The individual working here is quite nice, actually I have no concerns there. However, out of countless times at other threading spots, I never felt the immense amount of pain before like I did this time. I almost had no choice to tell to stop midway because it felt like my skin was being ripped. Something I've never encountered before, always there's a little discomfort, but never before like this. I thought maybe it was a bit of a stretch but then realized even days later I got scabs from the threading areas because of how aggressive it was. I'm still in shock because this has never happened before. Therefore, I couldn't recommend this place like I thought that I would be able to initially when I saw the brows were balanced well enough. As I'm inching closer and closer to 40, I find myself becoming more aware of approaches that can preserve my youth (at least that's what they tell us). Approaches such as drinking water with electrolytes, reducing my alcohol intake, reading more, attempting to avoid stressful situations, going on nature walks, reducing time spent on my phone, and getting facials. Of all the approaches that I listed, the hardest one for me to implement consistently is getting facials. Not because I don't care about my skin, but because the cost of a facial is equivalent to a new pair of shoes (please don't judge me!) If you have an iPhone, you know that Apple likes to send you memories (archived photos). On one particular day, the memory was a close up photo that showed my glowing skin (at the time). I showed the photo to my wife, and she said (with a smirk) "that's a nice photo of you, looks like you were getting facials and using Lira (I will explain what Lira is later)." Determined to reclaim my glowing skin of the past, I immediately booked an appointment with Harvinder. Harvinder knows that I struggle with consistently getting facials, and that I would much rather continue using commercial skin products that you can find at your local Ulta. However, Harvinder quickly overlooked my stubborn ways, and provided me with a custom facial for my particular skin type. Since I suffered from cystic acne from my teenage years to my mid-twenties, I have mild acne scarring that requires special treatment. By simply looking at my skin, Harvinder is able to tell me what facial methods will be appropriate for my skin. In addition, she sells a product called Lira that has a variety of products for different skin types. Days after getting my facial, I caught my wife lovingly staring at me. Without touching my face (it's important that I say this), she complimented me on my glowing skin. The icing on the cake was when I recently ran into a unbiased, old friend that I haven't seen in eight years. They were gushing over the appearance of my skin and told me that I look like I haven't aged since I last saw them. I'm using this Yelp review as a form of holding myself accountable to getting facials every six weeks, I just scheduled my next one. I found Harvinder's shop on yelp and it had great reviews. After having quarantine brows since mid-March, I decided to "request an appointment". So I messaged her and she got back to me in ~15 minutes. She was available that day so I booked for 4:15. Around 2:50, she calls telling me she's open for 3:15. That was nice of her. I went to my appt. she sat me down right away. She noticed some contrasts between my brows got to work on making them look more uniform. I provided a pic. By the time she was done, I was soooo pleased. She fixed the awkward arches, the "baby hairs", and they looked so symmetrical. I was so pleased. Upon conversations with her, she said "if you do what you love, it will always show.... doing eyebrows is an art. You have to paint without messing up the texture of the canvas" Bravo! *chefs kiss* TLDR, Harvinder is awesome and you can trust her with your eyebrows because she understands how important it is to properly frame the face. Unfortunately this was my go to for eyebrow threading for over a year. I preferred her services over anyone in the area but her business ethics suck. I have never been late to an appointment or have requested to reschedule before. I requested to reschedule my appointment (I'm well aware of the policy- I didn't want to cancel) but was told by her that she couldn't as she has no control of Vagaro to be able to do so. I had an emergency appointment that came up last minute. I called Harvinder at least 6 hours prior to my appointment requesting this reschedule and was told she could not reschedule or refund. I asked how late I can be to my appointment given she wouldn't do anything about it and was told 5 mins- not reasonable at all. I disputed the charge as I never received the services and my CC company agreed and rebooked to see her a few days later. I got a call from Harvinder in regard to my appointment that I didn't see her for implying that I didn't have an emergency and expecting payment. I explained to her again as to why in which she had no understanding and I asked if she just wanted payment and was told no. I decided to continue giving her my business despite our conversation. I was able to schedule and denied the appointment. Thinking this is an error I booked the appointment again and then got a message indicating there is an issue with my account. Obviously that's a huge discrepancy. Also if she has no control over Vagaro how was my appointment denied? I'm disappointed as I have recommended her to my close family and friends. Harvinder has no empathy that life happens and there are some things you can't control. Has she never been in an emergency situation? Many individuals would be considerate if she were to cancel an appointment if something came up important for her. I've had businesses cancel appointments and yes you're upset but you move on and continue to see them for their good work and the person they are. Being a kind/understanding individual goes a long way Harvinder- something you should learn for your business. No surprise Kaur has a 5 star winning streak. She deliveries wonderful customer service. At first I had a hard time finding her station as I drove around the shopping center. Didn't realize she is located within SOLA SALONS until I called her again. So HINT HINT to you first timers, she has a small individual station towards the back of SOLA SALONS which is a conglomerate of other types of salons, day spas, barbers, etc. It's located at the far end of the building near Applebees. Her station is just large enough for one chair. This I like. Appointment-only personalized attention. No walk-in interruptions. I'm not good at doing my makeup, so it was so nice as she walked me through on how to correctly fill in my brows after she was done with the threading part. Normally after I get threading I need to slather on hydrocortisone to calm down my swelling from the threading irritating my skin. So I'm not sure if it is Kaur's easy touch or whatever ointment she used on my skin, but I didn't welt up like I normally would after threading. Pricier than I'm used to at $15 for brows. I've never had ANYONE explain their brow vision to me before they even touch my face, let alone spend that much focus and time to really shaping and framing my brows.
