I called Adrian and asked for the price over the phone, I was shocked he gave his best price up front over the phone.

The salesperson told me it was **"good to go,"** that they moved it in and out every day, that it ran great, and that it only had **365 miles** on it. I also paid **$692 for reconditioning**, so I reasonably believed the ATV had been inspected and was ready to use. I got home, unloaded it from my truck, put it in High gear, and the **check engine light immediately started flashing and the ATV went into limp mode**. I restarted it, tried again in Low gear, and the exact same thing happened. I tried a third time with the same result. I immediately called my salesperson. He told me someone from service would call me shortly because they were busy and short-staffed. I even loaded the ATV back onto my truck, ready to make the nearly three-hour drive back to the dealership. **No one from service ever called.** After my wife called the dealership on Monday, the sales manager finally returned my call. Instead of apologizing or arranging service, he asked, **"Didn't they tell you it was 'as is'?"** He then told me they had owned the ATV for over a year, that he wanted to send it to auction instead of selling it, and that he personally wouldn't have bought it because it was an **"old rickety four-wheeler."** I told him none of that had ever been disclosed to me. I had been told it was **"good to go."** His response was, **"Well, I don't know what you were told."** When I replied, "You do know because I just told you," he answered, **"Well, it's your word against the salesman."** When I asked why I had been charged **$692 for reconditioning** if the ATV couldn't even be driven around my yard without going into limp mode, his response was, **"They probably changed the oil and whatnot."** He also said that because they aren't a Polaris dealership, diagnosing the problem might be difficult. Ironically, a Polaris dealer later showed me that the active fault code can be read directly from the ATV's dashboard without any special scan tool. The code pointed to a throttle-body issue, which thankfully does not appear to be catastrophic. Mechanical problems happen. I understand that. My disappointment isn't that a used ATV needed a repair. It's the lack of follow-up, the conflicting explanations, being told after the sale that the sales manager wanted to send it to auction, and never receiving the return call I was promised. I'll let others decide whether that's the level of customer service and transparency they expect from a franchised dealership.

Overall, best dealership experience I've ever had and I have had a lot. Initially talked with Jeff (owner) when I was shopping for a new bike. He was extremely helpful and absolutely zero pressure. He really just seemed interested in helping me and indifferent to selling me on anything. About a month later I had made my decision, walked in, and said I'll take it on a new matte green streetfighter v2. Jeff handed me over to Marty who drew up paperwork with no bs and no surprises. Was my birthday mid week and I asked if they could deliver it to me then; no problem. Bike showed up perfect in a nice red ducati truck. Props to Roy also for being super easy to work with and communicative. Fast forward to my first service. I called to get it scheduled and they said they were booked out a few weeks, but having bought the bike there they would squeeze me in anyway that saturday. I was expecting to be waiting around, but nope they took the bike right in when I got there and got to work. Though they were clearly very busy, everyone worked smooth and efficient and that seemed to be why they were able to service the bike so quick. They have a window from the nice waiting area / bike museum so you can see them work.. no corners cut. Also they were all very communicative and it felt the most personalized bike service I've ever had. Yes, it was almost $600 (standard for these bikes), but the first time I've ever felt I was getting $600 of service. Great job guys! Shout out for Lily also. I hadn't dealt with her at the shop, but see her regularly at a local meet and ride with her. Very knowledgable and helpful about the bike and parts as well as a great rider and general nice person.

When I inquired with Ducati Corporate if I could use the credit to purchase nonmechanical Ducati items, they informed me that three retailers in the US accept the certificate. I contacted AMS in Dallas to ask about a helmet I wanted to purchase. Lily, the CS rep told me that they do indeed accept the certificates and guided me through the process. What I found exceptional about Lily is her online and phone demeanor. In this age of less face to face interactions, a phone call rather than a text or chat is so appreciated. Her voice and professionalism are something that stood out to me. In my former life, I trained Playstation CS staff on the technical aspects of the products. So I'm well aware of CS service standards. Neither AMS nor Lily knew that I write for Web Bike World, so her level of service was standard practice for her. Bravo to AMS for how they train their staff. And the same goes for Ducati. A crummy luck of my draw turned into an exceptional experience. https://www.webbikeworld.com/what-happened-when-something-happened-ducati/
