For youngsters it's suggestible to stay in kaanapalli, which is northern part of Maui. However, Kealia Resort, which is southern part of Maui,is perfect to stay as well. Unit 208 has partial ocean view and access to beach. Place is beautifully decorated with all the required stuff. It has beach chairs, towels, body boards and snorkel gear

We loved it here! The condo was clean and had wonderful access to the beach. The lawn chairs were provided and the pool was kept nice and clean. Staff was friendly and on top of everything; Roger came to check us in, even when he was out of his office, and every morning we saw Sherry cleaning the pool and barbecue area. The location is central to many restaurants and attractions; it's within walking distance of the local farmers market and ABC store. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Our second time staying at these condos and we loved it! We first stayed in 102 which has 2 beds and was bigger. It was a good size for our group of 3 and had all the right amenities. This year we stayed in 101 which was smaller in size but perfect for my husband and I but I can't imagine having more people. Location is everything and this complex is amazing with direct beach access steps away. The bottom floors you can just walk right out to the pool and beach! It's also very centrally located and in close proximity to Kihei, Wailea, Maaelea Harbor, Lahaina and the airport. Sugar Beach is very quiet with soft sand so perfect place for a relaxing getaway. I would have been more comfortable if the bedroom in 101 had AC but the fans that we're provided helped at night. The AC in the living room was great. The condo also has all the basics you'll need in the kitchen which we loved since it meant we could easily cook meals at home instead of going out all the time. We'd definitely stay again at either condo!

The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. We didn't use the pool, but the area looked well-kept and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly, upon check‑in, they welcomed us with a refreshing lavender‑infused towel, a reusable water bottle with refill stations throughout the property, and a cute beach tote to keep. They also offer orchids for the ladies to pin in their hair, which is a charming touch. The rooms were modern, clean, and offered plenty of storage. There are two pools, both kept at a comfortable temperature that makes for a refreshing dip. They allow guests to use the amenities while waiting for their room to be ready, which we appreciated since we arrived early. The hotel also provides free bikes for exploring the area, and there's a happy hour at the pool bar. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would happily return for another stay.

You have to have a car here to get around, not so in Kaanapali. We enjoy walking around and walking the beaches. You have to drive everywhere to do that here. We have been coming to Maui for over 40 years and enjoy relaxing, going to old and new restaurants and walking the beaches and boardwalks. First time staying here, we won't come again! Pros: Beautiful rooms with very few inconveniences. List in cons! Beautiful pool area and landscaping. Also a few cons! Downtown Kīhei and Wailea not too far my car and more beaches and restaurants to go to. Favorite restaurants: Isana, you can walk to. Beach club, nice staff, good drinks, and great coconut shrimp. Threes, in town, great staff (ask for Josh) and food. Nalu, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. 30 min walk or short drive. Great happy hour, ahi tacos the best. Monkey pod, but I like the one in Kaanapali best, better views. Salesman Dan Hunter was respectful and informative for our update, not pushy! Beaches nearby: Polo beach, great boardwalk along resorts in Wailea. Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, you can walk the wooden bridge and then the beach. You can walk the beach all along Kīhei, even across the street, it just isn't easy in some areas. Cons: Need a car! The adult pool at the resort was cloudy and dirty from the pigeon's. Never saw them cleaning the pool until we complained the third day. Then they tried to clean it better l, especially after our review and we complained again. They need to do something about the pigeons before it gets better. The other pools were pristine. You rarely see a pool attendant, no help moving chairs or umbrellas. Only the adult pool area have nice comfortable covers, about 25, the rest are very uncomfortable. Wore down crappy cabanas with dirty covers, no TV's working or refrigerators, not that I would use them, but if you have them they should be in working order. Complained to Chanel, day manager who didn't seemed too concerned. She did come down and looked but no feedback expect pool service did seem to improve, just not resolved. The grab and go is really just a small fast food restaurant, no food only drinks. Are room was great except for dirty floors from something they put on them (photo with stain from wet foot). Moldy shower walls (photo). Cabinet in front of sink has a handle I hit my head on each time I wash dishes. Washer very loud!

A special thank you to Shermila, the front desk manager. When the storm affected our plans, she was incredibly friendly, helpful, and able to accommodate us for an additional night in the same room. During what could have been a stressful situation, she made everything much easier for us. We really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Pros: The staff throughout the property were very friendly and welcoming. The resort did not feel overcrowded, which made for a relaxing stay. Our room was modern, spacious, and comfortable, with a full-size kitchen that was great to have. There are a few areas that could use improvement. Housekeeping could benefit from additional training and attention to detail, as the room cleaning was not as thorough as we would have expected. The patio furniture also appeared as though it had not been cleaned in a very long time, possibly since the property opened. Unfortunately, it was dirty enough that we did not feel comfortable sitting outside and enjoying the patio. Another disappointment was the food situation. The website indicates there is a kitchen on site, but there are actually no restaurants at the property, including by the pool, and there is no real breakfast option. There is a bar across the street with limited hours that serves bar food, as well as a grab-and-go area. We received a coupon for the grab-and-go, but the options with the coupon were extremely limited. We were only able to order a premade McMuffin-style breakfast sandwich, while the other items were not eligible with the coupon. Despite these areas for improvement, we are still giving our stay five stars because of the friendly staff and, most importantly, the way Shermila and the front desk team took care of us during a difficult situation with the storm. That level of service made a lasting impression and was very much appreciated.

I have stayed in a ocean view suite and standard king rooms. They either have balconies or patios that lead out to the pool area. I prefer the balconies but it's personal preference. One thing to note, to access the pools, there are a significant amount of steps. You can take an elevator to the Bumbeye beach bar (level 2) but you will have to walk up and down to get to the lowest level pool and to the beach. If you have mobility issues, please be aware that this is the only way to access the beach. From start to finish, our entire experience was absolutely wonderful. The hotel staff were all extremely kind and engaging, offering helpful tips and suggestions. We had nothing but positive interactions with the valet and the front desk. The staff that work at the on-site restaurants were also lovely. Our ocean view room was clean and spacious. It had all of the amenities we could hope for and the shower had wonderful water pressure. My only request would be that there was a shelf in the shower to put the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as we ended up having to put them on the floor and bending over in the shower while pregnant is not an easy task. The linens were soft and I appreciated the opportunity to earn food and beverage credit or Hilton reward points if we opted out of having our room cleaned each day. The blackout curtains in the room were also wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony each evening and listening to the live music that was performed each night down by the pool. There was ample pool space with plenty of pool chairs, both in the sun and in the shade. Access to the beach was extremely easy. While we were there, we also took part in morning yoga, access to the complementary aquatic activities, a sound bath under the full moon, and the infamous luau. I also booked a prenatal massage at the spa, which was absolutely divine. Access to the Courtesy Car to drop us off at nearby restaurants for reservations was extremely convenient. We appreciated the complementary reusable water bottles and the local snacks and beverages that were restocked in our mini bar. All in all, it was an absolute incredible stay and the next time we find ourselves in Maui, we will absolutely be returning to the Andaz.

In comparison to some other brands such as Aman, Four Seasons Maui felt below average given its price point. The resort itself felt small and a bit old. The service felt very below average and inconsistent. One employee would tell you the sun umbrellas at the pools near the bushes are not adjustable while literally 2 mins later another employee came and adjusted the sun umbrella next to me and also mine when I asked. When we went to the adult pool we were told by one employee that we needed to be on a waitlist. After 3 hours when we finally got notified that it was our turn and went back we noticed other guests just literally went and grabbed empty benches and staffs were just setting the benches up for them(no, they didn't even know there was a waitlist)... Our canoe experience at the last day of our stay got canceled due to high wind and the concierge never notified us etc. Many employees gave me the vibe that they don't really care. They just gave me fake smiles and robotic responses. Maybe Amond would take better care of us...if he is still alive... The view was very amazing. We even spotted whales many times.

What I thought were rocks were actually plastic looking boulders. This would have been fine but on the walkway to the Wailea shops there were broken boulders so you see that they are fake and the pond empty. An eyesore. The room service staff were great and took good care of keeping the room clean. However the refrigerator in the room had been turned off and had a stale smell. Having 4 TV's at home and actually had a Samsung I think I know how to troubleshoot problems. As we were getting ready to retire we turned the TV on and were directed to the promotional hotel page. We had no access to regular TV. Called the front desk for help and they asked me "do you know what is wrong?" No that is why I am calling you. Instead of going to bed I had to wait 30 minutes for help to arrive. The problem ended up being on the hotel end and the problem was fixed. The repairman dropped his toolset in my clothing drawer below the TV and left. Which I had to make a trip down to the front desk to drop off. In addition to dropping off the tools I had received a letter in the room telling me of upcoming service and they needed 45 minutes in the room. Not sure why this maintenance was not done on the front end or back end when I left? Now I am getting annoyed and the woman at the front desk said they are SEVERELY understaffed. The manager did give me a $300 credit but the damage was already done. Our room was $815 a night. The pool area was a circus, which I understand because families want that last summer trip. A great portion of the pool was closed for maintenance, including the lazy river. If you want a nice chaise lounge with an umbrella you need to get to the pool very early and stake your claim. So you are competing for your space. One of the days the towel station was out of towels. If you want a preferred area or cabana you are going to pay. There were some positives on the property but the negatives prevailed. The hotel is tired and needs to be upgraded. Especially for a Waldorf Astoria. In retrospect I should have gone down the street to the Four Seasons or the Fairmont. Even though I am a Hilton Honors member.
