This company's customer service is horrible. They allow you to purchase items they don't have in stock. They send an email that your entire order shipped, followed the next day by another email that they are refunding you for items that were out of stock. These items were still showing available on the website at that time. I called customer service asking what they were going to do as I am not placing another order just for the out of stock items and have to pay shipping. They told me that is their policy. Received a follow up email from their customer service manager that they don't pay for short shipments (items when they come back in stock). Horrible customer service. They don't care about their customers. Won't buy from them again. read more

I that like their glutenfree donut holes and toaster pastries BUT.....I decided to try their Oat bread... Not a good product....I emailed the company and told them that the slices fell apart as you were getting then out of the packaging..... Their solution...... Steam the slices as you need themto put back moisture into the bread! What the heck!? I paid $ 14.98 for two loaves of bread that I can't even get out of their packaging before they CRUMBLE before I can even get them somehow "steamed" before I can use them! I had also ordered toaster pastries and they sent me 1 wrong flavor... For that, they refunded me the 99¢(it was on sale) yet no refund on 2 loaves that cost me $14.98! The price, quality of the product and poor customer service prevent us from recommending this company for any reason. Two members of our family require gluten free diets, medically. We have a lot of experience with gluten free product providers. I strongly suggest you find an alternate provider if you have concerns about serving mold free, gluten free products to your friends and family. It's now the fourth day and I haven't even received a shipping confirmation. No response to my email asking if order has been shipped. Even though the food is delicious, the customer service is non-existent. Promoted discounts weren't applied and my three emails to them have been completely ignored over a period of three weeks now. I have ordered a lot of food from these guys, but I have decided to no-longer do business with them. It's a shame, but the least they could have done was answer my emails and I know that they were received, because I got the automated response emails. Be careful ordering from Katz. I had ordered up around $70 in frozen treats a couple weeks ago, so not a huge order or anything like that. They said on their website that items were taking longer to ship due to the current Covid crisis (~10 days longer according to their website), which is understandable. The only problem is that I got no shipping confirmation from them, and the order was shipped the day after I placed the order. Because I had the order sent to my other house, I did not know to go see if it arrived yet, which meant the box was sitting outside in the sun for over two days before they updated the order page to show that item was actually shipped and delivered. Needless to say, everything was already spoiled. In summary, they might make decent gf treats, but there customer service and shipping is down right terrible. read more

To avoid the double speak description of the shipping policies and feeling like you have been conned, do not bother paying for overnight shipping. Because even after you order in the morning long before the posted cut of time...you will not get anything over night. Their version of over night is three or four days later if your lucky. The products themselves are great. Just the communication and customer service is non existence. No email is answered...no phone messages answered..no text on social media is answered. I had a large order of mini muffins from Katz and three of the 14 boxes arrived soggy and moist in 80 degree Texas weather. They grilled me about how I stored them and what I must've done to the boxes for a good 20 mins before deciding they would only refund one of the boxes. Mind you, the three I requested the refund for arrived SOGGY AND MOIST IN TEXAS and they tried to convince me that they were actually fine and not refundable. Won't be ordering from them again. A $15 refund wasn't worth keeping my business, when I make large orders to stock up every winter, and have given them hundreds of dollars over the years. The best gluten free donuts I have had. We use an air fryer to crisp them up. They are as good as they get. The best so far have been cinnamon sugar and the glazed. To be clear the ones I have tried are available in the frozen section at sprouts not fresh from the bakery. read more

I am gluten free myself and I always find myself eating gluten free cookies ALL day. For Christmas my daughter bought me the gluten free Creme cakes. They were amazing and we went back on the site to order more! I couldn't believe she found what I've been looking for. It was a Groupon deal. About a third of the goods I received were expired. There was an open container of cookies. Doesn't appear to be tampered with, but it wasn't sealed correctly. I tried only the cookies and the cinnamon rolls and they were good. I'm tossing the expired stuff. It didn't come frozen or if it was when it left the factory then it thawed because it wasn't packaged correctly. I was disappointed. read more

Avoid purchasing any gluten free products from Katz! I purchased hamburger buns from Katz through Amazon. It took this company 2 weeks to get the order to me. When I got the package, I found the hamburger buns were stale, old, and fell apart upon opening. I took a taste of one of the broken buns and it was absolutely horrible, tasteless, but stale and not fit to make a good hamburger or sandwiches. Moreover, I immediately submitted a complaint to Amazon about the product and requested to return the buns to Katz who were slow to respond. When they finally replied, they wanted me to answer a list of 8 questions. I did answer the question through the Amazon website, and did so on a word document. Katz also required photos of the broken stale buns. The Amazon website wouldn't upload the photos, though. I did send the photos, though, to Amazon via an email through Katz. Katz continued to ignore my request and would not respond. After speaking with management at Amazon, they refunded me in full, but also noted that the company had other complaints. I did tell another manager at Amazon that I ended up returning the hamburger buns to Katz on my own. Katz has been notified by USPS that they need to pick up the package, but in their usual MO, Katz has ignored the request from the Post Office in Mountainville, NY, and has refused to picked up their nasty, stale hamburger buns. I made every effort to get this resolved but I assure you, this company does not care one bit about customer service or customer satisfaction; Katz Gluten Free Bake Shop only cares about the money. Their gluten free foods are frozen prior to sale as they had a note in my package the buns had been frozen and telling me to freeze them as soon as I received the package. So, their foods are not at all fresh which completely explains why their gluten free items are stale and old. But the fact that the customer doesn't matter, and that they refused to refund my money for the stale buns, clearly shows their indifference to customer satisfaction and customer service...it's all about the money to this cheesy company and I advise people who have to be on a gluten free diet to stay far away from buying from Katz! I actually find many good gluten free products at Sprouts, Trader Joe's and other local grocers. They cost a lot less than the prices Katz charges for stale, nasty tasting gluten free products. read more

Buyer beware....the last three orders I made had missing or wrong product and the last order I have been waiting 3 weeks for. When you call you get rude customer service reps who will inform you all sales are final and your only options are to be out the money for order altogether or get a 20% discount for future orders. When you place your order they will charge you immediately and can wait up to three weeks to ship out your order. You will be out money and no product. Once product arrives you can guarantee at least one of the items will be wrong so now you get to call their customer service department and be told nothing they can do but offer a discount to screw up future orders. Save your money and heartache and find a company that treats their customers with care and respect. At minimum find a company that will actually send orders timely and accurately and if they can't, makes it right. read more

Let me start of by saying I'm not allergic to gluten nor do I have celiac...I just prefer to avoid it if possible. As a result I've gotten myself comfortable with alternative flours like almond, rice, etc--I can't be bothered with making my food an experiment so I avoid the xanthan gums, sorghums etc. Katz ran a groupon for $20 for $40 worth of gluten free stuff so figured why not. It was expiring so I needed to place my order. I ended up ordering like 10 different items, I was really concerned with where I was going to store everything as $40 worth of baked goods one would assume would take up a lot of space. Not so much, these are some tiny baked goods. I will update this review after I try some of the other items, but so far based on opening the box, and trying an english muffin....Eh. I ordered, vanilla rugelach, raspberry hammentashcen?, dinner rolls (about 2.5" diameter seriously), english muffins (4), carrot muffins (4), honey muffins (6), chocolate cupcakes (4), and a chocolate loaf thing. All of the items are pretty small in my opinion. I tried an english muffin today with my lunch. it was all sunken in on the one side so not really able to split it properly....I toasted it slightly because our work toaster takes for fricken ever...it was ok. No flavor really just texture. I'm hopeful that the baked goods will be better but considering I spend essentially $30 ($20groupon plus $10 extra spent for free shipping), I'm kind of unimpressed. I guess I shouldn't complain because I can eat the regular baked stuff. Either way I'll prob stick to making my own stuff from now on. For those who are scared to work with nongluten baking stuff or just don't like baking then sure try them out. I prob won't be reordering....but....i'll update. Otherwise because I am close to their facility they shipped in one day and ship frozen so everything came thru nice and fresh. read more
