With my milestone anniversary approaching, my husband told me I could upgrade! I found a ring I loved, traded in an old one, and spent $8,000 on a new piece. They sent it out to be sized & soldered. On the way home, we realized they never fitted me for sizing, and my old ring was too small if they were going by it. I called them the next morning, and they assured me they could determine my size based on how the sample rings fit. 9/27/25 I received a call from the Polaris store saying my ring was ready for pickup. While on the phone, they suddenly realized the rings didn't fit together and weren't soldered. I had planned my entire weekend around going there on the 28th, since that was the date they gave me, and we'd be out of town for most of October. 10/2/25 My mom and I both live just short of 1.5 hours away, but since she was in the area she stopped by the store to look at the ring and see what the issue was. The jacket surrounding the ring had been bent inwards, and the solitaire no longer sat fully inside of it. After much discussion with her, me, and a sales associate, we decided my mom would pick it up because neither of us would be in the area again soon -- and I still feared the ring wouldn't fit, since they never sized me properly in the first place. When she brought it to me, it was still way too big. 10/3/25 I contacted the Ashcroft and Oak location at Fairfield Commons mall. I explained everything, and they told me their jeweler picks up and drops off on Wednesdays. If I brought it in before then, they'd send it out for repair, and it should be ready the following Wednesday. 10/7/25 I went into the Fairfield store and again explained the entire issue. They measured my ring -- it was sized to a size 9, but I need a 7 ¾. They also mentioned I wasn't charged for soldering initially, so if I wanted it soldered now, it would cost extra. I decided to hold off on that. They told me it'd be back the following Wednesday. 10/10/25 Celebrated 10-year wedding anniversary -- without any ring. 10/15/25 Plans changed, and I couldn't pick up the ring that night. My mom offered to do it Thursday afternoon. I called the store to update the pickup info, as I wouldn't be able to get there myself, and they said that was great since they usually receive them between 4-8 PM and they'd update the person scheduled to get it. 10/16/25 My mom arrived around 2 PM, and they told her the ring had just been dropped off that week and hadn't gone out for repair yet. She called me, and I sent her the receipt from when I dropped it off. Then they checked further and found that it actually came back from repair the day before -- but the set still doesn't fit together and will need to go out again next week. My mother expressed how upset I've been through this entire ordeal, and they promised to expedite the repair and ship it if necessary, though they insisted it'd be faster if I picked it up in person, they said it should be ready Tuesday. After reflecting on this nightmare, knowing I'd have to go through all of this again for any future repairs, and reviewing the paperwork, I decided to return it since I'm still within the 60-day window. I contacted the Polaris store where I bought the ring and told them I wanted to start the return process to get my original ring back, explaining why. During that call, I learned that soldering isn't an extra charge after all -- it's covered under the plan I purchased, contradicting what I was told previously. I am beyond disappointed and utterly angry with how this has unfolded. What was supposed to be a special occasion has turned into a draining, exhausting ordeal that's wasted my time, energy, and patience. I can't express enough how outraged I am -- not only by the blatant incompetence but by the complete disregard for my feelings and time. I have four kids, work full time, and simply don't have the luxury to keep running back and forth, dealing with this level of failure from two stores. The fact that this mess has persisted as long as it has -- over and over again -- speaks volumes about the utter neglect and poor management of this company.

Then a problem arose in which his expensive laser testing tool said my bar wasn't gold. It was sealed in a plastic case to protect the bar and the maker's stamping. He suggested I call the company from whom I bought it, which I did but they offered no help. I went back to Tony and asked him to remove the container and rescan it - and all was well. Throughout all this Tony was considerate and helpful, as well as teaching me all the aspects about this sort of thing. I feel like he is a man of integrity and clearly he knows his business! She was very informative and told me what she could do for each setting and stone (some needed more work than others, and some of the stones were less easy to work with). I appreciated her honesty in how well she could restore each piece. Sam definitely under-promised and over-delivered. I just got all 4 rings back and they look like new! Each setting is rounded again (I squashed my rings into ovals), all the dents and scratches to the silver are gone, and the finish of the stones has been reworked and restored.
