This had the potential to be very good, but unfortunately it didn't cut it for me. Cute little spot nestled into a shopping strip with a private parking lot. I was so excited to try it after reading about this spot in a local paper. Ordered some nuggets and a pretzel brat, which sounded yummy. I have driven by this place several times but never had the chance to stop in. Yes I know that Pretzels is in the name, but I expected more. They had a few options of "Pretzel Dogs" and Nuggets, but there really was nothing special. Kind of expected some pretzel hot pocket, some different style of bread, even the dips were your standard. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. Highly recommend this place. The pretzels were so soft and delicious. We called a day before hand and placed a custom order. The pretzels were hot, chewy, soft, and just prefect all the way around. I love the dipping sauce options. We got like 3 of every sauce and the jalapeño cheese sauce was the crowd favorite,(aside from the original mustard sauce of course.) I would highly recommend this place. Boy, what a joke that was too. Small dark orange balls in it like either it was old, or not warmed completely through. I've never tasted cheese sauce that was completely bland. Unbelievable. My mother-in-law mentioned she'd been recently so, foggy-headed with jet lag, I headed out. Brought a regular (no salt, thank you) and a cinnamon sugar home for my daughter who was at work and didn't get to eat them for five hours. Her petite little self scarfed down both of those cold pretzels, commenting, "Oh my God, even the mustard is amazing!" I know girl, I know! First I thought I was getting a full-sized pretzel-shaped pretzel, but the young man proceeded to cut one in half, put it in a paper bag and hand it to me. I sat by the window and proceeded to eat it. The pretzel was not very warm and had obviously been sitting under a heater for a while. The flavor was not impressive, but I did not expect anything unusual. Frankly I've had better, and fresher, pretzels from street vendors in New York. My husband and I came back in a couple of months ago and can say that we had a much better experience! We actually had a second helping, we enjoyed them so much. Two things were different on our second visit: 1. They were softer and hotter on this visit. 2. We had adjusted our expectations. These pretzels are a different style than what we're used to. They're not as soft as Auntie Anne's or Pretzel Time, as they are Philadelphia style, which we had never experienced. This visit, we had a better idea of what to expect. If we lived closer, we would have made it in again, but we'll definitely try to visit next time we're headed out that way. I had a lunch from Pretzel Boy's. I think the dough they use for their pretzels is more satisfying than other pretzels I've tried. The dough is more substantial in a good way. My cheddar brat was flavorful and despite traveling for a bit before being able to eat it, it stayed warm. The jalapeño cheese sauce was delicious. My combo came with a pretzel as well. I love salt but not too much and it was salted just how I would have done it. My splurge was a cinnamon sugar pretzel with a side of frosting that also was cinnamon flavored. It was all yummy. Love that there's a local place to get soft pretzels on the go here in KC. I've been in a few times before, and we came in to use a reward this past weekend. They use 5 star rewards, and I had got one for 2 free softies. I had only had the regular pretzels up until now, and we both wanted to try a cinnamon one. We asked the guy at the counter if we could do one of each, and he said yeah, it was just a slight up charge for the cinnamon. It only ended up being around 79¢ and it was so worth it. The cinnamon sugar softie is amazing! I'm not sure what makes it so perfect, but it was definitely the favorite between myself and my boyfriend! We didn't get anything to dip in this time, but next time we'll try it with the vanilla icing. It's safe to say we'll definitely be back for more! read more

I'll start off with the good. The staff was friendly and answered our questions. The place was clean. Now on to to the negatives. It may be my expectation, but the pretzels were harder than I'm used to. The softie was not soft, it was chewy and had hard edges. In fact it was tough. This did not sit well either with the hot dog and braut pretzels. The meat slid through instead of sticking to the pretzel so you can eat it together. I had the Pretzel Brat and it was delightful. I had a Yelp Coupon for a free hot pretzel with check in, and I added an order of melted cheddar cheese to it and boy was I surprised. Hot, fresh, soft and salty, what more could you ask for? The brats, and sausages are made here locally by FRITZ, and they make the best in town. The best pretzel shop in KC. Hands Down. No where else can you stop in, grab a pretzel, and hit the road. This place is perfect just like the pretzel shops in STL and Philadelphia. The pretzels are good. The cinnamon sugar softie is not to be missed. I was starving after a run on the Indian Creek Trail, so I picked up the bratwurst dog and a regular softie. It was $5.50. The bratwurst dog was fantastic. It was everything I could hope and dream of in a pretzel dog. Seriously, perfect. My buddy got the cinnamon sugar softie so we split that one and my salty one. They were very good and very filling. I was anticipating getting dinner when I got home but it filled me up all evening. They cater the NEJC Chamber meetings pretty often. I've had their antouille (sp) breakfast sausage several times, and their pretzel bites. That breakfast sausage pretzel is amazing. I'd pay $8 just for that and a coffee. I don't think they offer it every day, just for catering. Anyways, This place is great. It's awesome being able to grab a great pretzel without walking inside a mall or getting food at a gas station (even if that gas station is QT). AND THEIR PRICES ARE THE SAME AS QT!!! Even cheaper when QT isn't offering the summer special. Support local business, do yourself a favor and get some pretzels next time you get the munchies. They're open all freaking day. Awesome local place in a strip mall serving some of the nicest soft pretzels anywhere. Driving around Nall and 95th and didn't see many places to get a quick meal until I spotted this place. Took a quick look at the menu boards and picked a hot polish combo with a regular softie, large drink and ordered the jalapeño cheese dip with it ($0.80 extra). First, I love the crispy exterior pretzel wrapping over the polish sausage. It actually helps to keep the sausage moist and juicy. The softie is a Philly style pretzel and they way it's shaped, long and thin, helps when dipping it in the cheese. I will definitely try this place again when I'm in the area. read more
