I have gone to a grand total of 3 events that have been held at this studio. I cannot say enough good things about this welcoming and beautiful studio! Not only is everything very well-priced and affordable, but the staff are more than willing to work with you if you have questions! Their pricing is also super transparent, with notes posted around the shop so it's easy to buy even when on a budget. Not only have they begun to recognize me, but when I came in for the Valko event, they were kind enough to notify me that they had new items to decorate on top of their already huge selection, which made choosing just one project so hard! If you have the time in your session, I'd recommend more than one. The staff here are SUPER kind and welcoming, and truly try their best to make this place a hub for the community (especially for Love and DeepSpace players) and I couldn't recommend them more! Even outside of events, this is a perfect place to learn new crafting skills and just take a moment to be in the moment. The first time I came to Kawaii DIY was July 2025. The owner (Kawa) told me that the business was run by her and her mother and that she played the game, Love & Deepspace. Not only did I leave the studio a glowing review (see below for first picture I took there, 5 star review since deleted), I gave her insight into the local LADS community because I believed that her space could be used for events. At the time, my team and I were planning our first LADS event and I DM'd the studio a few days after my visit to set up a business connection. Whoever responded said they're not involved in the company's marketing decisions. Understandable, but they did not pass me along to someone who was nor did they respond to my final message. I suspect it was Kawa behind the screen because she was actively making content and monitoring the studio's social media page the entirety of my visit. Moving along to Summer 2026. Kawaii DIY is pumping out LADS events that include cosplayers. For the one themed after the game's "Spring & Flowers" banner, I commented under the "featured cosplayer" post of the cosplayer friend I was planning to support the day of, suggesting that the studio choose a photo where their face/hair and makeup were clearly visible considering they work so hard on their cosplay for next time. The post was published late at night, around 11pm, which leads me to believe the studio was rushing, so I wasn't harsh in my critique at all. I received no response. The following morning after that featured post was published, my best friend and I came to the studio to support our cosplay friend. We did not plan on participating in the deco so we did not make an RSVP for it. At the time, my friend (cosplayer) was not busy so we stayed to take pictures with them at the backdrop, part of the draw for the event. Kawa was helping the other guests, but another person, who I can only assume is her mother, kept circling the three of us looking unhappy. At one point, she asked my best friend if she had made an RSVP for deco. She said no, just the mini art market. Instead of welcoming us anyway, having us leave, or explaining the rules, the mother simply walked away. Immediately, there was an air of hostility. We browsed the mini art market as potential customers, so we had every right to be there. I encourage you to look through your camera recordings to verify our presence, as you often do anyway for customers who leave a negative review (which is also within their right). It'll be the last time you'll see us there. At this point in time, my team's social media page is doing well. We enjoy promoting local LADS events and cosplayers. On behalf of my team, I posted a story group picture with the volunteer cosplayers that included the studio's name. I did not actually tag them because it was not required to tag them at the time, and I felt that the mother was rude. On my own page, I posted a reel promoting my cosplayer friend as they are still new to the space. Once again, I did not tag the studio for the aforementioned reasons. A few days later, Kawaii DIY Studio published a post about their policies. This included making RSVPs in advance and crediting them for their work through tags that needed to be pre-approved. It is their business, their rules. But the guidelines felt strict and the wording was very passionate in comparison to their older posts. Multiple LADS community members reached out to me deducing that the new guidelines were written because of my actions. I have stayed silent for a long time because I do want a woman-owned business to succeed and think that Kawaii DIY does bring charm to the Bay Area. However, it's recently come to my attention that they've taken down all of their featured cosplayer posts and speak ill of them behind their backs despite them volunteering their time to cultivate an immersive experience. They've also blocked me and my team on social media when our prior suggestions have been constructive, not harmful. LADS players, please continue to do whatever makes you happy especially during such a tumultuous time for us. I just urge you to do your research before giving your money and time. Note the expedited rate at which the studio's events are created, the value of the goods sold, and their responses to any kind of constructive criticism. Do not attack the studio and reach out to me directly if you have follow up questions. Kawa, if you're reading this, I really hoped that we could be friends because it seemed that we hit it off the first time we met. I'm sad it's come to this, but I do not appreciate the unprofessionalism. Please learn from this. As a LADS player yourself, you should know that the community deserves better. read more

I came in for the Love and Deepspace Valko event. I was looking to it as this was my first LADS event ever. While the place is nice and did have merch, there's a lack of affordable options. Everything was so crazy expensive!! Every DIY project was $30 - $55 on the list. It was absurd a small trinket box was over $30. The hair claws, hair clips, and headband, which are in the $20 range are unavailable. Even the stickers had to brought in a set. I couldn't even purchase one sticker!! They really push you to spent as much as money as possible here. I came to have a good time after the character cancellation, but like Infold, I was severely disappointed with them. I wish they could do better at least lol. Even the pens to write down the notes to Valko wasn't working well. read more

So happy to have found this place when it popped up on Instagram! Decided to celebrate my birthday by doing a little decoden activity here with friends and we had such a great time! Booking a reservation was easy. Upon checking in we were introduced into the space and options of what we wanted to decorate or create. This was the hardest part, mostly because there was so much to choose from. I opted for a compact/comb in one of my favorite colors. They have so many things from hairclips, trinket boxes and phone cases. Depending on your item you're alotted an "icing" color and a number of charms. To be honestly I barely used half the amount of charms I was allowed. Instructions were easy and helpful. There were so many colors and cute and fun charms to work with. Loved that they had some sample pieces up too. Once my party got ideas of what we were going to do we were all in the flow and so focused on our decorating. It was fun to be creating together with music playing in the background. The space was comfortable and the 3 hours went by super fast. Omg!!! This spot is amazing. So many cute things to decorate with. It was my first time here with my friends, and we definitely enjoyed it. We wanted to get crafty and tap, but mostly we just decorated our items. You can hear us holding our breath or not blinking because we are concentrating on piping the cream. I made a jewelry box for my mom. It is not perfect, but I tried at least. I had to remind them that this is not a cake, but it's so cute that it looks like one. The items you decorate are pretty cheap, like maybe a few dollars max. I wish their photo frames had wider bezels so there would be more room to decorate. I'm a bit confused by how they decide what's a bonus charm (the ones you can only get one or two of) and what's a regular charm, since some of the bonus charms weren't that interesting or large. Picking out the charms takes up most of the time. It was pretty empty (there was a max of 3 other people there at the same time as us), but even with so few other people it's really hard to access the charms if someone else is looking. And this seems like a popular place for kids' birthday parties, so it could get chaotic depending on the timing. I paid $35 for my medium trinket box and 2 hours of decorating. I think overall this is a fine place to try decoden for the first time. It's quite pricey vs if you were to buy the materials yourself, but it's convenient to have the tools (different icing tips) and a wide variety of charms. And the staff is very nice and patient. Edit: forgot to add that I messaged this business to ask what materials are in their decoden creams, but I never got a response. read more

Went here and it is such a fun chill activity to bond to. It's located in a super chill plaza with plenty of parking where you do not feel pressured and it's close enough to the Cupertino plaza with daiso and sanrio where you can walk to it. Service was awesome! Just for service I would give it 1000000000 stars! She was so sweet and helpful yet I like how she gave us space to be creative and talk to each other without interruption. My friend and I had a kawaii-filled afternoon crafting at Kawaii DIY Studio this weekend. Such a fun concept: pick your project, select adorable charms and frosting colors to customize your creation, then get crafty! I decided to make a large heart-shaped trinket box and my friend picked hair clips. Since it was our first time, the owners gave us a frosting tutorial and tips. I discovered this location after my friend shared an Instagram video about it. I went there with a friend to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday afternoon. Although we didn't have a reservation, they had a seat available for walk-ins. If it had been busy, we likely wouldn't have been able to get in, especially if they were booked for a large party. I'm glad there was no time limit because I would have felt stressed trying to decide what item I wanted to customize. I debated between a mirror and a hair clip, while my friend debated between a box and a hair clip. In the end, my friend chose the hair clip, and I opted for the hand mirror. After that, I needed to decide on a charm. I kept changing my mind about which charm to use while figuring out the placement. In the picture, I have three creams because I texted my friend to ask which colors I should use. I ultimately chose a pink mixture with white and purple. For the hand mirror, I have fifteen regular charms, two cream charms, and two mega charms. I'm thankful for the unlimited mini charms that available on the table because they help fill out the space. I didn't practice much beforehand but decided to dive in. I can see where I need to improve, but for my first attempt, I'm pleased with how my mirror turned out. I think I visited on a day when they had run out of some charms, but I plan to come back and work on another project. I hope they have more items and charms the next time I come back. I find out on instagram yes you can bring your own supplies like charms and what not. The staff was super friendly, patient, and helpful. The owner explained that their silicone cream is strong enough to withstand travel, which was important since my friend and I had more plans for the day. My friend accidentally dropped her project, but she was able to adjust the charm a bit, and it survived just fine. read more

I'm a first timer at decoden and I love the game Love and Deepspace so when I saw an ad for a character's birthday party I just had to check the studio out! I was originally planning to buy just merchandise but I noticed how cute everything was and so I ended up decorating some items myself. I ended up having such an amazing and memorable experience even though I was overwhelmed and anxious over the whole process because the employees Annie and Becky (sorry if I misspelled) helped me out so much from start to finish. The other customers had a good/friendly enegy as well so I was able to fill up my creative and social cup from the event. I smiled or giggled a ton from people or just putting a charm in the right spot! I definitely want to come back outside of an event just because it was such a fun and relaxing experience for me that even though I went home tired I internally felt rejuvenated! Picking out charms probably took me half an hour to 45 minutes and the actual process took me an hour. I took some pictures of what I decorated and bought. I also got freebies inside the baggie (which I took pics of later on). I spent around $119 which I think was definitely worth it because I got to learn a new skill, I got good quality merchandise, I have items that is literally one of a kind, and I got to take care of my inner child that day. So so so cute! I loved this experience when I went with my cousins and sisters. There's so many items to choose from that you can decorated! From small to big, from frames to everyday items like wallets, it's endless. I'd love to come back and do some of the other things they had. You got to choose at least 2 of the pastes and many charms depending on the item you got. I had so much fun decorating mine and being creative! Loved my time with the studio. A friend and I were looking for something fun to do and thought we'd make something. We got there early and saw the most adorable treat decor/stools. The space is so well organized with examples and options. The signage is clear about what charms we could use based on project size. The shop gal greeted us with warmth and happiness. She was tremendous in creating a fun place to hang out. There was kpop playing. I couldn't name a thing though it's a fun vibe. I ended up choosing a luggage tag. Then the fun chaos began: which charms and cream to use. Ahhh! :) Charms are stored in numerous drawers. I changed my mind a few things and that's ok. The cute heart-shaped bowl as part of the set up made it easy to carry around. We had our reserved table with tools and additional filler items. Loved the sprinkles and glow-in-the-dark flakes. It's a lot of choice and flexibility with a wonderful supportive space to have fun. The two hours flew by. I flubbed sometimes with my cream and those moistened wipes saved the day. Eventually, I said whatever and just stuck some flakes to my oops. Haha. I loved my time here. My friend and I had some quality hang time. Cost is about average from these kinds of spaces. It's totally worth it to me from the service, choices, organization, easy parking (lot), location (tea across the street with restaurants not far away).
