I originally signed him up to give him more socialization with other children, but it became so much more than that for him. He was a late walker and all of the different gymnastics activities really gave him the confidence to explore his own mobility. He also really loves the music portion of the class. Each class is about 45 minutes long. The music portion changes themes each month, while the gymnastics activities change weekly. The instructor Aysha is really great with the kids. She is very patient and sweet with the little ones and helps them through each step of the class. This place is a great find especially here on the west side of Kauai where activities can be limited.

My sister and I discovered Kauai CrossFit three years ago when there was a tiny gym right on the beach in Kapa'a, and couldn't be more excited to see it grow into the phenomenal space they have now in Lihue (sadly, Jerome announced in May 2014 that the Kapa'a location is now closed). My family every year stays on the South Side in Poipu, so the drive to Lihue isn't ridiculously far (but mo bettah than going to Kapa'a); about 20 minutes. There's also a CF gym in Poipu, but when my sister and I asked about class times/open gym/hours there, they were INSANELY rude to us so we said, screw it, it's worth driving out to Lihue to hang out with Jerome and the amazing and nice people who were working out there. Jerome's outfitted the gym with a lot of really awesome (and new!) Rogue equipment, with a ton of rowers, barbells, rings, a nice pull up rig with good grips, and other miscellaneous CrossFit toys & "things". My sister and I hit up Open Gym twice, and both times we were met with smiles from the locals working out and Jerome's laid back attitude and willingness to make sure that we had what we needed to work out. They've got clean bathrooms, good parking, enough space to where you can "do your own thing", and most of all, a great attitude when it comes to welcoming drop-ins. Much mahalo Jerome, we always look forward to making sure we stop by to say hi and get a workout in!

The locker rooms were spotless, the atmosphere was positive, and the overall energy of the gym made working out actually enjoyable. It's clear I've developed a lot of strength from this workout that incorporates ballet, yoga, and mat Pilates moves and I'm grateful it's part of my weekly routine. I've never felt more comfortable in a group fitness setting. The teachers are welcoming, kind, and super knowledgeable. The students come from a range of ages and skillsets and add to the great vibes. I appreciate the instructors' discrete corrections to form, explanations about poses, breathing cues, and variety of moves incorporated into the flow. Barre classic and back to the basics help you work on form and the muscle groups tackled are super obvious. Barre inspire and bold are creative and fly by with the light changes. There are also a good amount of yoga classes offered with excellent instructors that make yoga approachable and fun. I have nothing but praise for this studio that Anna has cultivated.

Each had its own personality and vibe, but Alaka'i CrossFit had a different energy that kept me coming back for more. The size of the gym itself is huge, and includes three bathrooms and two showers. The equipments are well maintained, and the members do a great job of cleaning up after themselves. The programming is awesome! I've had a few friends try out Alaka'i CrossFit, and they all loved the programming and the coaching. The coaches here are very helpful and motivating. We actually get coached. But back to what made me call this place my home-box... the energy is hype! The members here are so inviting and encouraging. They made me feel welcomed from day one. I was a drop in that became a member, who then made friends, and now im a part of this Ohana... I love this place!

We moved into a pavilion, and they were improvisational and engaged with the guests, including the parents, with the activities they could try in a smaller space. We had a great time. I accidentally overpaid, and Ronja was pleasant and swiftly refunded the excess amount. We highly recommend Circus Olina!!

Six years of crossfit and I've visited half a dozen boxes but this place was a joke. Members were friendly but Bethany had a thin mask of friendliness and micromanaged everything from no chalk to no water in the gym. She even told me at one point during the lift to not push too hard since I'm on vacation. Due to the small size of the gym, even though I paid for a full week, there was no option for staying after to work on any lifts in my current cycle, and was told open gym time is only for members. Needless to say I won't be going back. Even though I paid for a week and only used two days, I'd rather check out another local box.
