Kauai Vet clinic is the best vet clinic hands down! My wife & I are Kaua'i born and raised Native Hawaiians with our now 102lb American Pitbull named Fatboy. Our ohana went to many clinics on island but none could top this clinic. We first trusted Kauai vet a few months ago with our 12yo old lady Brindle/Blue pitbull named Fatgirl, this clinic provided the most reliable and optimal care for our fatgirl who was going through a rough time dealing with the symptoms of her cancer. They helped us put fatgirl to rest and took very good care of us giving us MANY options, treating us with aloha, patience and compassion. Kauai vet clinic doctors AND staff took very good of our old lady and just met our Fatboy for the first time yesterday with the same care and attention. Their emergency fee is also a lot cheaper than most clinics. We will continue to trust kauai vet as they've been really good to us and our fur babies. I brought my 4 month old shitzu chihuahua dog named Buddah to the Kauai veterinary clinic in Puhi industrial on November 6 2023 because he ate aji no moto and as many of you know it's a really bad ingredient it fluctuates in blood pressure so I taught it would have been worse for a dog because he wasn't drinking water or eating food just vomiting foam for 3 days because of the incident so we starting to force fed him and he's gotten a little better but not fully 100% so I brought him in and let the vets know wat was going on so the veterinary examed him and said it was an emergency exam so they took him into the room did another exam made me sign some paper on a quote didn't really explain much on how much it would have cost and what I was really paying for and to proceed on after the papers were done they took him to do blood work gave him back then they took him to do x-ray gave him back then took him again to do shots they gave him Cerenia and famotidine to stop the vomiting and also gave him fluids cause he wasn't eating or drinking. later when we got home around 11:30am same day Buddah has gotten a lot worser then he was before we brought him into the vet it was really devastating for me and my family to go thru this because we trusted the veterinarians told them our notes that we have been noticing with Buddah but on the other hand they are veterinarians so if they seen something else wrong they should be the one to diagnose him and let us know because he was starting to get weaker and weaker as we left started popping blood etc all together the bill was not cheap and this is not fair now we are literally watching our pup suffer and suffer if we knew we would have rather have him put to sleep then watch him suffer. But we will never give up on him we have all the faith he will make it thru. read more

5 stars+++ for Dr. Bethany Bushe, her technician, & team. Our new 6 month old kitten was spayed and then she ran after 5 days and the incision opened and her insides were outside. This happened @ 10:30pm. I found an emergency# on the answering machine and woke up Dr. Bushe. Long story short, Dr. Bushe and her technician met us within 1/2 hour and performed surgery right away for over 3 hours. We can't put into words how grateful we are as our kitten healed very quickly and is back to normal, as playful as ever with our Kaua'i rescue cat! Miracle Dr. Bethany and Miracle kitten!!! I recently adopted an adult cat from 9th life cat sanctuary and brought him to Kauai Veterinary Clinic for his first visit for an overall health check up. I had such a great experience here from making my appointment to seeing Dr. Mike Woltman. The staff was very professional and welcoming. I was impressed at the fact that the staff asked questions about his history ie. where he was adopted, if he was previously indoor or outdoor, does he hunt geckos or birds. I didn't understand the importance of these questions until his examination. Given the nature of his condition, Dr. Mike advised me of afflictions that my cat may have or be exposed to. For example, a cat that was previously outdoors that hunted birds may suffer from a condition where they overly groom their hindquarters. He also pointed out my cats gingivitis and the fact that I was clearly feeding him too much. He said that although my cat is indoors only, if he does hunt geckos, geckos carry something that could affect my cats liver health and he suggested a shot to protect against this happening. I appreciated all of his points of concerns and more importantly what I could do to address them. He thoroughly showed and explained what he saw in my cats condition and the staff provided a detailed cost estimate of what was recommended. They would only proceed if I agreed to the recommendations, which were optional. I appreciated the doctor taking the time to explain each recommendation, but ultimately leaving it up to me proceed. I am so happy to have a vet that communicates his concerns for my pet and addresses mine as well. read more

We took our cat recently to see Dr Mike. He is a good vet and seems to be very knowledgeable. Very calm and to the point. However the vet assistant was really rough with our poor kitty. She did not know how to hold her well while Dr Mike examined her. Our cat's ears were squashed in her death grip the whole time n her eyes looked like they were going to pop out. I didn't want to say anything at that time as I didn't want to disrupt Dr Mike's examination. I'm no expert but isn't it easier for both the vet n the cat to hv the animal lay on their side while you examine the hind leg? Needless to say I don't plan on ever going back. There's no way I'll let anyone manhandle my cat the way she did. read more

Friendly staff and great service! Clean office in the Puhi industrial area by Sherwin Williams (Look for the blue building). Easily made a first time appointment by phone and only waited about 10 mins to be seen. Vladi helped us first and Dr. Casey Milnes was very calm and she explained everything during my dog's exam. No hidden fees. They discuss everything before they do it. No pressure in getting any procedure or treatment done. I'm so happy to find a reliable clinic. I recommend bringing your pet here. I just brought my dogs from the mainland and had their first check up with Dr. Mike at the Kauai Vet Clinic. Nice knowledgeable staff and Dr. Mike was good about spending the time with each dog and doing a thorough exam, and took the time to explain all the parasites and Buffo toads and all the dangers and concerns about keeping animals healthy on the island . I was referred by a friend who had to put her dog down and the staff all sent her a card and called and checked on her after the dog was put down to see how she was doing. If I could give this clinic 0 stars, I would. I took in a kitten that I found in poor condition to be treated there. The kitten had no ID or microchip. I came back home and there was a woman at my house saying that I had her kitten. She said a friend at the clinic told her that a kitten matching her description was brought in. This woman knew my physical description and the conversation I had while there. Someone at the clinic gave away my personal information. Go somewhere else. People there can't be trusted. read more

First, I want to sincerely thank the entire staff at Kauai Veterinary Clinic for saving the life of my sweet dog, for which I will never be able to express how much it means to me. All the staff are kind, compassionate, educated and helpful. I brought my 95lb American Bulldog in with what turned to be a cancerous tumor for which they immediately scheduled surgery for him the next day (after Dr Beth had multiple doctors inspect the biopsy at the clinic just to make sure surgery was necessary). The day of the surgery I stayed at the clinic and the front desk staff would constantly update me on how the procedure was going. I can't explain how much this eased my anxiety. The surgery was a success, but after bringing him home there were some complications with the pain medication and he had an adverse affect. (It should be noted that he is allergic to just about everything under the sun, as it turns out). Regardless, Dr Beth was receptive to my 20 or more calls and went to the first of many extraordinary efforts by meeting me in the middle of the night to treat his emergency situation. She and her tech stayed all night with my dog and she continued to stay with him and treat him on her day off. She answered my calls every hour to update me on his status though out the night/day. Those hours were the scariest of my life, but Dr Beth went above and beyond and saw him through his darkest hours. He is home now and recovering and Dr Beth has called me many times to check in on him and for that alone, I cannot thank her enough. I highly recommend Kauai Veterinary Clinic as I am one of the hardest pet parents to please with a unique dog whom I thought I would never find a capable substitute for the care he received back on the mainland, but I was wrong. I have used this vet since moving to the island. The front office staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. They honor their appointment times and generally run on schedule. My dog can be aggressive towards other dogs and they have never made me feel bad, ashamed or uncomfortable about this. Instead they are helpful and loving towards my dog. The vet techs and doctors give honest advice and don't try and "sell" you products etc. that you don't need. I highly recommend this vet if you are looking for quality care for your animals. I drive over 45 minutes and pass by many other vet offices to go here. You should too! read more

Susana Pulawa is the best. My puppy Troubles had an emergency last week. He ate some chewing gum that had Xylitol in it. This is deadly to dogs. I called the emergency number and she answered immediately. She instructed me what I needed to do. She and her technician met me at the clinic at 10pm at night. She took my baby home and put an IV in him. His sugar dropped during the night and she started a Dextrose drip. I took him home the next couple nights and monitored his blood sugar and gave him Dextrose drips. Thank you Susana. You are the best!!!!!! read more

KVC is by far the best vet clinic on Kauai, and perhaps in Hawaii. All 3 of their vets are superb. Real high tech, latest, greatest technology mixed with a HUGE piece of love and heart felt care. Dr Susana Pulawa has saved 2 of our cats , performing very challenging surgeries under emergency conditions. She is skilled, knowledgeable, extremely communicative and caring. The staff is friendly and helpful and the clinic itself...well cared for and extremely clean. It is a top notch vet clinic ...and we are fortunate to have it right here on Kauai. As people, both of the former Woltmons, SUCK as human beings. I was SEVERELY injured while working there on a couple of occasions. The first time was due to Mike leaving open the former door, which he SCREAMED and Yelled at ANYONE WHO LEFT OPEN THAT DOOR!!I one day, I came back with a freaked out cat, and MICHAEL had left the door open. The cat in my hands Freaked out and proceeded to SHRED my hands and wrists. I KNEW I couldn't let go of the cat, becuz Michael had thoroughly threatened me & other techs/help veterinary technicians to never let go of an animal because we USED to be spitting distance from the cane fields, and if we let go, and the animal makes it to the cane fields, it was OUR jobs on the line. Eventually, over the years I worked there as a tech, along with a friend, chasing after 3 Vets. We made them look brilliant and made things SO easy! Eventually, after around 3 years of service, I foolishly thought I was part of a family. When the cat shredded my hands /wrists, they NEVER told me my rights, so I went unpaid for the time it took for my wounds to heal enough to return to work. Finally, after working 2 jobs simultaneously (the clinic plus taking care of the kennels) and being on call 24/7,in my 3rd year I started to I like I was sick becuz my neck and upper back began to constantly HURT. I finial went into see a Dr. who asked me when I was, "Last in an car accident!" I told him, "NEVER '. He put me in a neck brace and eurged me to do no lifting, but maybe 10#s.I was in charge of mobile clinic, and my partner was busy with the large animal vet all day. I had no choice but to lift the table, meds, etc. That morn we worked 2 dogs over 100#s on the ground (too big for the unattached mobile table), then a bitch (female dog who has given birth.) in excess of all over 110#s,who we Had to work on the ground, I TOLD my vet I had all points covered except the back left side, and to maintain that point. Instead, she took a fecal sample and walked away, leaving an already injured tech to be dragged across the parking lot. My neck went crunch, crunch, crunch. After receiving help, I felt dizzy and in pain. Long story short ;they tried to rip me off hundreds of dollars on my final pay check. I had to quit becuz I was in A G O N Y ALL THE TIME. I moved to get therapy In CA. I've suffered nearly 30 Years of explosive migraines, feeling like someone slammed me at the base of my skull with a baseball bat, in and out of the ER 3xs a week! I'm mostly a bed pt. now. I can barely walk with a cane. It took 26 yrs for the problem to be diagnosed. It's Torticolous. It's 1 of the MOST painful things your body can endure. I've been on Hardcore meds for 28 yrs. These people DESTROYED my life and have never even so much as to apologize. Joanne is an excellent soft tissue surgeon, etc, but Michael isn't functioning with a full deck.Neither give a DAMN about what they did to my life.. I understand there's a new vet there now, and she's been well received, however Mike and "Jo" leave a lot to be desired as human beings. read more

I cannot say enough good about this clinic and staff members Dr. Bethany Bush, Dr. Michael Woltman, Kristen, and several other staff members (sorry, I didn't catch names). My husband and I were vacationing on Kauai and found a poor starving puppy, covered with ticks and fleas and full of worms. The Humane Society said they did not have room for her. I called Kauai Veterinary Clinic and they made me an appointment immediately, and even gave me great driving directions to find them. The staff members were so sweet and gentle with this little pup. After checking for a microchip (none!) she got the full spa treatment. Doctor exam, a flea bath, tick removal, worm treatment, and puppy shots, all at an extremely reasonable price. They were even kind enough to board her for several days since the cottage where we were staying did not allow pets. When it was time to return home we flew her with us, and she is thriving.
