First time there for lunch. Heard good things. Few similar places in town closer to us. That were ok. So running out places to try we go for lunch. Parking sparse, but we found a spot close. It's cute from the outside, but the inside is rustic chic. Variety of choices on menu but not over welming. I got the Maryann with chips and mom got the Bama with the sweet potato fries we heard about. Wait wasn't long ,but we came after lunch crowd. We drove through Dothan from the beach. We had heard about KBC and thought it would be a nice treat based on the reviews. We stopped in for lunch. Must have been an off day, unfortunately. Again, this is just our experience. First, the atmosphere was fun - very open and appealing. Second, our server was excellent - great personality and attentive. My friend ordered the Sunday Supper - one protein (the brisket) and two sides (sweetie fries and roasted vegies). When it arrived in three bowls, he asked for sauces (catchup/mayo for the fries, and anjou sauce for the brisket. Before they were brought, he tasted the fries. Cold. He tasted the brisket. Cold. He tasted the roasted vegies. Warm. He had to send the fries and the brisket back, and they arrived hot second time around. His comments were that there was nothing exceptional about the food. Not bad, just not something special. I ordered the roasted vegies and the Yes Sir, Yes Ma'am (croque monsieur transformed into croque madame with an egg on top). I thought the taste of the sandwich was excellent. The egg was a nice addition and the flavors melded together to form a savory dish. However, the texture was not crispy enough, (isn't croque supposed to mean "crisp"?) which made the bread a bit soft (though not quite soggy). Roasted veggies were nothing special. On other matters - coffee tasted fresh. Hostess gave us the Sunday Brunch menus, but our server quickly fixed that. Our plates were delivered to the table behind us by another server, but that was also quickly rectified. So, a rating of 2 means "it could have been better." And it could have. I can't recommend this restaurant based upon our visit. That's a shame and a disappointment. read more

I've been wanting to try this restaurant out for awhile! I travel here for work frequently and until recently they were not open for dinner during the week. The service was wonderful! My server was Deion.. he was very nice and took great care of me. My sandwich was good . My biggest remark is the young lady who owes the restaurant. As a business owner in Georgia I would recommend talking and greeting your customers instead of not acknowledging their in your restaurant. Whenever I'm in Dothan I love stopping by to eat here! Today was the first time I went in where it was remodeled and made into a sit down restaurant. Unfortunately, I felt like there should've been a wait time given by the host because the service was extremely slow and we had to wait atleast 30-40 minutes to even get seated. The food was good (like always) I got the Bees Knees and my cousin got the The Truck Stop and we both really enjoyed our meal but it was another 30 minutes of wait time for the food to come out. I spent a bit longer than I would've liked in here but it was overall a very cute place to eat at. I will say that there needs to be more servers because our server did not come by to refill our drinks. I was unable to locate her the entire time we were there since the place seemed to short staffed and all the servers were just everywhere and didn't have designated tables to serve. Delicious!! We had the Honey Baby and Rulin The Roost salads, the red pepper soup, sweet potato fries and an oatmeal cookie wow! This place is not good for a date because you cannot reliably get a table. They do not accept reservations and will often stop taking names an hour before closing. If you want to insure you can get a table and don't want to gamble on when they decide to stop taking names I'd recommend going somewhere that accepts reservations. read more

The food is amazing . The street tacos is my personal favorite . The only reason I don't give them a 5 start review is because of the waitress that we had . Her name was Tara if I remember correctly. She wasn't as pleasant as the other waitress I have encountered here in the past . She avoided the table completely, would walk by fill our water up and disappear again. I Had Saturday lunch with my husband at KBC. The dining and outdoor areas are really nice. We got there around 11:30 and were supposed to have an hour wait but turned into only about half that. The food is good and the sweet tea is fantastic. My order was messed up but I dealt with it by removing the parts of the burger I didn't want instead of sending it back. The burger was not as good this time as the first time I went. And with brunch and mimosas being served it may not have been the best time to go to have a quiet lunch. It was very loud and it was very crowded. I might would go back but never during the weekend. read more

Very good. Have been to KBC twice. Had the Butcher Block sandwich. Meat was tender and sandwich was yummy. Only complaint was meat was cold. Had a roast beef sandwich on our first visit that was not on menu on our second trip. Believe the roast beef sandwich may have been better. Place was packed for lunch but service was good. We ordered wings and ribs and they didn't bring us napkins (for finger food) and didn't come back to check on us, so we had dirty hands for half the time. Awesome little sandwich place on Foster street. Ordering is done at the front counter and they will bring the food out to you. Service was fast! We ate at the outdoor patio which has a really good vibe. The brick and plants create a really nice atmosphere. I had the "butchers bite" and loved it. One of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. Sweet potato fries even had some class with Parmesan on top. Love this place! Dropped off my car to get the windows tinted and went walking around the downtown and found this little place just as they opened. Prices are just right for what you are getting. Checked Yelp on a whim on my family's way to Dothan for the day, and we were certainly not disappointed by this place. I've been living in NYC and my family is your typical Southern type, and all of us were really into the vibe at KBC. We were there for brunch and had great mimosas and beer, and all extremely enjoyed out food. Two of us got the Bee's Knees, one got the chicken biscuit and one had the Rustlin' Feathers. Still 4 stars. Went for dinner, the good was great, then there was the not so good too. We tried an assortment of appetizers to get the most of the experience. The wings were pretty dang good. Could use some sauce or something. The tuna spread was ok. Kind of too stiff to spread but good smoky flavor. Nacho chips were on the side, I would have preferred something different, like a sliced toasted bread. The flat bread margarita pizza was really good. The pesto was the sauce, great flavor. The flat bread smoked duck was excellent. Great flavor, and the arugula helped with a bit of flavor kick. The brussel sprouts were nicely toasted, bit of crunch on the leaves. Then the fritters. The description said bacon in them, neither of us could find or taste any bacon. They were mushy on the inside and lacked any flavor. The sauce with them was good, but that was the only good thing about the dish. So 4 stars might be pushing it, but I think it's more than 3. read more

The food was great but the service was terrible. The waitress was incredibly rude and had a negative attitude every time she came to talk to us. We would have had a really great night here and would come back frequently if it weren't for the service ruining the mood of the night. We stopped here on the way home from 30-A. I ordered the Uncle Bo (with no bacon) and my hubs had the Big's bowl. Complete opposite ends of the food spectrum and both were fantastic. I have no issues with paying $15/meal when the meal is good- and this place is great! The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The decor is rustic and funky. The bathrooms even had extra diapers in them for your little ones. You can tell this place is handled with care and love for food/customers. read more
