I've got a few items here. I find them to be pretty good. The jewelry quality. as far as jewelry stores go.

I was stationed at McClellan AFB 26 years ago. I married a local girl. We were back visiting Sacramento after all these years. I went to the Sunrise Mall, where I used to shop back then, and was surprised to see it is pretty much shuttered. I went in anyway. Saw Kay Jeweler was still open, thought about buying something for my wife, and approached the man sitting at the counter. His name is Nemo, and he is the manager. I walked up to the counter and started talking to him. Oddly enough, even though I was standing right in front of him, he didn't notice me. He tapped his earbuds off and asked if he could help me. Apparently, listening to his earbuds is more important than his job to this manager. Anyway, I started explaining how I was stationed here all those years ago, and was sorry to see what happened to Sunrise Mall. I had been talking for a bit, when he looked up and asked what I had said. At that point I was done. I told him never mind and walked out of the store. As I was leaving, another young male employee, who had witnessed this event, yelled at me to have a blessed day, very rudely. I tried to contact Kay Jeweler direct, but they make that practically impossible. Yelp will probably be a waste of time with this complaint, but I just needed to get it off my chest. I imagine Kay Jeweler will be just one more store to close in the mall soon. Nemo needs to be looking for another job. And I will never buy jewelry from any Kay store again. read more

We stop by this location a few times a year to have a ring that we purchased inspected and cleaned. Generally, service is good and we usually are acknowledged and helped right away after walking in. However, the rest of the experience can vary depending on which staff members are working on the day of the visit - some of the employees are more warm and thorough than others. For example, it initially was an unexpected pleasant surprise to have several of them offer to also clean my other ring despite it not having been purchased at Kay. But then at other times, they do not offer to do this - it would be nice if there was a bit more consistency with the standard procedures so it's easier to manage expectations about them. We haven't had any issues with quality/construction so far during inspection, and the ring(s) come out looking more sparkly than beforehand. Overall, it's still typically a quick and efficient visit, but definitely an added plus if the service that day is more friendly as well! read more

I worked initially with Nemo who is very knowledgeable and friendly about getting my finance's ring. When I was called to come get it, none of the associates could find it. I waited for 10 minutes for them to find it. The ring ended up having to be resized so I had to have a service done. When the ring came back once again they couldn't find it anywhere. They kept asking me is there anyone else on the account and for the 5th time I told them no. It took awhile but they found it. The lady who found the ring tried to give it to me in a small ziplock bag. Excuse me?! After all the money I just paid I need a box. I asked her nicely for a box then she proceeds to shove the ring in the box and it wasn't even put in there nicely. It's shoved to the side and she said she couldfix it plus from her fumbling with it, there are fingerprints all over it. I WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

If I could rate this dishonest jeweler a minus rating I would. I brought my wife's ring in to have it cleaned and the mounting checked. I spoke with the manager (Nemo) and explained I wanted the mount done in Platinum and willing to pay for upgrade from white gold. Nemo checked it in and Inspected the ring and took photos. He assured me the service was guaranteed and could easily done, but needed to send it off-site to complete. After 3 weeks had lapsed and no communication from them I called the store. I was told the day before the ring was supposed to be returned to me from having the service done they didn't complete the repair. I was told the diamond had a chip on it under the mounting by the assistant store manger (Narinder). I immediately questioned the chips location and how that could be possible under the mount. She began to become a little nervous when I started questioning her about the damage reported and when that occurred. She indicated that her store manager was off for the day but she would leave a message for him and he would call me immediately first thing the next morning. That morning call never took place. I actually had to drive into the store to speak to the store manager. The store manager began to make excuses and say he knew the staff well that serviced the ring. He placed a call but yet had no photos of the damage. No indication of it being there prior to me dropping the ring off in the store. Looking at the mounting there's was no visible damage under a scope no chip seen. After nothing but excuses claiming no responsibility for any damage to the ring. I got a full refund and left the store. I told the manager I was going to get a second opinion of the damage reported from another reputable dealer and would get back to him once I found that information out. After taking it to another more reputable jeweler who took the stone out of the mount showed the stone to me under a scope and verified that there was no damage. After finding out that there was no damage and realizing that the story was completely fabricated, I would recommend you take your business to another reputable jeweler for any type of service. It's clear to me that they have no idea what they're doing . I have been lied to that, there was damage to my wife's stone and the additional stress caused by that report. I would stay far away from Kay Jewelers. read more

So I initially bought my wife's engagement ring here with no problem however as time went on I chose to do their financing which was not a problem however it wasn't until I made one late payment which was the second to last payment that then they told me not to worry and everything would be okay. I then later found out that they sent me to collections close my account without warning me and I ended up having to pay off my account through a collection agency. That was not cool and very unprofessional I had no warning as to what was going to happen when it came to them sending me to a collection agency. This also affected my credit score and it took a little bit too recover from. Fast forward 4 years ahead and I called them today to see if they could look up my ring that I bought for my wife because it needs to be resized. They have no record of my purchase and told me to come in and they could see what they could do for me I now live out of the area and it's not convenient for me to just come in and "have them see what they can do for me." To the unprofessionalism that I've experienced on the phone and then not being able to even find my records of my purchase including my extended warranty plan on the ring that I bought they have lost my business I would not recommend financing anything through them I would not recommend them to any family or friends if you want to buy something out-of-pocket that might be an option but even then the real question is do they even keep records of customers purchases for the warranties that they even offer and the extended service plans that they sell. The first time I shopped here the lady behind the counter bent over backwards for me trying to find a piece that no one else in the mall had. I was over the moon when we finally found it and have been a happy customer ever since every time I shop here. The last time I visited, Trish was amazing. Even though I made it clear that I was just looking and shopping prices and comparing diamonds, (which, after you say that, jewelry sales people automatically resent your presence and want you to leave as quickly as possible so they can help someone who WILL buy, but it wasn't like that with Trish), she still went above and beyond, pouring over her merchandise with me to find the piece that I wanted. She even showed me different variations of what I asked for, just to give me ideas of what else was available...which no other store that I visited did. All in all, great products, great sales people and a great experience. I'm only giving it 4 stars because as great as the prices were, they still didn't have the product I was specific about seeing and purchasing. But I'll still be back, if anything just to see what else Trish has to show me. read more

Or you can put nothing down but start accruing interest from the time of purchase. I came here on 5/19/18 with my boyfriend to look at engagement rings. I was not too happy to come to this specific Jeweler since we did not have a good experience at a different location. I have to say Rifi made our experience a great one! We (my bf and I) came in thinking we were just going to browse and see what I liked. Not only did Rifi, the store manager, help us get approved for financing, but we walked out with a ring!! Not really with the ring in hand since we are waiting (impatiently!) for it to be resized. My son had a bad experience at Kay Jeweler's today. He called ahead of time to see if he could return jewelry he just purchased for something of lesser value and he was told yes he could. When he went to the store he presented the jewelry he had purchase previously and asked to return it for something of lesser value. The sales women told him that he was not able to do that. When he mentioned that he called prior to coming into the store he was told that he could, then asked for a manager and was told the manager was not there. He then asked for the corporate office phone number then they first said they don't know the number then they told him they would call the corporate office for him. He left the store called another Kay Jewelers and was able to get the number to corporate office. As he was walking through the mall calling corporate office security approaches him and told him that the women said that he was yelling at them which he was not. He stated to review the tape to verify. Why would they call anybody if he's inquiring about a legitimate question and they are not assisting him but hindering him. While on the phone with the corporate office they did confirm that he is able to return his jewelry for something of lesser value so he walks back to the store puts the phone on speaker phone and asks the representative to state that to the women which they did. Instead of assisting him one of the ladies act like a victim asking him why was he doing what he was doing. What was he doing? A young man speaking up for himself when he's in a position where he knows he's being lied to. The customer service rep stated she would help him and have the Manager call to assist him. What a shame these two employees could have simply helped him instead turn it around and pretend to be a victim when confronted with the truth. What is the purpose of this entire charade? Is this how you help a customer? They're always different when you are purchasing from them....they need to be the same no matter who walks in the store! read more

I sure as heck did fall in love!! And, to my surprise so did my boyfriend. We chose my engagement ring, wedding band, and HIS wedding ring all in the same day! I haven't seen it sparkle this much since my wedding day almost 6 years ago! Horrible customer service, horrible experience. I purchased a necklace from Kay Jewelers online - and when it arrived, I was surprised at how fine and delicate the chain was. The clasp was so small that I couldn't fasten it around my neck. I telephoned customer service and they told me to return it to the nearest store for a refund (this was the closest store near me, and it took an hour to get there). After waiting for about 30 minutes overall, the saleswoman asked me for the credit card I used to purchase the necklace. I told her that I didn't have it on me. She then stated that she couldn't give me a refund. She was very rigid and indifferent - and she made no attempts to resolve the issue. So I left and called customer service again and they were just as horrible as she. I told them that I wouldn't ship it back to them because I didn't trust that they would acknowledge receipt of it. I will now have to go back to this horrible store to return the necklace. I only wish that I had checked their Yelp reviews beforehand; because I would've never done business with this very inflexible and unprofessional company. read more

This location is very limited in their selection. The employees are not very attentive and the manager is not any better. You will find yourself waiting at least 25 mins of assistance. They do not greet their customers and they do not have a friendly attitude when they do finally make their way to you. Save your time drive the extra mile to Arden or Roseville. They will at least treat you with some dignity, respect and as a customer should be treated. For as expensive as their products are they should really treat everyone with the upmost care. I had my heart set on a specific engagement ring that I saw here, but they only had it in rose gold. As I looked around, I couldn't get my mind off the ring. I chatted online with a Kay rep who said they have the exact same ring in white gold, and it was 50% off! However, it was in their Concord store, 70 miles away. So I got my stuff together, and prepared to drive to Concord with my sister. Last minute, my sister said let's find out if they can ship it to this location, so we stopped by our local Kay at Sunrise again. NARINDA, the Asst. Manager, said it's no problem, but it will arrive next week. She printed out the order slip with the full retail price on it. I reminded her that the ring was 50% off, and she said the order slip was just to ensure that it's the correct ring. She said it would take one week, then guaranteed me 3 times they will honor the online price of 50% off, even calculating it out with tax for me. Since it was such a good price, I added the matching wedding band. I showed many of my friends and family a picture of the ring, including family of my soon-to-be fiance. The following Tuesday (4 days later), Narinda left me a voicemail that it arrived in store, and come by when I have a chance. Then I came in before closing Thursday, and she got everything ready to ring me up, and tells me, "Oh no. It's not 50% off anymore, it's only 20%". I reminded her that she said the price would be honored. She said she can do 30% off but cannot honor the 50% off she guaranteed me because the sale ended. I reminded her that I was driving to Concord to get it at 50% off and only didn't go because SHE claimed it wouldn't be a problem because she is the Asst. manager and will honor it. Now only to claim the timeframe took too long and the sale ended?!! If she said the sale would end in less than 4 days and that she really couldn't honor it, why wouldn't she have just let me drive to Concord and buy it like I was. Instead she got my hopes up, wasted my time, and attempted to get me to pay an extra $800 markup because she knew how much I LOVED the ring! She didn't offer an apology or anything!!! I'm going to make sure everyone knows how terrible and lacking her customer service is. What a bait and switch! Now I don't have the ring I want to propose with, and I'm embarrassed to tell everyone I didn't get the ring I showed them. I took that day off work too (to drive to Concord) but ended up looking at venues since the "ring was handled". I'm out shopping again for another one because I refuse to do business with her. I mean, she even told us how the morganite rings there are real shitty, and she hates not being able to warn customers NOT to buy them. She is the employee that talks poor about her own store, her manager, and it's product to the customers, and let's those poor, unsuspecting customers buy crap. Do NOT spend your money here. I purchased a ring here on 12/26/19. 62 days later diamonds started falling out. I work from home and maybe wear the ring 4 days a week for a few hours. I was unable to go into the store until 65 days, return policy is 60 days so at this point I am 5 days passed the return date. They are REFUSING to return. The manager won't even talk to me and just keeps telling the associate what to tell me. Completely unprofessional. I will not spend another dime at this corrupt company. So I bought a ring here a few months back for my engagement ring and I recently broke off my engagement and wanted to see if they could buy it back for me or what they could do for me. And let me tell you the way the manager treated me was completely unacceptable. Her sweet employee had to ask her what we could do since she was new and the manager was on the phone and rudely said "what's the question" when she began to tell her my situation she just said "nope, no can't do anything if it's past the 60 days" and got back on the phone and did a gesture with her hand telling her not gonna happen pretty much. Listen I understand you can't do anything about company policy but the least you can do is polity educate me on your policy and not treat me like an less of a person just because my business doesn't benefit you at the moment. Absolutely disgusting and insensitive to my situation! And when I went to sell it to someone else they educated me and showed me how the diamond was low quality and I was ripped off. I changed my mind, went in for a refund, which, at the time of purchase would NOT be an issue to have returned. But thanks to the store manager Rifi I had a terrible experience at the Sunrise Mall location at Citrus Heights. I went there with my husband to purchase a pair of Solitaire Studs in Yellow Gold. The size that we picked was only available in White Gold in that store. We were about to head out to visit the Folsom location, to try our luck to find one in yellow gold. The moment we said that, the Store Manager Rifi said that she will be able to order one in yellow gold. She pretended to look it up and said that Kay doesn't make that particular size in Yellow Gold, thus she can't order it for us. Since we loved the studs anyway, we got them. The back screw in one of the studs was not smooth, so we went to the Folsom Location the next day, to check if they would help us replace it or fix it. GUESS WHAT!! The same stud in Yellow Gold and White Gold!! The sales person there asked me for the receipt and within minutes she helped us replace the earrings. And I got the one in Yellow Gold, exactly what I wanted. What a Liar!! I can't imagine someone would lie to our face about such an expensive thing, just to ensure that we buy the earring from her store. BEWARE of this location! read more

I had the best experience with Matt, truly amazing and patient, very knowledgeable on the selections between tolkowski and the Leo diamonds. He even helped me out picking my own wedding bands and walking me through the Pros and con's between each metal and letting me make my own decisions rather than just pushing the bigger sale on me. I would continue to go in Kay just because of Matt. Also, no matter what day we go in the kid always has the biggest smile and greets you and treats you like a billion dollar spender even if you don't spend a dime. read more

If I could give a negative star I would! I submitted my wedding ring to be fixed as one of my prongs broke off. I was assured that it would be in on Saturday 2 weeks and 1 day after I dropped it off. I called 5 times over the next two weeks to check the status of my ring. Every time I called I gotta brush off or an irritated person stating that my ring would be ready on Saturday as promised. I had a feeling that something else was going on so on Friday two weeks later I called the corporate office only to find out that my ring would not be ready the next day as promised in fact it was going to be Tuesday of the following week before I got it back. All the times that I have talked to anyone over the phone I have gotten rude unprofessional customer service. Would not recommend this store anyone! read more

STAY AWAY AND DO NOT TRUST THEM TO REPAIR YOUR JEWELRY! In April 2016 I came in to obtain an estimate of what it would cost to place a diamond I inherited from my deceased mother on a ring. I came to Kay as this is where my mom had initially bought the ring and it's also where I bought my wedding band. Kay's estimate was on the high end but since we used them before and they told me that using anyone else would void the warranty on my moms ring/diamond, we decided to have Kay place my moms diamond on my ring. I was charged $300 for this service. Six months & 2 weeks later (Oct 2016), the diamond became lose and when I called Kay, they informed me that 1) the warranty on the initial ring/diamond was void since it was disassembled by them (makes no sense since it's a ring bought at Kay and handled by Kay, meaning they were deceitful in convincing me to have them place the diamond there so I don't "void" the warranty, that was going to be voided anyway) and 2) the warranty for the ring they placed the diamond on was only for 6 months and since I was at 6 months and 2 weeks in SOL. So this is how Kay rolls. They do not care about customer loyalty. Their service/repair will last the bare minimum that their warranty will cover. I would recommend you stay away from Kay, they are deceitful and do not stand my their products and their service. read more

Don't not purchase from Kay!! Biggest mistake was choosing to purchase my wedding set, additional band and diamond earrings from this store. The customer service is beyond awful. I have had to send my wedding set sent out the times in the past 6 months for repairs and no it was not by any standards cheap. The last time it was sent it I recieve a phone call that it wasn't repaired correctly and they have to resend it for a THIRD time. The store calls my husband yesterday and said my ring was ready for pick up. He shows up today no ring. What?! The excuse UPS hasn't arrived yet. Umm. You called me and said it was ready. Secondly, Faud (sp?) Says this is not their problem it is nothing they did over and over again. FAUD whose fault is it?! I know it is not mine. No one intends to buy a wedding set try have fixed 3 times in less than two years. Faud inspected my ring when I brought it into the store a 4 weeks ago when I told him I was concerned my stones were loose. Inspected and said everything looked fine. I left thinking OK maybe I'm wrong but no I was pretty sure I could hear my center stone moving. I brought it back to have it reinspected the next weekend and sure enough MULTIPLE some were loose. Faud thank you for telling me it is not your guys fault and you call customer service because you had to go And had actual work to do. Worse is I am not about to enjoy the wedding set my husband purchased for me. Every six months when I have to have it inspected I'll have to be reminded of the awful service your store provides. And trust Everytime I am in my local mall and pass by your store I will share my experience with your potential customers.
