Blackstone Reuben with sweet potato fries.
    Lisa W.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely afternoon on the patio today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We wanted to try the Reuben that's a special in March for only 1 week! Super delicious with the caramelized onions, melting cheese and tangy sauce that had some heat! The calamari is always good but honestly, the fish and chips were some of the best we've had anywhere!! Great service from Faith and [[HIGHLIGHT]]we love the Leawood location as it is enormous and so even if there's a wait, it's never long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went to Red Door today for burgers. We got the Classic Burger with fries and Sweet Cheeses Burger with slaw. Both burgers were excellent. Cooked just right. Big burgers and very tasty. Also, sides were very good [[HIGHLIGHT]]Red Door is a big restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a really nice place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went on a Monday. On Monday's they have a $5 Classic burger. You can add cheese or bacon for an additional charge. Fries are an additional $2. Also, they off a couple of their other burgers at a reduced price. So, the Classic burger with fries was only $7. The Sweet Cheeses burger with a side was $9. In either case these were a great deal in today's prices. I guess we were the last to know of this special. We walked in and the place was packed. We got one of the last open tables. By the time we left there was a line waiting for a table. Given their burger special I certainly understand the line. You can call ahead and get a reservation. One other comment. When it came time to pay the tab our server came to the table with a portable pad type machine. It showed the amount due, and I could put my credit card in it, add the tip and get a paper receipt (if I wanted). It was all very efficient.

Stopped in at red door during restaurant week. They were offering a very reasonable three course meal that was delicious. We sat at the bar and we were easily able to make conversation with the bartender. The staff was very helpful and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is your standard neighborhood bar with a little upscale vibe to the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started off with a side of fries and the bison chili. The bison chili was my personal favorite. A unique twist of the traditional lacked with great flavor. For the second dish we got the grilled salmon and cheesecake for dessert. A great restaurant week menu with reasonable prices with flavorful food.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We went on Monday night night and it was PACKED![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have burger specials and it is a very popular night. We ended up sitting at the bar and the service was fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a ton of TVs to watch your favorite sports game and a fully stocked bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the Meatloaf and it was REALLY good. Even though, the place was busy, the food still came really fast and still tasted amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great vibes going on here and definitely worth making a stop here!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food and quantity was great! Burger was juicy, full, a good classic burger. The Bleu cheese wasn't strong so no need to worry about the cheese overpowering the burger. More Aioli could be more though. Fries were crispy!!! The Nachos were great! Not too overpowering, not soggy, great flavor! The chicken was good too! Pretty moist! The corn side was eh though

Just a basic burger for a little more than basic price. The classic and the sweet cheese burgers were what we ordered. While the fries were surprisingly delicious, the burgers were mediocre at best. Definitely overpriced for what you get. The sweet potato fries were an extra $2 but not the best, and the fountain drinks had a funky taste to them. If you're looking for a good burger, this might not be the spot for you.

This is exactly what you think of with an upscale bar and grill. Typical menu with many elevated options as well that made it stand out from an ordinary bar. The service was pretty good throughout the meal and they were conducive to a large group with kids. The restaurant had a warm lodgey feel that was exactly what we were looking for on a chilly Kansas afternoon. The food was flavorful and creative, but the texture left something to be desired. The miso salmon was a highlight for sure but the chicken sandwich was drastically overcooked. People in our group really enjoyed the burgers and fries as well.

Busy busy busy on a Wednesday night, but who isn't this time of year?? The seasonal drinks are pretty good, nothing to write home about, but the vibe is great! I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl of tomato soup with extra cheese fritters - comfort food at its finest in this bitterly cold weather. My partner and I also loved the Philly steak egg rolls, but we're suckers for any food masquerading as a completely different food. I could pass on the $5 tiny dish of undercooked veg (maybe I would have been better off getting the Brussels with bacon). A solid choice for a reasonably priced hot meal, and we saw lots of people celebrating birthdays, work outings, and friend group gift exchanges - it definitely is the spot for that type of outing! We'll be back!

Nachos with Carne Asada. Super good.

The cilantro was super fresh, the pork was flavorful, and the potatoes tied it all together perfectly. Portion size was just right and the price felt fair for what you get. On this last visit I got the West Coast Omelet (bacon, onions, tomatoes, and cheese topped with a couple of avocado slices). It comes with a side of rosemary potatoes and an English muffin. I swapped the muffin for a biscuit. I had forgotten their biscuits are more similar to a cross between cornbread and cake. I'd prefer just a regular biscuit even though their style of biscuit is interesting. The omelet and biscuit was large. The rosemary potatoes are delicious and I'd have loved to have a bit more of them. I really enjoyed the omelet as well! I had to take about half of the omelet and biscuit to go. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I think there dishes tend to be a bit more sweet and while I love sweet, if I'm eating savory, I'm picky about the sweetness. I think that is a personal preference and I'm sure some people love it. My server was Kat (Katerina) and she was great. Very patient and helpful. She happened to be my server both times I've been there! The restaurant is very clean with a comfortable, welcoming environment. It's always nice to see their messages of kindness. We could use a lot more of that these days! Cruelty seems to be in fashion now. It's refreshing to go somewhere promoting kindness! I'd go back just for that bit the service is outstanding and the food is really good!

The yolk should run and these didn't. Not the end of the world, but when you cooks eggs all day it would have been nice to have them not overcooked. It tasted ok. The corned beef was good and I would get that again, but not on a benny. The hollandaise was ok but a bit bland. I was expecting some lemon flavor and that tangy kick but it was super mild. It was fine just not to my liking. My wife got a breakfast quesadilla and it was stuffed full and was better than mine. I had a bite and it was pretty flavorful but we did have to pay extra for sour cream which was weird, but whatevs. The place has a lot of signs inside. Not sure what i make of it but there were enough of them that we both noticed. Our server was good but a bit quirky. For instance, she sat us and as we were sitting down she asked if we knew what we wanted. Not rude or anything like that we just thought, hmmm that was interesting. We told no we needed to look at the menu and it was all fine. I just think she had a quirky personality, nothing off putting. We kind of laughed about it and went on. More of a story than anything else that we talk about and get a kick out of. Overall the place was ok. We would come back if we were close around that area and hungry but we probably wouldn't drive across town to eat there.

Tried the Texas Benny which was really good. The gravy was tasty but the potatoes weren't seasoned or salted. Also tried the Denver scrambler. I ordered with breakfast potatoes but ended up getting hash-browns but besides that it was good. They did fully butter my bread when I would've wanted the option on how much to apply. Also tried their horchata which didn't have as much cinnamon as I'm used too but still super yummy. There weren't many people here on a Sunday at 9 but they seemed to be running around while having one big party. Our order came out pretty quickly, though another employee had to run out with something that was left out. About five minutes into the drive home, the restaurant called again--another item had been forgotten. I turned around and called when I got back. They offered a free drink, which we declined. At that point, the food was already cooling off, and we still had a 10-minute drive ahead, so waiting around for drinks didn't seem worth it. Mom got the Eggibirria Omelette and really liked it. I tried a bite and thought it was good too. A little too "wet" for me, but that's just personal taste. Now, about my order: The Mamba Burrito. It was big, and the spinach cheese dip was actually really good--though some of it leaked into the bag during our trips. My main issue is with the burrito itself. The menu says it's filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, chorizo, pico de gallo, and potatoes, topped with spinach cheese dip. That's not quite how I'd describe it. Honestly, it should say: "A giant flour tortilla filled with potatoes (and a few other things if you dig around enough)." The potatoes weren't just part of the mix--they were the mix. The eggs were barely noticeable, buried in what felt like a mountain of spuds. Bacon showed up in a few random flakes. The sausage and chorizo were there, but the chorizo was not a flavor I enjoyed and I usually love chorizo. And the pico? Maybe a spoonful, tops. To be blunt, I think I could've ordered two full-sized baked potatoes and still ended up with less potato than what was packed into that burrito. It was just too much--overwhelming and totally out of balance. I'm not saying I'd never go back; sometimes a place deserves a second shot. But with so many options out there, this one's not exactly high on my list for a return visit.

They absolutely have the processes of this little restaurant honed to perfection, and even during a busy lunch time kept things humming so that there was minimal wait time (to order, for the food to be brought out, and to pay for our meal). Many, MANY thanks to Robert, who seated us, took our order, brought our food out, and settled our bill. He was friendly, efficient, and so welcoming. It was a joy to watch him work; he made sure to greet each and every customer coming in the door, and was consistently so upbeat and positive. And many, MANY thanks to Tony at the grill! Our food was FANTASTIC!! I have high standards for Mediterranean food, and the falafel wrap was totally delicious! The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). It was a truly memorable meal, and we'll definitely be back! Again, MANY thanks to Robert and Tony for such a great lunch. We appreciate you!
