This store does a great job getting you into a kayak and the team that's at the water helps you get in the kayak and out onto the water super fast! They have a wealth of kayaks there to pick from double and single kayak as well as paddle boards. Nice door front and when you actually buy something, you could take advantage of a 20% discount that day on any of the items inside the store. Just note that there is a blackout day if you do a Groupon price. My experience was fantastic from start to finish! Tom provided exceptional customer service. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and took the time to answer all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. Tom's friendly attitude made the entire experience even better. The pricing was also very reasonable, especially considering the breathtaking views you get out on the water. The shop also had a great selection of apparel and accessories. One thing that really came in handy was the waterproof phone cover they offered. Everything was fine and the people here were great, just prices seem a bit high. You can only rent them out for 4 hour sessions for $35. Wish they had a 2 hour session for less. You can keep your personal belongings in your car or they have lockers but it cost $4. I reserved over the phone and it was easy. We arrived early and the have 4 parking spots at front. We parked on the street so we can just cross the street and go to the beach after kayaking ( FYI - street parking gets crazy after 8:30 am) There was hardly any wait time to get the gear and get going. All the young men were super friendly and courteous. One can select a kayak for two or single. I recommend single even if you have never done it before. Prices are reasonable and great value for the 3 hours they give you. Everyone was so nice, the older man seemed impatient and a bit rude, but he gave a 20% discount on purchases that day and offered a 10% on rentals if we go back. Might just make paddle boarding my entire personality. I recently went on a paddle boarding trip in both Phoenix and San Diego and instantly fell in love. As soon as I got home I purchased my very own inflatable stand up paddle board. Since I'm now a SUP spokesperson, I had to drag everyone I know along for this adventure. Enter OEX Sunset Beach rentals. Our first day on the water was in the harbor of Sunset Beach, gear provided by OEX. Their rentals were incredibly affordable, $20 for three hours if you rent early in the day. Their customer service was top tier. They even extended the rental after we accidentally went beyond the 3 hour period. Beginners can start on their butts and eventually make it to their knees. After a bit of practice you'll easily be able to accomplish standing. Especially if you already have decent balance! Such a fun and affordable activity to do in Orange County. Surprisingly so much fun and perfect weather for double person kayaking in the winter. It felt so serene and peaceful. Andy was great and we were on the kayak within 5 minutes of arriving there. Parking was also convenient as they have parking on their lot. Due to full moon, he shared that they have super high high tides and super low low tides. We were able to enjoy lunch that we had packed at a park beach nearby. I had kayaked before, during the summer, and this felt more relaxing with less people on the beach. We loved taking our time thru the canals, looking at boats and beauitful houses. Overall a great expereince and will def be returning again to try paddle boarding. read more

My friend and I took the tour package. We were both first timers in a kayak. I loved everything about it! Being with friends and enjoying the water in a way I had never known. The kayaks are super stable -- one would need to deliberately tip the kayaks to fall into the water. Our tour guide, Tom Jones, is just an amazing human being. I enjoyed him telling us about his unbelievable adventures in various outdoor sports as much as his knowledge about this secret gem hidden in Huntington Beach. I was going to try to do a kayaking lesson in the Naples canals in Long Beach but I am so glad I chose HB. The water is cleaner, the canals are wider, and the scenery is fabulous! For you bird watchers -- some pretty rare species of birds perch near the water thanks to the close proximity of the Bolsa Chica wetlands preserve. I'm planning on getting a rental pass for the summer so I can enjoy kayaking here, so needless to say, I would recommend Everyday California to anyone. If you've never been in a kayak before, taking the tour package is probably better than diving right into the rentals -- I felt so much safer with Tom at the lead -- teaching the rules of the road, how to get in and out of the kayak, and various ways to maneuver your boat. Wow! What a lovely experience doin the kayaking and snorkeling through these guys. So that area in La Jolla is FILLED with snorkeling shops. I had a chance to look into all of them and I thought that this place was the best. The other ones seemed very touristy and over crowded. This place was cute because its also a surf shop that has great clothing and the vibes/staff are much more laid back, which I prefer. The kayaking and snorkeling part was amazing. I was lucky to get two great guides, COLBY and PHIA. I recommend them! I was doing the experience solo and Colby asked if he could jump on my kayak and I said absolutely. He made the experience so lovely, funny and interesting! Both Colby & Phia were also VERY knowledgeable about local wild life as well. They are apparently the only shop in town that is required to also learn about the wild life, next to their first aid+ I very much recommend taking this experience. Such a fun time to kayak and see all the fishies and sea lions by the cove! 10/10 read more
