They covered all shipping costs, took the time to perform a much more thorough inspection, and provided the detailed breakdown I had originally requested. The follow-up report addressed the authenticity of the individual components in far greater detail and gave me significantly more confidence in their findings. While I still believe the initial service fell short and required me to follow up for updates, I also believe it's important to recognize when a company stands behind its work and makes a genuine effort to correct a mistake. Stoll & Co. did exactly that. No company gets everything right the first time, but how they respond when something goes wrong says a lot about their integrity. They authenticated a vintage Rolex Sibmariner that I purchased through the eBay platform. It arrived and was not working, even though it was working when it was shipped from the seller. I don't think they really know what they're doing nor they care about your product so be aware. My guess is they damaged it during the authentication process and shipped it anyway. You're taking a big risk if you buy it on the eBay platform and have this outfit look at it. Do yourself a favor and explore other options. Be aware that I am not the only one that has had this experience. You have been warned. read more

This place is a scam. I sold an almost new Tudor watch on Ebay I actually took more time stamped pictures for the buyer before packaging it up. It gets set to this scammer S. Hole, the item gets denied by him. They send pictures of a totally different casing that looks like someone ran a hacksaw against it. I already have my lawyer on this. Stoll and company is horrible. They are the authenticator for eBay watch sales. I received a $3k+ Tudor watch from them after it was authenticated and they Did Not put any bubble wrap in the watch box in order to protect the watch from bouncing around in the box while it was shipped...my watch was literally bouncing around inside the watch box all the way from Dayton Ohio to Phoenix Arizona..when I open the watch box the $3k watch was just thrown in there with no protection at all..the watch now has had scratches and damages that weren't there when I purchased the watch. Luckily the movement keeps accurate time and wasn't damaged. Horrible experience and it makes me not want to do business with eBay. I hope EBay can either get to the bottom of these issues or they hire another watch maker to do the authentication. I'm a 1000+ super seller on eBay, never had a negative, and always sold premium watches. By eBay rule, I had to ship my Omega Seamaster to them prior to my buyer, which I did. A week later, I had to call to find out hat the hell was going on, only to find out that they were denying an authenticity card due to a "scratch" not previously disclosed on the crystal. I feel compelled to write this review due to the assistance and great customer service Stoll & Co. provided after purchasing a watch through eBay, and having Stoll & Co authenticate it... I see a number of complaints due to the shipping process after the watch has been authenticated then shipped to the end buyer, I was upset as well and initially regretted the purchase. All of the delivery date/times that FedEx attempts are ALWAYS while you are at work and they provide a 16 hour window of delivery, it's impossible to ensure you are home unless you take the day off of work and commit to staying home to sign for the watch. The alternative is, after three delivery attempts, the watch gets returned to sender. Fast forward to my issue: You are NOT able to have FedEx hold the package for pickup at a ship center location, many people think this is because of the seller or Stoll & Co... It is not, this is due to the negotiated shipping contract between eBay and FedEx, the packages are not eligible to be redirected or held for pickup and nothing you do, and no one you call, can change that. Stoll & Co worked with me, stayed in constant contact, contacted eBay on my behalf, and followed up after the watch was delivered. Excellent customer service for a company who wasn't even part of the sale and likely only made $50-$60 on the authentication. Ebay, to their credit, overnighted the watch to a FedEx center for hold where I could pick it up at my convenience after the watch was sent back to Stoll & Co. I purchased a Tudor FXD from a reputable seller on eBay. The watch was sent to Stoll & Company and authenticated and shipped via Fed Ex to VA. After opening the package I found the watch to be inoperable. I returned the watch to Stoll that same day and lodged a complaint with eBay. EBay customer service was useless and stood by Stoll and blamed the damage to the watch which I possessed for less than an hour on me and denied a refund. I demanded a call from a manager at eBay to discuss my case but haven't received a call or email as yet. Stoll returned the watch to me in working condition without an explanation on what they did to repair the watch. I'm going to take the watch to a local Tudor AD for a check up. The Cartier was quickly authenticated by them and I've been wearing it for about a year until it came time for a routine battery change. I decided to take it to my Cartier AD who offered to do it at no charge. They opened up the watch and it was very obviously a fake, they pointed out how bad of a fake the movement was and they were shocked that the watch ever passed the authenticator. Purchased a watch through the Stoll & Co eBay Authentication program; Stoll & Co completed the inspection SUPER FAST with a turnaround of about 1 day; however it is clear they didn't actually do a real inspection. The watch I received had paperwork with one serial number and the actual watch had a DIFFERENT serial number engraved and easily visible if anyone spent more than 1 minute looking at the watch. In fact I found the discrepancy within minutes of opening the package, and i'm not the 'expert getting paid to authenticate'. It is clear the seller provided wrong paperwork to pump up the value of the watch, but the Stoll & Co "aUtheNTICAtOR" didn't even catch the serial numbers being different on Watch Papers versus Watch; WOW! Tried to get corrected through Stoll & Co and they are useless for customer service support. YELP TEAM - Please do not remove this review, I will provide any all documentation to substantiate these claims and want to avoid this company trying to remove valid reviews. EBay should really consider dropping these guys. I have zero faith in their "authentication services." Seller listed Omega watch as a 40mm (39.5) but with model number 215.30.40..... Stoll "authenticated" the watch as a 215.30.40... (40mm) but the problem is the Manufacturer Omega card included with the watch lists it as 215.30.44, so 44mm. The Ebay "authentication card" and Omega serial numbers match but apparently Stoll didn't bother to read the actual manufacturer cards. There is no way this watch should have been "authenticated" as a 40mm given the manufacturer cards. If they can't even get something that easy correct, who knows if they can tell what's real. read more

I sent my Frederique Constant timepiece to an authorized store in Dayton, Ohio - Stoll & Co. They were requested to replace the band with a similar model. They returned the timepiece but it would no longer clasp. It would have taken me bending the metal clasp to get it to function properly. This time it was returned and would only clasp on the last hole in the band but trying any others would not work. There is only one authorized Michel Herbelin service center in the country without going to Canada. I live in CA. I called Stoll and spoke directly with Chad. He's a nice fellow, gave me clear instructions on what paperwork to send with the watch, and was professional about what the process was. A 30 day turnaround was also given. The warranty repair was completed along with a couple of other issues. Great service from the staff there. If you have a watch that is rare and cannot find a service center in your area, Stoll is your place. Extremely disappointed and shocked. A vintage Omega watch I sold on ebay in August of 2023 was required to go to Stoll & Co to be authenticated. The watch was purchased in 1973 by a family member from a reputable jeweler in Chicago. It had the original outer box, original papers, all papers from a complete maintenance service last year, 2022 by Omega in Switzerland. All replaced parts from the complete maintenance service were also included: bracelet, crystal, bezel, watch hands, etc. There is absolutely no doubt the watch is authentic through and through. I spent a great deal of time researching the best, safest way to ship the watch. I packed it with extreme care, bubble wrapped, then packed in a much larger box with packing peanuts surrounding completely, for protection. Stoll & Co said the watch failed authentication. No detailed explanation was provided. The buyer canceled the sale. I called Stoll & Co. They told me the watch was authentic, but didn't believe Omega would have a new old stock bracelet to put the watch. Because of that, they misjudged the bracelet as not authentic. Just their doubt about the watch bracelet meant the entire watch failed authentication. The watch bracelet doubt could have been resolved by contacting Omega to verify authenticity. I have since received written confirmation from Omega that the bracelet put on was authentic. I also have confirmation from Omega that the serial number inside the watch, which matches the original sale paperwork, is authentic. I spoke with ebay. Apparently they have had issues with vintage watches not being correctly authenticated by Stoll & Co. On the Stoll & Co website, it doesn't appear that they are an Omega factory authorized service center. The lack of thoroughness and lack of competence on the part of Stoll & Co ruined the sale and left a bad impression. Thankfully, the watch was shipped back to me safely, but without my much larger shipping box and packing peanuts surrounding the bubble wrapped watch box. I've sold on ebay for over 10 years and have a perfect reputation. There is no way I would risk ruining the sale of a valuable, vintage watch by having a non-authentic bracelet put on, and have no idea of where a person would purchase something like that. Needless to say, I am now selling the watch elsewhere. Had my brand new daytona stainless sent in for ebay authentication.....they cam back and said watch was used and had been polished. I purchased watch at Razny's in Highland Park (5.0 reviews with 885) brand new and got it because I bought a much more expensive daimond ring from them (super hard was to get).
