First time that I can recall eating Hawaiian Bbq! This is a small strip mall joint with limited seating, nothing fancy, but clean with some sparse Hawaiian-themed decor. Most of the plate lunch-style meals consist of a protein served with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. Definitely not a light lunch, but certainly tasty comfort food! We tried the beef/chicken combo and the popcorn chicken-ish Molokai chicken with a sweet orange sauce. Very generous servings, affordable, and everything was served hot and tasted fresh.

Had a few bites before the picture and was disappointed. Like a lot. I absolutely love Hawaiian bbq but you know they using cheap meat when 75% of the "meat" is fat. Had to chew and spit out most of it which who loves doing that. Flavor of meat was good. Macaroni salad ok. I got the teriyaki bbq beef plate. Won't be coming back.

If you've been to Hawaii and fell in love with the food on your trip, this place is worth coming to! Pricing was great, the man at the counter was super nice, & the restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. I liked that they weren't price gouging for things. A bottle of water was only $1. We did the mini chicken katsu and the mini bbq beef. The katsu was perfectly crisp and the bbq beef was the flavor I remember from Hawaii. Portion sizes are large. Our meals came with rice and Mac salad. The Mac salad seems like it's missing something, but I'm not sure what. It was still very good and I loved the cabbage and broccoli under the beef. We will definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

It's a small strip mall store. Very limited seating and you get the feeling it's more a carry-out type of venue. The decor is semi cute though, trying to give a little of the Hawaiian feel. You have to order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. The menu has Hawaiian grill plates, but really not that many Hawaiian staples on it. It will do in a pinch. The portions are generous and the pricing is not bad. I did enjoy the Kalua pork and it came with rice and macaroni salad as it should. I really did enjoy the macaroni salad. The pork was ok and the rice, well it was rice. I would eat here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

BBQ Plate and beef and chicken were delicious. The short rib was a bit tough but finished everything in my container. Used both sauces to go for a little extra flavor. Quick and friendly service

Okay this place impressed me so much! First of all, I cannot believe I got all of this food for about $16! It lasted me 3 meals..and it was SO GOOD! I used to live in Japan and the tenderness of the chicken with the crispiness of the breading was spot on for the chicken katsu. The bbq chicken was also tender and the sauce was super tasty. It also came with macaroni salad, rice, and underneath the meat some steamed veggies! I didn't love the bbq beef but it could just be my taste buds. Everything else I would order again in a heartbeat. I got takeout but the inside has a table or two with some fun decor. I will say the music playing inside was a bit loud and dramatic but it did add some entertainment. The staff working was very nice. I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items. Highly recommend!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I've only door dashed it so I can't speak to the service or ambiance but the food is so so so good. The portion is so good for the price and I love it. I love the bbq chicken and the chicken katsu. The bbq beef is okay. The mac salad is chefs kiss. The rice is perfectly made. I had the crab Rangoon and it was nice and crispy. Idk how but it's always fresh when it's delivered and I also love that.

Great food at reasonable prices! I'm allover it!! Hawaiian food is one of very few fusion foods that I like. So when I happen to be in Indianapolis, I went for it. The plates are like they should be: a lot of good quality food at decent prices. We got the katsu and bulgogi combo plate ($15) and galbi plate ($17). Hubby loved the bulgogi. The katsu was made of dark meat but less tasty than the rest of the plate. My galbi was as good as I can want: juicy, fatty and plenty! We both loved the Mac salad. I can eat a whole tub of it. The counter service was friendly and speedy. We'll definitely be back for more.

First things first, I was in here picking up food for someone and grabbed a menu to take a look because it smelled soooo good & was clean and decorated so cutesy to only have one couple in there eating on a Saturday late afternoon. I shared the menu later with my daughter because I saw they had Spam (I know it's popular in Hawaiian culture but have never tried it- she's been seeing it on TikTok and has been wanting to try it) - EVERYTHING WAS FIRE! I'm surprised I even like the spam... the seaweed was extremely fresh & pungent. The Malokai chicken puts you in the mind of Chinese orange chicken - but certainly not carry out quality, much better actually. The warm & caramelized pineapples were the perfect Hawaiian touch as well. I'm honestly just blown away by how good the food was and how much food I got for the price. I will be back!

Service was good although I think the woman struggled with English. Enjoyed carry out of the musubis, Hawaiian mix, egg rolls, and lava poppers. All was delicious. The meats were the star! Very juicy and flavorful. Next time I will try the island chicken!

As someone from California now living in Indianapolis, I was so excited when I heard there was a Hawaii restaurant and this place didn't disappoint. The food tasted just like the west coast. Fresh, delicious, clean place! The music couldn't be turned down just a tad bit other that, the waitress was also very nice and brought our food right to the table. I will be back again!

Best island fire chicken I've ever had ! The spice level is up there! Very fresh! Very flavorful! And the customer service top notch!

My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

We started with Tony's Favorite Nachos which consist of steak, chicken, chorizo or pulled pork (we chose steak) sautéed onions, peppers, house made queso, pico de gallo, guacamole, and black beans on top of freshly fried tri-colored chips. The flavors were truly amazing and often places skimp on the 'stuff' and give you a million chips - Dawsons has the perfect proportion so if anything, you have 'stuff' after the chips are gone. We loved these nachos and were from Texas so that says a lot. We also tried the Firecracker Shrimp, which are shrimp tossed in house-made honey sriracha sauce. These were unlike anything I've had. They had a crispy crunchy exterior and the sauce was to die for - I would buy the sauce alone if I could! It had heat but not crazy heat and the flavor was superb. Our table had the Beef Stroganoff. I must say I am not a fan of beef stroganoff - but this actually was prepared very well and had a very good flavor which kind of surprised me! We also tried the TriColored Tortellini with Chicken which had chicken, mushrooms, peas, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto cream sauce. The flavors were amazing together and I could have eaten more of this as well! We also had the Blackened Chicken Quesadilla which was a Cheddar jalapeño tortilla filled with sautéed chicken, black beans, roasted corn, house tomato relish, roasted red peppers, spinach, Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese. It was served with sour cream and Dawson's Cajun ranch. Although this was on the appetizer menu, it was easily an entree. It was stuffed with the ingredients and very flavorful and filling. All of the ingredients blended together very well and offered a mouth full of flavor in every bite! Finally, we tried the Bayou Chicken Salad which comes with Blackened chicken on top of iceberg/romaine mix with black beans jalapenos, roasted corn, fresh guacamole, house tomato relish, Cheddar, and Mozzarella cheese. It's served with tri-colored chips and Dawson's Cajun ranch. I left the chips and corn off. This was a generous salad with superb flavors. The dressing was wonderful - a little heat and a lot of flavor. Again, this was very filling as well. There was nothing I could find 'wrong' with Dawsons. I checked Yelp for saved restaurants in Indy (we live in Hamilton County) and Brozinni's was one of the closest to our location. You can never go wrong with pizza. We arrived and the dining room was nearly full on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was very light and lively. There's an indoor go-kart track connected to the business, and we noticed lots of teens and families making their way through the restaurant and out a side door (the restrooms are also located through those doors). I wondered why the entrance would require folks to walk through the restaurant but later found that the track does have a separate entrance. Our server came by to take our drink orders, and although we were ready to order food too, she asked that we hold off until she came back. She later apologized for the delay in receiving our pizza too, so I think she was really busy. Nevertheless, we ordered a beer and an apple ale and eventually ordered the potato skins app and the 16" Park Avenue pie (pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon). The skins are made in-house and are substantial in size and toppings. They are really a good, quality option. They came with sour cream, but we requested some ranch dressing as well, and one of the food runners came right out with it for us. They had several young people working as runners and bussers and the managers/owners (I'm not sure of their titles) were stepping in and helping as well. We love to see an operation where everyone is working to make sure that the customers are taken care of. We demolished our appetizer and barely had room for the pie when it arrived but ate some anyway because it was hot and looked so delicious. The crust was perfect. The toppings were generous. 16" is a massive undertaking for two people! We enjoyed the pizza that night and the next and we can't wait to go back!

I saw that you now sell your bowls at Dream Palace Cafe too and I hope to see Yamallama meal options at many more coffee shops, stores, and cafes around town. I'll buy one every time I see one!!! PS: I just saw that they closed their second location in The Garage Food Hall and opened one across the street from The Children's Museum instead, so visit there or this AMP location.

Well this restaurant can be summed up by saying organized chaos that results in delicious soul…read morefood. They only have take out right now and are not have any dine in customers. They have a few parking spots out front. They seem few and far between and there is a lot about a hundreds yards away that have quite a few more spots. I think a 4.5 star rating is more accurate for this restaurant. I decided to go with the 4 because it came close, but did not meet a 5. The menu is on the wall and they have some laminated paper menus if that is your flavor. They have pork chops, chicken, ribs and a wide assortment of sides such as mac and cheese, dressing and fried corn. They also have desserts that include cobblers and sweet potato pie. You place your order through a small tinted glass window, but it is difficult to hear because the music is banging. I liked the music personally, but it was a bit too loud. You pick your order up from a small window to the left of the one that you placed your order. I order a fried pork chop diner with stuffing and sweet potatoes. Like i said, they do not have dine-in, so I had to take it to-go. It was smelling so good that I could not make it and pulled over at a park and chowed down. The pork chops were delicious, as well as the sweet potatoes. The stuffing was ok, definitely not my fav. Since I was there and had no dinner plans, I ordered another meal for later. I got the fried chicken diner with the greens and cabbage mix and the potato salad. The entire dinner was delicious. Some of the best I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned fresh. The greens and cabbage mix.....wow......I should have gotten a tub of it. I am still thinking about it. The potato salad is mustard based and was packed with flavor. I did have to wait a very long time for my food, but I know that you can't rush perfection. I would highly recommend placing your order online (you won't have the loud music drowning you out) or call it in. Soul food is hard to come by, and good soul food is even harder. According to the movie starring Vanessa Williams, soul food cures all and brings a family together. I thought that was a myth until I ate the food here. This food could stop wars. I cannot wait to go back.

Yep it's me again! I've been here a few times and it's secretly turning into one of my go to spots!…read more My favorite item on the menu is the macaroni and cheese and cabbage/greens mix. I know cabbage greens mix.....sounds awkward at least that's how I felt the first time I ready it but man it's SOOOOO GOOD! Today I ended up with the jambalaya! Now I don't really like jambalaya but I can't lie; this one was delicious! If I actually liked the dish I would've ate it, but my daughter took it and she SMASHED! I would highly recommend checking your order BEFORE you leave, I've had a couple of mishaps before. My last order being the biggest mess up, and to be honest per their policy they didn't owe me anything!!! But I reached out, told them what happens and wouldn't you know it they refunded me! I was pleasantly shocked! You should definitely check this place out you won't be disappointed!!!

It's a little down home place with a good vibe - the decor is Indy 500 themed which would be expected given the location is a block from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The staff were friendly and appropriately attentive. We tried varieties of meat plate and pulled port sandwiches - all of the BBQ was excellent. The pulled pork was flavorful and perfectly done. The brisket was a good mix of moist and lean (I asked for a mix) and also prepared perfectly. The smoked sausage had a great flavor and was not overdone. The 7 Pepper gold sauce and the 7 Pepper BBQ sauce are awesome! Both have great flavors and the perfect heat - and are made in-house. We took a few bottles to go, which says a lot! The fried apples were quite tasty - almost like a pie filling - very good. The fries are tasty - crispy outside and soft inside. They pair perfectly with the 7 Pepper BBQ sauce! The green beans - well, just bland and flavorless. The coleslaw also lacked flavor. The cornbread was a traditional cornbread - drier than we like, but that's not anything wrong with it - just not the type we like. I would absolutely come back!
