she said if I'm not satisfied with the result I can come back and they'll redo it for free next time. I tried to ask what happened and if it had happened to other customers. They were being vague and said sometimes it's the glue, sometimes it's the technician. Anyways that means it had happened before. Their only solution is that I could come back and they'll re-do it for free. So I think throughout the whole lash lift treatment, there was probably too much chemicals or it stayed on my lashes for too long (as she repeated the procedure 2-3 times), my lashes were so badly damaged. If you look at the photos, my lashes now look like pubes. A few of the lower lashes were also damaged and is now pointing upwards. God knows how long I'll have these pubes lashes until they "go back to normal" or if new ones would grow out? My technician had the face to give me her tip envelope after this. Can you believe it? I went in to do a Deep Cleansing facial. I dont recommend, way too overpriced and is a basic and superficial service. Liwei Beauty uses very cheap product, you can tell from the smell and texture. They also used a very cheap sheet mask that you could purchase from Walmart and left it on my face for 30 min. They ask you to pay a $4 tax and 18% tip when the tip should be at the discretion of the customer. I wouldnt go again or suggest to friends and family. read more

I signed up for the microdermabrasion and Moon assessed my skin and recommended against it and suggested the three-in-one facial instead (cleansing, pore, detox, hydro-lifting) and I really appreciate it as I don't know anything about facials! I also read the website and it stated that they will price match so you don't have to purchase vouchers from the third-party site (Groupon, pulsed). so I book the appointment and head to the spa. upon arrival I'm greeted by the aesthetician and she asked me which service I was interested in I told her the deep pore facial or the three in one facial. I asked her to assess my skin to figure out which treatment would be better for me, she looked at the add I showed her and decided to go with the oxygen, hydro lifting and deep pore detox facial. She didn't assess my skin and said it was better for me (it was a higher priced facial deep pore was $67 and the other was $83) - Their equipment is old and not high functioning. The steamer is weak - not enough to open the pores for a deep clean. Throughout the facial you hear the receptionist negotiating deals and confirming appointments. However, it had been a couple of months since my last facial and I had a few more blackheads than usual. Nothing crazy but definitely was looking forward to extractions. Ellis immediately started grilling me about my skincare routine and everything she thought was wrong with it. (As if I don't know how to take care of myself.) I use too many brands, I don't exfoliate enough, etc. She kept on saying how "congested" my skin was and making me feel like I'm a slob for not dedicating my life solely to getting facials. I wanted to say, "Yes, I am aware that I have blackheads. That's why I'm here. If I had perfectly poreless, doll-like skin, I would not be in need of your services." -_- It was obvious the negging was an upsell tactic, especially at the end when she tried to sell me a package and said I need to come back every two weeks (!) for services. Admittedly, but for the running critique, the facial wasn't terrible, so I asked her for some time to think about it. She started with high-pressure tactics (i.e. sense of urgency) and that's where they lost me. TLDR: Try it out if you've got Groupon bucks to blow and want a decent, inexpensive facial. I came to Liwei for a facial deal that I got on Pulsd. $49 for a 60 minute facial, which is valued at $150. There were different facial options, but my aesthetician didn't ask and instead evaluated by skin and recommended a certain type, which I really appreciated. Initially, I was thinking about the gua sha facial, but I'm glad she did the oxygen facial because it hydrated my skin 1000% The studio itself is quite small, no frills. I believe there are only 2-3 rooms from what I saw. The lady across was getting a massage, and I could hear all their dialogue, but I wasn't bothered. I was really impressed by the results of my facial. I had a lot of rough, dry areas that I couldn't fix with thick moisturizer. My skin hates NY winters! but the effects lasted about a week, and my skin was so smooth and hydrated. I felt like my skin care products at home worked even better and my makeup application was smoother. I found this place @ Groupon when there was a promotion for extra 20/25% off. My total about $200. A little history, I had ombre brows done in Brooklyn 2-3 years ago where it was uneven. Then went to Korea a year ago, had a 4/6D brow done where they color corrected, microbladed the front and ombre for the end of my brows. However the color faded 50% and the front of my brows is barely visible anymore. So I've decided it's time for a touch up/re-do. Arrived here actually 10min late d/t MTA . Came up the elevator and the office was legit at 10-11AM where they can see u coming out of the elevator. There were 4-5 beautician cramped up behind the desk. Came in and filled out a general intake form and a consent regarding the procedure which took less than 5min. Was also informed then tax was not included and would need to pay an extra $21 after she redeemed my voucher. But honestly, it's fine. Then I went into the room behind the front desk. Numbing cream for 30 min then another 10 cus it was till painful. She then drew my brows in. The whole process was painless and I love the result. They suggest a healing gel for $20. I showed her a reference picture of what I wanted beforehand and emphasized that I wanted something natural, but the results were still way too dramatic for my liking and honestly looked nothing like what I had asked for. My consultation with her also felt extremely rushed. On top of that, I had made an appointment for 11:30, but still had to wait an extra 20 minutes. This review is belated but I got my brows microbladed at Liwei Beauty in March 2019 and touched up in May 2019. It's safe to say that microblading changed my life! My brows are quite light and sparse - and it was a big insecurity of mine. After getting my brows microbladed, it helped me feel more confident without putting much/any effort into my brows. The microbladed brows were very dark initially but looked very natural after the healing process. The ladies at Liwei Beauty will take care of you although there is some pain during the process, the numbing cream helps tremendously. The only downside is how pushy they are with you paying more right before a service, would be a much better experience if they focused on what was agreed, rather than making more money. I purchased a Groupon for microblading at Liwei. After my microblading procedure, they scheduled an appointment a month out for my touch up. Come day of touch up, I arrive for my appointment and they ask me for $100 before making any adjustments. That fee was never communicated to me. I was told it was "in fine print" on the Groupon voucher, but I still feel misled. Usually places include touch ups and had I been told I would have just gone to my regular spot and paid full price because it would even out. I guess it's my fault for not missing it (if it's truly in the voucher in tiny print), but I find it frustrating that they didn't say anything until the day of my "follow up" appointment.
