Late at night after drinking and walking off your huge meal from Huey's, sometimes you just need a slice.. the pieces were ginormous and late night you get the option of cheese or pepperoni. DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL if you value customer service or equal treatment of people. It's literally my FIRST night in savannah, I walked into the establishment around 1030pm-starving after a long day of walking. From the moment I walked in probably the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. The girl behind the counter who seemed stoned out of her mind, and no interest in doing her job. We walked in asked her if those were the only two flavors available ( pepperoni and cheese) and asked if she had any garlic knots available, being from New York this is EXTREMELY NORMAL for a pizza joint - looked at me like I had five heads. She gave my sister a piece of pizza which legit lost entire shape torn apart not edible ATALL all I asked the girl todo was switch it out and give us a different slice, she threw out the pizza and gave us a refund and completely IGNORED me and my family. I constantly kept asking her to give us a new slice and even asked her what my sister is supposed to eat for dinner? COMPLETELY IGNORED ME!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! And then I asked her for her name and then again constantly ignored me- we even asked her why she was so rude no response? She was Just trying to avoid as she continued serve other customers while we were standing in front of the register. We did nothing to this girl...this pizza is also extremely over priced for the quality ($4.50). BEST PIZZA! Came here after a night out with very low expectations on drunk food...but my friend and I were so pleasantly surprised by we came back the second night. The dough is herb- infused, giving the pizza full flavor every bite. The crust is the best part- it is soft and flavorful just like normal bread steak. So I could have sworn this place was called Sweet Melissa's not even a whole year ago but I'm guessing they got a new owner or something? Idk, that doesn't really matter. I normally come here drunk after coming out of 51 so I've never really had the time to sit down and order a whole fresh pie. I normally only get a slice. But Sunday I came with a group of people, 6 of us to be exact so the logical thing to do was to order the biggest pizza they have. And that we did. $44 for a pizza that can hardly fit on the table. And it is totally worth every penny. What I don't remember though is the crust being so thin at the bottom to where it's almost transparent. But everything else from the cheese to the sauce to the pepperoni was great. What I do think though is this place is definitely a great spot to come for 2 things. 1. If you're trying to feed a group of people with out spending an arm and a leg this is the place to come and 2. We were in town overnight and unfamiliar with the area. We decided to order a pizza from Kay's Pizza which had an estimated delivery time of 30-40 minutes and is 1 mile away. We placed our $30 order for one pizza and 2 waters. Our order which included a pre-selected tip choice arrived at 10:30 after several unanswered and then evasive phone calls to both the restaurant and the delivery service. If that weren't bad enough, as hungry as we were... the pizza was so cold, the cheese was hard, they did not send the order with our topping, it was just cheese, and they only brought 1 of our 2 drinks. After trying to eat a piece, my son and I were so disgusted with the hard , cold , greasy pizza that we closed it up and called Kay's. The girl that answered got defensive about the order placed, arguing. She did not at least apologize for the 2 hour wait, the condition of the pizza or the absence of part of our order. She never offered a new order , or a refund. And then she had the audacity to say if we were downtown, we could come by and she would give us other drink. It is a Sunday night, I don't think there was a mad rush on pizza and someone may want to teach their first impression staff, how to get a return customer or at least not get a lengthy negative review on Yelp from someone who has never left a food review . The absolute WORST SERVICE EVER! we paid online for a whole pizza, only to come and wait in line for 10 minutes to find out that they dont take orders after a certain time!!!! Nowhere was this stated by them or the 3rd party ordering service. I understand a miscommunication between the restaurant and the 3rd party ordering system but, the attitude from the brown headed girl and dirty blonde man at the counter, and complete disregard for the funds already deducted from our debit card. This is unacceptable. The pizza is mediocre, at best, and the workers there clearly dont care about the reputation of the establishment. Save your money because it is lackluster pizza with absolutely horrid service. Good reviews or not, this place is a scam and you should not waste your money. Wanted to find a good pie while visiting, Kay's was in walking distance of the hotel. Its flavor is a little unconventional - kind of reminded me of a pizza I had in the Netherlands - but good as a change-up from the ordinary. My husband and I wanted to support this business for giving away free pizza during the pandemic. We came for lunch and my husband went inside with our daughter to order and then take the food to go. He paid and tipped for everything ordered as we did not want to take food for free. The woman working at the front (1:30pm on 4/14/20) was incredibly rude from the start. My husband brought my food to the car where I was waiting with our baby and went back to get the rest of the food. Part of our PAID FOR order was missing- when he asked about it the woman began screaming at him that he had already gotten the pizza and to get out as they were trying to limit the number of people inside. She then made a derogatory comment about my 2year old and compared her to a dog. This person is an absolutely disgusting individual who should be fired immediately. We live in Savannah and will never return here. We came to pay for food and support this business and were treated horribly. I would like my husband to receive an apology from this business.
