What a nice store. Great friendly clerk, and loves the in-house pets. We miss our puppy. Had to come in get our darling a little something.

I've been coming here about eight years for everything my dogs and cat need. They prefer Natural Balance foods, and this store has better prices than Amazon--and you get a discount for buying by the case! Spacious aisles, excellent selection of products, and the store is always clean and cool. The staff are always ready to help, and it seems like staff turnover is non-existent, because the same workers have been here since I've been coming. It's nice to have staff that are familiar to me and my pets' needs. I also love that they don't sell pets in an effort to encourage adoption. I don't get why others left negative reviews, because what they described is nothing like what I've witnessed. I will keep coming here. read more

Checked out this place. Entered the store and saw they have a good selection on pet needs. Very spacious store. Was hoping to see if they had live animals such as doggies, kitties, birds, fish etc but they didn't have any. The atmosphere seemed alittle dreary. Was not greeted. Just a smile from the salesperson and a "Do you have any questions?" after I smiled at her. Didn't buy anything. I'll stick with Petco. read more

My favorite pet store to stop when I'm in town. Everyone who works here is so helpful and knowledge. I love the options they have here with trusted brands and organic. It's a major asset for Kaua'i to have this store available to the locals. If I lived here, this would be THE place to get all my pet related supplies from. This is not only because they're only a handful of pet places to choose from, but they do an excellent job - even compared to mainland stores. This store is huge! Aisles are very well spaced out probably because bigger dogs are the norm here and they need room to roam on through if owners bring them. They carry a wide assortment of supplies for pets, but mostly/only dogs and cats. Food and toys seem to have the focus of this store's retail space. You can see that in the pictures I've posted it's quite remarkable how well organized and thorough they've covered many categories of pet needs and some luxuries. Usually when I'm on Hawaii, the establishments are more based on charming than professional. Natural Pet is definitely professional and I felt like I was in a pet store in LA. The food is what first stood out to me as they carry many of the top shelf commercial pet food brands we've come to expect in LA. Honest Kitchen, Solid God, Innova Evo, and others. We spent a good deal of time here, chatted with the woman who was the sole member on duty (she might have been the owner) and we purchased 2 tazlab dog collars that have a no buckle system that appeals to us, as well as two rubber football toys, and a tug toy of sorts. No we didn't have our dogs with us this time around, but since these are items we don't normally see in stores, we decided to grab them and of course show some support for local business. Apparently all the locals are getting to know this place bc we saw maybe 4-5 parties come on through mostly to get food supplies. Parking is ample and there is a dog care facility right next door, not sure if it's affiliated. One of the great things is that it's next to Mark's Place which is a cool place to grab some grub too. Nothing really negative to say, they hit it right on all fronts. I didn't have time to check prices, however on Kaua'i I figure there isn't much choice on paying a premium if you want this level of quality for your pets. read more

Efficient pet supply store with a great selection of quality and some hard to find products. Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience the stellar customer service everyone else has raved about. The buyer for the store is doing a great job...they had many products that I can't even find in Honolulu! In addition, they had a lot of puzzle and distraction toys for dogs...I'm always on the lookout for these as we already have a basketful of throw-around toys. Also noteworthy is their selection of canine outdoor/hiking/beach gear and pet beds...very comfy and good quality-not your typical fiberfill. I saw a small but useful section for cats, birds, and small animals. Good to know. As for service, we were the only ones shopping in the store with two associates but we were never approached or asked if we needed help even after circling the store a few times. I would still do business here but my first experience here was not "as good as it gets". read more

I drove from north shore , 45-50 min, to get a harness for my dog. The floors were being painted next to the harness and I couldn't pick one out, seriously?! No one bothers to say let me see if I can grab a few And we can look at them here by the cash register.... No one seemed to want to help it go out of their way.... Thank you Natural Pet Kauai!!! I was in need of a crate to ship my dog to the mainland. I figured that I would just order one from Amazon, but they don't ship the larger crates to Hawaii. So I tried Petco, but they didn't have any in stock and didn't know when the next one would be in. A friend recommended Natural Pet Hawaii. They were very helpful and knowledgable about shipping pets. They confirmed I needed an XL crate and were able to get me one within 2 days. I was happy just being able to purchase the crate and accessories. But on top of that, the cost of the crate was well over $100.00 cheaper than Petco and more than $30.00 cheaper than the price listed on Amazon. They answered all my questions and relieved much of my concerns about traveling with my pet. I had a five star experience!! read more

Love this place! I get everything for my dog here except dog food lately. Times have been too hard and dog food at costco is rated highly so, off to costco for food. However, toys, collars, leashes, bowls, treats, meds, soap etc all came from here. Jenny is super friendly and knowledgable. You can tell she really cares and has a passion for animals. Its such a breath of fresh air to be able to have nice things for our pets on Kauai. I did some price comparing and NPH is cheaper than anywhere else. Now don't compare them to walmart though, of course walmart is cheaper because that crap doesnt last. This stuff does. read more

I am one of those pet owners who actually read the ingredients of my dog food - basically if I wouldn't eat it I don't want my dog to. This pet store is awesome. Every bag of food they carry is made of the best dog food ingredients so I don't have to worry about reading every bag. Jenny was super cool about having my dog pick out her toys herself and new food bowl. We will definitely make the 2 hr drive once a month from the west side of Kauai to re-stock. read more

Only place on the island that carries Honest Kitchen Raw Food. I buy all my pups needs here. The owner is so friendly and attentive and carries the best of the best product at a reasonable price. I know that Jen has put lots of time and thought into the things that she carries in her store, so I don't have to worry that it some how wouldn't be good for my dog. Plus, things are much better quality and last longer from here than from any of the other stores around. So stoked for this place!!! It's hard to provide good pet care and food for your four legged fur babies here on Kauai with limited choices. Natural pet has a great selection and not over priced like Petco. I can get a natural dog food with meat veggies and all natural ingredients of a 40lb bag for under $40. Just ok for me. I'm a visitor on the island. I'm also a veterinary technician and petsitter. I came in looking for a present for my dog and for my friend (who was watching my dog). I really wanted items that were specific to Hawaii. A cute collar, hand made treats. They had Hawaii printed collars but not in big dog sizes. I stopped by on February 7 looking to buy food as a donation for the Kauai Humane Society while I was on vacation. The staff are extremely friendly and have nothing but top quality items. They also have pets that are ready to be adopted on loan from the humane society in hopes of finding a forever home. Today, the pups name was Tess and I immediately went to the humane society and paid for the adoption of Tess. I am from Canada but she was the most loving and kind animal I have ever seen.
