Horrible! Had them do some landscaping to my front lawn that included stone borders in the Fall of 2016. Less than a year later, almost every area the mortar has cracked out. I get that eventually it will happen, but after less than a year? They also are very poor at communication. I came home one day and found a bunch of plants still in the pot in my front yard, so I figure they will start planting in a few days....not so much. The plants sat in my front yard for weeks before I called to see what the deal was. They had no idea. I also was concerned the plants were sick as they looked bad before planting. To date 6 have died. When they were planted, the plants were very oddly spaced and just thrown together. I put two and two together and realized Keane put the stone crew in charge of laying out the flower beds and these guys had no clue what they were doing. Feel like my $3k was wasted and my job was an afterthought. Took a month and a half for them to do a simple stone border and new plants in small front yard. read more

After using Keane for our spring flowers (7 flats, $250.00) we contacted them to do additional work in the fall. Though we had a minor issue with them in the spring when a drip line was damaged during flower installation, we wanted to give them a second chance. We needed (2) new trees to replace (2) young trees that were not doing well in their current locations. Parker at Keane Landscaping said that it would be no problem to transplant the existing trees. We also needed routine tree trimming and fall seasonal color. During the first week of September, (2) trees were planted, (2) trees were moved and fall color was added. While only pansies were requested, Keane had added snapdragons as well. When asked why the snapdragons were included without my prior authorization I was told that it "looked nicer". Finally, (2) months later I received a bill for over $4,300 and was immediately stunned to see charges that either I had not agreed to or I felt were excessive. I asked why it took two months for a bill and was told, "It slipped through the cracks." -$650.00 for fall color ($400.00 more than spring with same areas and flats planted) -$480.00 for irrigation repair and adjustment (was never told of an issue nor approved a repair) -$850.00 to transplant trees (no charge was mentioned in advance for this and acted like it was complimentary for purchasing two new trees) This doesn't include the $1,425 for installation of trees with bubblers and $525.00 for tree pruning. I requested to speak with Parker Keane via text message on Friday November 19th, 2016 upon receiving this bill. He responded and said he would call me on Monday, November 21st, 2016 to discuss. I never got a call or text and after 2.5 weeks I decided to contact him again. I explained that (6) months ago spring color was billed at $250.00 and for fall color I'm being charged an additional $400 when it's the same amount of flats in the same exact areas for $650.00. He first explained their prices increased and when I stated I never was told that, he then told me they planted (12) flats instead of (7) which was the reason for the increase. My flowerbeds do not accommodate that quantity and after counting what was planted I confirmed that only (7) were used. This is a huge discrepancy both on pricing for seasonal color and the amount that was actually planted in my yard. In addition, the fall color was planted too early in the season and the snapdragons never bloomed. Frankly, the flowers have never looked worse at our home. Keane agreed to replace the flowers and I told Parker we only wanted 2-3 colors of pansies. Instead of giving us advance notice and communicate what color pansies were available they showed up unannounced at our house and planted (7) colors of pansies, against my wishes. After making him aware of the quantity discrepancy, he refused to adjust the seasonal color portion of the bill. In complete frustration we have now requested all pansies to be removed by Keane, as this was the only way he agreed to remove the charge. Now we are left with no seasonal color in the middle of December. Two guys came for 2-3 hours to plant the red bud and Japanese maple tree. I was charged $850.00 of labor to move the two baby trees, yet simultaneously face a bill for $1,425.00 for tree installation. Because trees were being moved, only 2 holes needed to be dug, yet with these huge charges one would think much more work was performed than was actually the case. $850 to move 2 baby trees equates to almost $425.00 an hour for the 2-3 hours it took for them to move the two trees. I'm not aware of any landscaping service charging $425/hr to move two trees. Finally, the $480.00 charge for irrigation repairs and adjustments was never mentioned nor discussed. This item just simply appeared on my bill and I wasn't aware of any work done to my irrigation system. I did not agree to this, was provided no evidence of any issue and will not pay it. Additionally, we also had them do a bid for $40,000 for a backyard renovation and were planning on moving forward in the spring 2017. After all of these issues, we will definitely not be moving forward. They lost a $40,000 sale over the lack of communication, transparency, excessively and incorrect charging and honestly just bad service and work. Clearly to Keane the customer is always wrong. I have never experienced such an excessive bill and been provided zero communication or warning about additional services or charges. Many of these charges seem excessive, with little correlation to the work performed. There was no communication or transparency on pricing with Keane Landscaping. read more

I hired Keane Landscaping to install a French drainage system in my front yard. They charge a premium price, but they take every quick, cheap shortcut in workmanship they can. If you hire them, be sure to have a member of your family watch the crew every minute. I was told by the person who gave me my estimate (I presume that he was the owner) that the rainwater would go down the downspouts directly into the ground. On one side of my yard they jerry-rigged a solution that would have lasted a month at most. On the other side, rather than going into the ground, they knocked a hole in the low brick wall around the planting bed that goes across the front of my house and ran the drain above ground over a 12-inch wide sidewalk and then into the ground--all to avoid the small effort of hiding the pipe by digging under the narrow sidewalk. They did not consult me before ruining my wall, and they left an unsightly drain pipe exposed to mowers and edgers. I wish I could post a photo of their result. read more

We called Keane to come out and give us an estimate for some landscaping and tree trimming. So discussing the tree trimming with the rep, we were assured their tree crews were experts, and would selectively trim the tree properly, thin the crown, and remove any dead branches. We were quoted $300 to trim, and $100 for a "deep root fertilization". I figured the trimming price was fair for an expert crew to do as described, and figured I'd go ahead with the fertilizer too. Oh, that was described as fertilizer pellets placed deep in the roots about 4 to 6 feet out, all around the tree. Signed the contract and asked that they call to schedule, as I wanted to be present. No problem we were told. A week later, my wife gets home first, calls me and asks if I scheduled the pruning. I said no, she said they pruned it and it looks terrible. I get home, and agree. It looks like they hired a couple of drunks and gave them a ladder and chain saw and let them loose. First of all there was no selective trimming, it looks like they took the ladder, and just lopped off every branch they could reach, and left. They did nothing above where they could reach, and left all the dead branches above intact. Where they did cut, they were obviously in a hurry and careless. Almost every branch they cut there is deep bark wounds where they flailed the chainsaw and hit the tree. Lots and lots af scrapes and chatters. Plus there are several spots with bigger branches where it is obvious the cut down from the top, and the branch broke loose and tore large strips of bark from the surrounding area. They obviously did not support the branch to ensure a clean cut. Seriously, I could have done what they did, and saved $400. Oh, and there were two shallow scrapes in the ground maybe 2 feet from the trunk...I was told this was the "deep root fertilization".....$100 for that. I called my rep and told him I was not happy, he met me two days later to take a look. He said it was fine, perfect. He agreed about the scrapes and tears, and said "he would mention it to the crew". It was obvious he wasn't going to work with me with this crap job. I placed a polite note on the invoice. Apparently they don't care about that either, as we never received a call. But they cashed the check post haste.... A total waste of money. Conversely, maybe I can get a ladder and a chain saws and run around making $400 for a half hour of work butchering trees. That's right, my neighbor said they were here a whole half hour. I could do a better job than they did. Don't ever waste money having them trim your trees. Very disappointing. read more

I would give less than 5 stars! Worst most frustrating company. Despite all efforts they clearly took advantage of us. Charging us for a service that we never received. Never treated our yard until I called and complained about the weeds. Weeds that we did not have the year before. That was the only treatment they did to our yard for over a year. Yet they charged us for the service. When I asked for a refund - never heard back! They take photos, even send a supervisor out promising to get it right. They leave and that is the last you see or hear from them. They NEVER Weeded my flower beds unless I call and asked them to. Never trimmed bushes, prune my small crepe myrtles. I had another company come out to do this for us because Keane would not. They agreed that was in my contract - the service they promised to provide. No such luck! They mowed so fast that they left large overgrown strips of grass behind. I have had to call them more than once asking the crew to return and finish mowing. I have had to hire a separate service to mow and manage my flower beds literally behind them. Of course paying for both companies - keane that said they would manage my yard, and the other that actually did the work. They NEVER forgot to bill me! I was on auto pay so that service seemed to work beautifully! I have fired them and will not be recommending them to ANYONE. Update: Much to my surprise I recently got a call from Keane Landscape to discuss plans for my lawn. . He goes on to say that one of their employees had met with me to discuss new ideas to our landscape. When I told him I had not met with anyone - he asks my name. I politely reminded him that he called me and that I fired this company months ago and am still waiting for the promised repair/replacement of items damaged by their employees, and the "treatment" that I PAID for and NEVER received. I would highly recommend Keane Landscaping. Our landscaping was 23 years old, original with the house, Parker Keane designed new beds/plants/bushes that complimented our architecture. The beds are beautiful and it's raised the value of our home. Lupe, the foreman on the job was a true landscape artist placing bushes and rocks beautifully. Parker was very responsive to every text I sent, returning a message immediately. We received one other offer but Keane was able to beat their price. The best thing Keane does is to put resources on the job. We contracted them to regrade part of our property, resod our yard, and to create a plan for plantings. Once we agreed on the scope of the work and pricing they started the work and sent a crew of at least 10. They got the work done on time with quality results. The few issues that cropped up were resolved promptly. They are not cheap, but I believe not the highest prices either. We love the result! read more

Last September paid over $8k for plants around our new pool in our new-build home. We wanted low maintenance plants but their suggestions mostly died over winter. In total contrast to the plants which the developer put in the front of our home - all of which are fine with no maintenance, We gave them the opportunity to put it right but they didn't want to know. Don't use this company if you have a choice - we really regret using them and will now have to use someone else to get the job done correctly. read more

I question the integrity of this company. They employ workers that are not insured and their trucks are not insured. On 10/21/15 while in Plano, Tx, their driver side swiped my car with the long trailer. He continued driving until I chased him down. He didn't "speak English" so it was "difficult" to communicate with him, although when I asked certain questions he was able to "answer" with some difficulty. He would not give me the insurance information. He kept saying he needed to call his boss. When the Plano Police came up, the officer asked what happened, and by then it became increasingly "difficult" to communicate. The officer asked me what happened and I told him. I also called the company phone number which is not the one listed here, but listed on the truck and talked to Leah Nelson who assured me that they were insured. However, when the officer ran the plates, he told me that the company did not have insurance on the vehicle. The driver could not produce insurance papers, he could not produce a driver's license, valid or otherwise. In other words, I am a tax paying, forced to have vehicle insurance citizen, yet this company allows people who "can't speak English", have no driver's license or insurance to operate heavy equipment. Leah Nelson and Keane Landscaping refuse to give me the company insurance information so that I can file a claim and let the insurance companies work it out. This company is not honest. She told me that she would email the information, but she has not. I wouldn't use this company because they are not honest. They employ people who are dangerously operating heavy equipment, who have no insurance or driver's license. They cannot be trusted. read more

We have received extremely poor service and an inferior product from Keane Landscaping, Inc. and we are very dissatisfied with this company. We hired them to lay sod on part of our front lawn. The sod we were given was mostly dead. After 4 weeks of daily watering, (we had an variance from the city of Richardson to water every day for 30 days) more than half of the sod didn't grow. I called Keane Landscaping and Michael, the office manager from the company, came to the house and said that the small print said that they were not responsible for the sod. I knew that, but one does not expect HALF of the sod to be dead! A few pieces perhaps, but not half the lawn. Also, the type of sod, Zoysia, was the wrong type of grass for a sunny area with no shade. Michael said he didn't know why it was planted! I sent pictures and e-mails to Kevin Keane, President, and Parker Keane, vice-president, but neither one had the courtesy to answer my e-mail. So much for customer service from a "family-ownerd" company! With so many companies to choose from, we recommend that no one use Keane Landscaping. You certainly will not get value for your money or honest, caring customer service!! read more

I finally let Keane Landscaping go after several calls to complain about the service. Bush trimming, leaf blowing and irrigation regulating was supposed to be part of the regular service. The bushes were never trimmed in the 4 month period that they were supposed to take care of the yard and I had to call several times about other things that were not being taken care of properly. The crews would blow my vines loose from my walls, with the leaf blowers, and my gas lanterns were blown out a couple of times too. Just sloppy, unsupervised work. Some of my landscaping died as a result of lack of supervision. read more

You can for sure tell which posts are from the company and which ones are from actual customers who have experienced their broken promises and overpriced services....that is if they even show up as they say that that they will. I have never seen such a crappy $4500 install in all my life. The plants planted were so small that they shouldn't of even come out of the nursery yet. Promises of full lush landscaping....turned out to be more ground than anything else. I priced the same set of flowers at a well known retail plant center not even our wholesale provider and at retail price I could have purchased the same plants for under $200. It took them 3 hours to do the entire job including clean up. We spent another $600 on 50 flats of flowers after they finished since there was absolutely no color to be seen with the very inmature flowers that they planted. This place is a joke. One of the worst experience of my life. Had to hire an attorney to let them know i was serious! They planted plants that could not tolerate heat in the west sun and plants that needed sun in total shade. All the grass they planted died and they had to replant it along with several plants. My patio was a nightmare. Took out my old and poured a new one. The stain peeled off not 1 but 2 times. Hired an attorney. They came back out sanded all the stain off and stained for a 3rd time, then sealed it too soon and it has white clouds all over it. They also added $1,000 to my contract which i did not approve nor was called to approve the cost for a flowerbed Keven Keene forgot to draw into his original sketch. $20K later I am still an unhappy customer and would NEVER refer them to anyone. read more

NEVER use this service, they did not let us know what day they were coming so our car was under the tree. While cutting down the tree it landed on our car. They did not even leave us a note stating they damaged our vehicle. We had to find the damage ourselves. Now they want 3 estimates before they will pay for fixing a car. This did not even need to happen if they had just communicated with us. They caused the damage and now they want us to waste our time to get extra estimates so they can save money. We did give them a reputable estimate but that was not good enough for them on damage they caused needlessly. Kevin his a bad business man and does not know how to handle people. Funny enough, our experience is exactly like another review on here. We bought our home, which Keane had managed previously. After meeting with Kevin he quoted us $500/month for the weekly service. Thankfully, the previous owner left us a book with all the names, numbers and details of the service providers they used, so we knew he had only charged them $400/month. We used this information to negotiate the same rate and were fairly happy with the service for about six months. Once spring time rolled around, we wanted to add a few flowers, etc. and began receiving outrageous quotes (four to five times more than anyone else) totaling over $100,000 in just a few months. My fiancé had numerous conversations with Kevin about the inflated prices and it seemed like he found it to be comical. He would say things like, "Oh, come on, just pay it, you have the money, etc." We were outraged to say the least. He would tell us stories about how he charged similar clients who lived down the street more than what he was quoting us for the same thing and they didn't seem to mind. It was ridiculous. The last straw broke when we asked to have two rose bushes replaced in our backyard and received a quote for $27,000. Needless to say, we won't be using or recommending Keane Landscaping for anything. read more

I am so disappointed in their lack of knowledge regarding landscape and flowering plants, which I in good faith spent a lot of money on. Pansies that don't bloom, bushes that are dying, and a lawn that has huge dead spots in the front. They are paid for a full months service, and do not show up for weeks at a time. Give me a call and I will show you what kind of service you can expect if you should hire these folks. My heart was broken after, what was to me, a tremendous amount of money spent. The only good thing I can say about this company, Is that they have a well trained sales staff, but a horrible disregard of care of their clients. I am currently looking for a new company? Box 940486 Plano, TX 75094-0486 Dear Mr. Keane, This letter is to outline the events that transpired that required me to contact you and your company for resolution. 1. On 5/4/2015, I received an estimate from Keane Landscaping for a drainage system that would tie in all catch basins/downspouts and exit in the yard. (See attachment of Contract Proposal 1.) 2. Keane Landscaping completed the drainage system some time around May 6, 2015. I assumed the completion was as per the Contract Proposal. 3. On or around April 24, 2016, I got water inside my house from the area where the drainage system was installed, causing wood flooring inside my house to be damaged and separate. 4. I called Keane Landscaping to report that my drainage was not exiting water from the area where the drainage system was installed. On April 26, 2016, Alex with Keane Landscaping visited my house, reviewed the situation and provided an estimate to "blowout all drains". (See attachment of Contract Proposal 2.) 5. On May 5, 2016, workers from Keane Landscaping arrived to blowout drains. After several attempts to get water to exit out to the yard, they discovered that my drains were not connected to the yard extension. 6. I called Alex to report their finding and have it corrected. On May 17, 2016 Keane Landscaping corrected the fraudulently installed drainage system. I am requesting that Keane Landscaping pay for the repair of my wood flooring that was damaged by the failure to install my drainage system per the Contract Proposal of May 5, 2015. read more

We called Keane and several others for a bid for tree trimming and re-do of beds and sidewalk - received Keane's but called and e-mailed several times to discuss a tree trimming plan for our big trees that we love and have nurtured for a few decades - PRIOR to any work being done. My husband and I both confirmed that prior to any work being done we must discuss a plan - they could not trim our beautiful trees without our input on our desires and the outcome. Without any notice or prior approval I happened to come home from work only to have a Keane tree trimming crew ascend on our lawn and start whacking away - no knock at the door, NO idea they were coming - and they did not have approval to come. It was difficult to communicate with them and I tired to call our Keane rep three times while they were slashing branches in our yard unannounced. I got them to stop and leave - only to receive a $400 bill for services that were not approved or rendered. We have called and e-mailed to resolve this matter too many times - do not use them - way too unprofessional - will not resolve matters and do not listen, they do not personally care. I would not recommend them at all - there are many other better choices. read more

Frustrating sums up my experience!! I was promised weed preventer before planting shrubs, did not happen in front or back and this was for new landscaping! Which means I am now battling weeds. During weekly lawn maintenance they dug up a sick Japanese Maple that THEY DIDN'T PLANT, which prevented me from using the warranty with the company I bought it from. I noticed immediately and asked them to bring it back...I was told they had shredded it. My weekly lawn maintenance was supposed to be completed every Friday, I needed the exact same day every week so I could unlock gates and put dogs away. NOT ONCE did they do it correctly. My sprinkler was BRAND NEW, they adjusted it after new landscape install, however some plants were yellowing and dying. I called them to look at it. They said they would charge $95 an hour for the repair....which frustrated me, but I agreed to pay to keep peace. I got a bill for ovr $800 PLUS parts...It was a NEW system and I know 100% they were not at the house for 7+ hours. I'd be careful, this company at one time had a STELLAR reputation, something has changed and not for the better. We utilized Keane for Landscaping when we put our pool in, as well as, weekly service. I do NOT recommend them. We decided to use zoysia due to the lagoon style pool. Zoysia is very expensive but we were insured that it would turn out beautiful. It was the opposite. They prepared the yard and laid the sod but it was so bumpy that you would trip walking across it, most of the sod did not take and died. They messed up our sprinkler system, the plants around the pool died in three months, the rocks that surrounded the beds were thrown in place and looked horrible. He plumbed a outdoor shower that was not done correctly nor was the drain. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. They came out to attempt to fix it once, as I watched a bunch of men standing around making more of a mess than never saw them again. I did however get a bill. It was a small bill but I was so upset I didn't pay it(FYI the bill was less than one grocery run, it was the point). They got a lawyer which I called back three times with no answer or call back. Then MERRY CHRISTMAS they sued. We had to get our Zoysia redone, all plants redone and new sprinklers. So NO I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. Run away from this company. read more
