I rented a kayak from this company on a Sunday mid-afternoon. I went out further than planned, going all the way to an island with trees on all sides. I then lost concentration of direction, and long story-short, I ended up going in the wrong direction to the wrong end of the lake. The Company was very accommodating and came by motorboat to bring me back with the kayak. Although it ended up costing me some, they were very nice and professional. As an aside, the actual kayaking was a lot of fun. So I very much recommend this outlet if kayaking in a beautiful lake is your type of thing. read more

The people that run this amazing business also own the hote. The owner, Mike, is one of the nicest people ive met. His son also works there, and like father like son. The kyacks they rent are top quality both 1 and 2 person. The staff provides instruction for novices. The area is a no wake area and is very safe for exploring. You can rent by the hour of for the day. You can sit at their private beech while family and friends are on the lake. Its very accommodating. I can't emphasize how amazing the people are that own this business and the property. You have to come see if you dont believe me. They made our vacation very enjoyable. read more

If you're looking for a fun, family friendly day on the lake, this is the place to be! Jared helped us fill out paper work and was extremely friendly and personable. They even have water proof cases for your phone which was awesome because we forgot all about that! After we filled out the paperwork we walked down the yard to the lake and Allyson helped get all of our kayaks and paddle boards in the water. We went out for two hours and had an awesome time. Upon getting back to the beach, Allyson was down there to help us get off and get out. Jared came running down to assist. They carried our boards and kayaks back. We didn't have to lift them at all, which is amazing when you're with kids! Overall this was an amazing experience and I highly suggest this for anyone who is looking to do some fun water activities. We were staying at the Courtyard and this place was less than a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We had two families in our party with 3 adults and 4 kids. On our first visit, two kids wanted to do stand-up paddle boards so we rented a couple for an hour and my wife went out in a kayak. They were very helpful in making sure we knew how to use the equipment, where we could and couldn't go in the lake, and helped everyone get on or into their equipment. Life vests are provided and required to be worn and there is a whistle on each life vest in case you get in trouble (we were told no one has ever used them). The boys had so much fun and when they returned, wanted to try kayaking, so we rented two single kayaks for an hour and they gave us a discount since we had just rented the SUP's and initial kayak. Another wonderful hour was had and the boys wanted to come back the next day, so we did. This time, we rented a couple of SUP's again and a paddle boat that we were hoping to get 2 adults and a 15 and 13 year old kid in. They did warn us that it likely wouldn't work out as they were intended for 2 adults and 2 small children and they were right. We couldn't even get 3 in the paddle boat, so we sent just one adult and one child out. The original plan was for them to go out for 30 minutes and then we would swap for the last 30 minutes but then I decided to rent another paddle boat for the other adult and child in our party. They said don't worry about it and sent us out on their other paddle boat! That was so very nice of them!! Once that hour was up, my two kids wanted to take a kayak out so they just sent them out in a double kayak! The equipment was in great shape and if you were waiting while others in your party were going out, they have a small area roped off in the lake where you can swim or you can choose to hang out on one of their two hammocks or numerous chairs. They also have an area where you can wash off your shoes and feet on your way out and there is a porta potty available as well. We were so happy we found this place. They offered such great customer service and really made sure we were having a good time. We made sure to leave a nice tip for them and will definitely be back on our next visit to Lake George. read more

We spent a couple of hours kayaking on Lake George after renting from this place. They have basic plastic, one-piece kayaks, nothing special. They give you a ton of restrictions, like you have to stay near shore, no jumping out to swim (and one that kind of annoyed us: no dogs). Their rates are more expensive than another place in Bolton Landing, so you may want to check that out instead. It was nice to get out on the lake, but there's nothing that impressive about this outfit. The people renting the kayaks were nice enough though. read more

Kayak Lake George is actually located within the Shore Meadows Motel right by the beach on Lake Ave., and is only about a half mile walk from the main downtown area of Lake George Village. I called the day before our Kayak outing to reserve 2 single kayaks for my husband and I, and only had to leave my name and the time we'd be arriving. No holding deposit necessary. We were told what employee would be on duty when we would arrive, and where to go. We got there, found the employee, Joe, and he quickly processed our paperwork and payment, gave us our life jackets, got our kayaks in the water, and gave us a quick push off the beach. We had a great time kayaking up and down the shore line. A bit of a challenging workout for someone who does not normally kayak, but a lot of fun. We initially thought we would want to do 2 hours, but he only charged us for 1 and said if we wanted to stay out longer, he'd charge us the additional when we returned. Once we got out on the water, we realized an hour would be enough for us. Once we returned to shore, we left our kayaks on the beach, returned our jackets to the shed, and told another employee that we were checking out. Nothing to be done at that point. Overall, a good experience on a beautiful day on the lake. We'd use Kayak Lake George in the future if we should get the bug for kayaking again. read more

Mike, the owner, was friendly and helpful. We (a big group of 15) arrive 52 mins before closing and they pleasantly prepped all of us. Towards the end, his team had to send out a jetski to "rescue" one of our friend whose kayak tipped over and wasn't about to kayak back....all with a smile. I called the office to book 10 tandem kayaks for our group , but we were kinda surprised with the price $40 per hour, because we love go kayaking and we usually pay $40-50 for the half day, but after the guy on the phone offered $60 for half day (4 hours) for one tandem kayak we gladly accepted it ($60 sounds so much better than $160) and said that we will be there in one hour and they promised to have 10 tandem kayaks ready. First disappointment was after our arrival: they said that they don't have enough tandem kayaks for us. Then, when we filled out registration form they said that the price is $40 per hour we said that it might be a mistake because we discussed $60 for half day on the phone, but owner started to talk very disrespectful and rude with us, he was telling that he wasn't making any offers and if we don't want to pay, he want us to leave now I have never been insulted like this. And because there is no other place to rent kayaks in the southern part of Lake George and we were not able to pay $1600 for 4 hours of kayaking, our trip was ruined. I couldn't even imagine that something like this will ever happened to me in the States. read more

We had a BLAST when we Kayaked on Lake George... we wanted to find one of the best places to rent Kayaks from so I went online and looked at various places. A lot of the places have lots of things to rent so it's very crowded with people and you have to make appointments and it's very overwhelming. This place really only rent out single and double kayaks, paddle boards. It's on a little dead in Street onto the lake. You could rent The Kayaks for anywhere from 1,2 or 3 hrs. We decided to rent two double kayaks for 1 hr. on the lake. It was about $39.99 per kayak so it came to about $82 w/tax. They have different sized kayaks of a make sure depending on the weight of the people in the kayak you're given the appropriate one. The kayak I had with my boyfriend's daughter was a little bit smaller different color than the one he had with his son due to weight distribution. They provide you with the life vest we were water shoes which they suggest you wearing. They go over the rules they tell you how to kayak if you've never done it before. I had never done it before but his daughter who will be 12 I had gone before so her and I went and one kayak him and his son who is 7 went together they've never kayaked before. We had a blast..there was a little wind that day & of course when the speed boats went flying by you would get the little waves coming to you but we didn't flip or anything you just had some little water flop over the sides. We didn't go too far away from where we going from the rental area. And of course you can't go far into the lake because you can get fined by going over the designated area. Where you bring your kayak back there is a little swim area that is roped off that the kids then went and swam in and there was a whole duck family over there that they were looking at. This was a small family-owned type place which I liked. When we were kayaking we saw some of the other places that rent it out maybe six different things in the lines of people was ridiculous. They do take reservations which they recommend especially on the weekends we called that Monday morning around 10 their hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and they said they really was no need to make a reservation during the week & we had no problem renting out. There's not a lot of parking on that dead-end street there there's maybe eight spots and it is meter parking so you need quarters or they will give you change of a dollar for quarters. We will definitely do it again next year and maybe rent for 1.5 -2 hrs. read more

Came down without a reservation and we were treated like family! We rented a double kayak for $38 for 1 hour. Everybody was helpful, the equipment was clean and gently used. The water, scenery and beautiful day just added to the already great experience! Easy walk from town too. We asked for a suggestion on where to relax and get some sun and Mike offered us the private beach right In front of the motel. There was a group of about 12 of us and Mike was so fast to accommodate all of us considering it was very last minute. He was so incredibly nice and was not hesitant to give us any suggestions on places to eat or things to do at night. He also offered to let us to come back there and park so we didn't have to find other spots when we came back for dinner. He then continued to offer to let us watch the fireworks on the beach. We didn't stay at Shore meadows but it looked like a great place to stay. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to kayak/paddleboard. Thanks again Mike! read more
