I've been coming here for a while but I won't be coming here anymore. The ladies are extremely rude and always look like they don't want to be there. Most of the time they don't even greet you. They don't give you a heads up when they're done doing your eyebrows and just hand you the mirror while you're still laying back waiting for them to say something. Expect to wait a long time also. They're always talking smack about customers in their own language as well and they always expect a tip after their shitty service. Haven't gotten my brows threaded in a loooong time but finally tried out Kaya because my bf has been coming here for a while and trusts only Janu with his brows. Janu listens to your requests and is conservative with threading your brows until she gets your approval. This location has been here for a while and my usual waxing place was closed so I wanted to give Kaya a try. It is very hard to get parking because it's in a plaza with Costco. When I walked in the two ladies working were chit chatting and continued to chit chat instead of helping me out. I only did upper lip because my sister has come here before and they did her eyebrows very thin and I didn't want to risk it. It was my first time threading and it was quick and feels like a hard constant scratch but overall doesn't hurt too bad. My upper lip is very clean but is red and irritated so I am not sure if it is my skin or the way she did it. They also charge a $1 fee for card! read more

My husband (then fiance lol) and I stopped by on Weds, 3/16 at around 4 PM for some pre-wedding threading! The threading place is pretty standard and simple. You go, sign your name, and wait on the side. There aren't any appointments available (that I'm aware of..or at least for eyebrow threading) and it's a walk-in basis. When we arrived, there were a few people in the chairs getting their eyebrows threaded, and some people waiting in the seats on the side. It took a bit of time before they got to us but that's because there were two female staff members but one had just gone on break. The prices had increased (outside there's an advertisement for $5.99), which makes sense since inflation is real. Here are the updated prices as of March 2022 Eyebrows - $7.99 Lip - $3.99 Side - $15 Face - $35 Neck $10 I had my eyebrows + upper lip while the hubby got his eyebrows threaded. I thought my husband's brows were a teensy bit too thin but it might be because we aren't used to his cleaner brows. I'd suggest for other customers to be sure to speak up about what you prefer and what style, etc. I have my eyebrows ombre-tattooed so they usually just have to clean up around them (which I'm sure makes their lives easier lol). I was a teensy bit disappointed with my services. I thought she was not as detailed since she had left some unthreaded brows in a few spots but I just cleaned them up at home. My upper lip was fine. The lady who helped me wasn't particularly nice but just cordial, I guess haha. We paid and tipped in cash. Overall, the price was decent, and they got the job done. This place has really gone downhill. I've been going here for years and they've slowly increased prices and it's on par with pretty much most places now. Not dinging them on that but if you have no other differentiating factor then I would expect to get better service. So it's located in Alhambra in the same plaza as Costco so it can get busy but they're far enough that there's usually parking near their spot. The last time I went it was maybe 15 min until closing which I know is cutting it close and I don't normally do that but they just straight up said that they were closed. Prior to that, I was already not feeling the customer service - the girls doing the eyebrows are always talking loudly and usually ongoing dialogue too cuz I don't mind if they're just saying something quick but there's been times they get so distracted the thread constantly rips and have actually stung me in the face before. Now that I live in Pasadena I'll be looking for a new place to go to. Their prices are nothing special now and the service is terrible. read more

I have been going to the Rosemead location for years, but was running errands in Alhambra so decided to make it easier for myself by coming here. I waited for over 20 minutes and they skipped me by one person until I spoke up. It wasn't their fault because someone else went up when my name was called since supposedly she didn't speak English. COVID EDITION After I called to confirmed they were opened, I stopped in for a much needed threading. They are operating back inside now; no more outdoor set up. Even though they are open, they are only taking 25% capacity. The usual waiting chairs are available every other seat. Not exactly social distance compliant so be mindful of where you sit. However, since I came at an odd time during the middle of the week, I was the only one there. They are back to providing all the services. (I had read in another review that when they were outdoors, they only did eyebrows.) The price for eyebrow threading has increased by a dollar, now $6.99. Other pricing remains the same. Be sure to ask for a "stamp" card at the end of your eyebrow threading. Prior to COVID, the staff would break the thread by putting it in their mouth. They now cut the threads. With everything that is going on now, the staff has on gloves and facemasks the entire time. Parking can be difficult depending on when you come. The lot is shared with Costco and other stores and restaurants. So if possible, show up at odd hours during the weekday if possible. Else there will be a wait. Been coming here since pre-COVID. Kaya was opened three days ago. I called to see if they were opened before I went and they were opened! There was a line out the door since they only let 4 people inside at a time. I went there today and it took one hour. The reason why it took one hour was probably because it was a Saturday and only one person was working there and answering the phone. i usually go to montebello for eyebrow threading but this one is way closer to me and pretty cheap (i was paying $19) when i got there there was already a woman waiting, i wrote my name down, then another woman came in. so they had 3 women waiting. one employee was doing her makeup, one was in the bathroom cleaning and the third one was sweeping. i get cleanliness is important but a simple "we'll be with you shortly" would be amazing. not just ignoring everyone for ten minutes. they market the price as $10.99. but they charge $11. im not going to make a big deal out of me not getting my penny back, but i do notice these things and i find it sneaky. why not just change the price? as far as service my lady did exactly what i told her! also the rest of the ladies were very helpful with the other clients (i overheard them hehe). like they couldve easily said yes when the client asked if she needed her mustache threaded too just to get more money out of her but she said "no, you dont need it yet" which i 100% appreciated. i love my eyebrows and will continue to come, but there's some inconsistencies they should definitely work on. read more

This is my first bad experience getting my eyebrows threaded. The lady doing my eyebrows was bored looking when she sat me down and it felt like she was rushing through my eyebrow job. When she was done, it looked like my right eyebrow was visibly uneven, thicker than the other one, but I wasn't sure if I was imagining it or being nitpicky. After I paid, however, I went to the car and took a few selfies after looking at it in the mirror. It was not only thicker but the way it was threaded, it looked like I was slightly raising that eyebrow. Embarrassed to go out like that, I was torn on whether I should go in to ask for it to be fixed or to go to another threading place. In retrospect I should've gone somewhere else. When I came in, I was hoping someone else would fix it but they told me to wait for the technician who originally did it. She did make it the same thickness as the other one but in the process, she also somehow tore at the hairs near the bottom corners of the eyebrow and made it a jagged line. I also see two lines going through my eyebrow that must have been done maliciously. I never requested that I wanted Charlie Puth eyebrows and that I wanted her to try to split my eyebrow into separate sections. Needless to say, I am never coming back here. It seems like she was trying to accomplish that. I wasn't going to leave a bad review until I noticed how poorly she botched "fixing" my eyebrow. It was only $9 but I have to walk around like this until my eyebrows grow back. I'm not sure what it was about me that deemed me unworthy of having even eyebrows done properly. I was polite to her the entire time but she decided to butcher my eyebrow and perhaps tore a line through it. Lesson learned... If someone does a bad job at a salon, you can't trust them to do any better if you come back inside. I called tho before I go and waste my gas. And Yey there are open. I informed them what happened and that if they are the same branch. And they said yes. Went here for the first time today, and had a quick, great brow threading service! Super friendly staff. Not sure what their hours are each day so I would call before coming. My sister and I tried the other day, but they were closed before their stated hours. They have an outdoor setup in the back, are wearing masks and gloves, and sanitize in between clients. It seems like they do keep the same gloves on but clean them in between uses. That's the one thing I'd like to see changed during these COVID times... but otherwise would highly recommend coming here for your threading needs! read more
