My 1st experience with Keane was summer of 2021 (after the big freeze in Feb). I was looking for a landscaping company to replace my frozen landscaping. I called and left a message on their machine. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AT ALL. They missed out on a potential several $k project. My 2nd experience: Dec 2022, I was looking for a contractor to clean-up the fallen leaves in our yard, so I called Keane. First off, calling their number yields about a 33% chance of being answered by a human. Secondly, when you do reach a human, the answerer really can't help you but instead says they will forward your information to a project manager (PM) who will call you "today or tomorrow". FOUR DAYS LATER, PM Regan calls, I explain what I want, that my property is x-by-y feet in size and what's the lead time. Instead of giving me a fixed price and a schedule, Regan says he needs to come out, see the job and prepare a quote. Okay, I think, a good PM wants to see the entire scope of work before quoting; however... this is a leaf clean-up, not a construction project. Regan arrives, walks around the property, sits in his truck for 5 minutes and comes back to show me the quote. The quote is chocked full of options and very big numbers (for a leaf clean-up?). I tell Regan I'd review the quote and call him back the next day. After reviewing, I see that Regan has either missed the point or chosen to go with the oversell approach. Regan quoted me an ANNUAL CONTRACT for a "Complete Property Cleanup" that includes the leaf clean-up AND OTHER UNWANTED nor ASKED-FOR costly services like fertilize and herbicide! I call Regan the next day and told him I just want the leaves cleaned-up, one time, and nothing else. "Ooooh" says Regan, "well that will be about half the price." DUH! He says he'll email me an updated contract the next day. I NEVER HEARD FROM KEANE AGAIN! That was 2 weeks ago. I don't know what Keane's business model is, but I don't have to, because I'll never call those folks again. There are too many other fine straight-up contractors out there than to deal with the arrogance, ignorance and lack of customer service Keane Landscaping represents. read more

Overall, job performed was satisfactory. Jason initially came out but never returned though said several times he was coming. Sod looks sickly (which is concerning) but Angel (the PM) assured me it would take root and green up and added the sod was guaranteed. Jason nor Angel has ever heard of astilbes (astounding for a landscape company) so I just was not provided them as a result though they were what I ordered and was delivered non-flowering plants they did not even know the name of in their place. Crew failed to show up when expected - more than once - nor did they follow instructions on plant placement requested (the order). I requested irrigation guy to return to add riser to sprinkler spigot but Angel just adjusted the head...well, water hits what I wanted but now misses what it did cover. He just wanted my check and be done with the job. Bottom line, my front yard looks a zillion times better than it did before I hired Keane Landscaping. Will I use them again? Perhaps. read more

Possibly the worst landscaping company I have ever seen. While in previous years Keane landscaping had done well, clearly the business management has gone down hill. The workers are totally unsupervised and some of the laziest people I've ever seen take care of the lawn. Some weeks they dont even show up and when you call to ask about it, management claims they showed up or that they will send them back over and then 3 weeks goes by and you've seen nobody but continue to get billed. on 3 separate occasions now they have shown up and without care, thrown fertilizer all over the pool deck and in the pool, as a result the entire pool deck and pool itself is stained with rust stains from the iron in the fertilizer. We've attempted to have them rectify the issue but they continue to not show up and propose half ass solutions to thousands of dollars in pool deck and pool damage due to shoddy work and sheer laziness. If you are looking for the biggest waste of money and your time and mental energy just to have thousands of dollars of damage done to your backyard, this is the place! Look no further. read more

I was very eager to have my front beds cleaned up and have some landscaping replaced. In addition, I wanted two flagstone walkways put in. After paying a substantial amount, I am completely underwhelmed and disappointed. After two emails and assurance from Alex that Angel would get back with me, I have heard nothing! While I understand they are busy, this is unacceptable. In addition, some of the plants they planted look almost dead. I'm not sure if my job was too small and they came in did what they could in a short period of time, but it looks bad. After filling out their online form, even WALKING down the street to talk to their company working on another yard, and several calls and emails...they FINALLY came out. We walked around the house discussed exactly what we wanted done and type of plants we wanted and NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. We texted a few times with the guy that said he would "get back to us with a quote" but he never did. Not even a curtesy "thanks but no thanks...here are some other helpful landscapers" 1 out of 5... would not recommend to a friend. Two years ago when I hired Keane to clear brush from our property prior to building, I had a bad experience. They were disorganized, they didn't come out when they committed to (without communication as to why they didn't complete the work when agreed upon). When I called to cancel all together magically I got a call that a crew was coming put that day! The next day when I visited the property they were there completing the job even though I was told they would be there the day before. I also found out later their cost was much higher too. I didn't ever want to interact with them again. Since then, we have two frustrating encounters with this company. First, we moved into the property the brush was cleared from and they have tried to solicit our business at our house which is against our gated community rules. Then, today was the most disrespectful and unprofessional experience we have had with them thus far. One of their crews tried to use a porta potty at the house under construction across the street from us. When my husband asked them not to use it they were rude and argued with him saying it's a public bathroom. IT IS NOT A PUBLIC BATHROOM. It is private property and you are trespassing. When I called the Keane company to discuss this, the receptionist tried to argue that it wasn't my property. No it's not, but it's my neighborhood!!! The owners of that property cannot call because their house is under construction and the house is not completed therefore they do not live in it!!! It is inexcusable to trespass and then to defend unprofessional, argumentative and rude actions! It shows how unethical this company is. Save yourself some time and look elsewhere. read more

Kevin Keane came out to our residence to give a quote & before I could put our dog SAL up, I see Mr. Keane playing w/ our pup like they were long lost friends. Our dog SAL does NOT do that for anyone & very protective of what we call SAL's Kingdom. Mr. Keane was very friendly, more than knowledgable & most importantly so passionate about landscaping & design and you feel that immediately. We agreed on our estimate & of course there are always changes however we were informed on each & every change or upgrade or they would not proceed w/ work unless authorized. This is Texas & landscaping changes due to weather, soil & even direction your home faces! Their crews were uniformed, polite & very meticulous. They showed up early & left late. Cleaned as they worked & there was always a foreman on site or management walking the grounds... Again refreshing! At the end of our journey we expected a walk through w/ Mr. Keane & he did not show but instead sent his VP Parker Keane out for the walk through & if at all possible had more passion for landscaping than his Dad! Our pup, Sal, enjoyed the presence of Parker but as crazy as it sounds, missed Kevin immensely. We are more than happy w/ our landscape vision & cannot thank Keane & his organization enough. Occasionally we are out front & one of their logo'd trucks will be driving by and ask how we like our 'vision' and if anything needs to be explained or tweaked! What customer service. We needed our back yard graded, a drain installed, root barrier, and new sod. Keane came out, gave a quote for just the grading, and then we found out that they could do it all! From start to finish, they were professional, prompt, and did great work. Their workers are diligent, kind, and clearly love what they do, and it shows. I would happily recommend them to anyone that needs anything done for their yard. They explained what was going to be done, answered any questions we had, and were attentive to make sure any damage that was done to any existing landscaping was repaired. read more

I do not recommend this company for residential jobs. They came out to give us a quote. We accepted the quote and spent the next 5 weeks trying to get them to come to our house to perform the job. Once they finally scheduled the job, he rescheduled it 6 more times. They did not tell us in advance that his crew would not be coming, instead we rearranged our schedule each time and they just did not show up. They finally came out without finishing the the work without any explanation. I had to call another company to finish the work. If you are a residential client, they will just keep pushing you back in order to give their commercial client priority. read more

When we bought our home Keane was already handling the landscaping so we thought we'd continue the service. The sales guy who came out to re-evaluate the services they would provide quoted us almost $100 more a month than we were already paying via the previous owner! When my husband confronted him, he acted like he'd do us a favor by charging us the same cost. It was $351/month year-round!!!! We figured with such a big lot (about 1acre) that was common, but we quickly learned it was not. At the beginning they came every week and did a really good job, but a couple months in there were weeks they didn't show with no explanation given. They stopped handling the weeds around our pool and in the flower beds, they started simply blowing leaves around our yard vs. raking them and removing them a.k.a "blow and go" job. They also stopped trimming shrubs back. I had to go out, while they were here, a handful of times and point out the weeds and the shrubs growing over the sidewalk and patio, they would handle them only when I pointed it out. Each time we'd have Keane come out to give us an estimate on additional job (seasonal trim back of rose bushes or trees, possible landscape enhancements, etc) their prices would be three, sometimes four times more than other companies we'd talk to. As we started asking around we found most gardeners charge different costs for different season, or charge the same all year around but have a set schedule for each season, they also have a set day of the week they come and many contact you when they are arriving on site, or leaving so there is accountability. The pros: they are easy to get a hold of, come out for estimated when they say they will, have great customer service and offer the ability to pay online. The cons: they charge more than most other yard/landscape companies, there is little to no accountability, their work isn't always up to par. read more

My windshield was cracked from a spray of rocks that flew off of one of their trailers while I was traveling in GB toll rd in Plano. I contacted their office and talked to one of their reps who told me they would pay for the damage, but after 2 months they did not. I talked to the windshield company they referred me to but they did not have an account. After awhile I gave up and I am truly disappointed. Parker Keane designed a great plan using all native, low maintenance plants and shrubs and his crew finished it off with a high quality mulch. Keane landscaping damaged my property while working on my neighbors fence. We agreed that they would fix it on Saturday at 12:30pm. Saturday came, I waited for more than 30 minutes and then told them I couldn't wait any longer. Kevin, the owner, then agreed that his men would come at 12:30 on Monday to clean it up. They showed up at 2:53pm. By that time, I had already texted Kevin that I wasn't waiting around anymore and I would pay someone to do it and give him the bill. His guys showed up while I was working and I told them that I couldn't babysit them while they cleaned up. I'm not interested in having strangers around my home unsupervised. Kevin took great offense to this and said that it was my fault that it wasn't cleaned up. That I had plenty of opportunities to have it done. I simply did not have the time to wait around and not be working to see if his employees would show up. Kevin then decided that he no longer wanted to do anything about it and that we were to stop texting. The only other option for me was to meet in person to work this out if he wasn't willing to do it over the phone. Kevin then THREATENED ME. It is shocking how volatile and possibly violent Kevin Keane was. I hope that prospective customers understand that if something doesn't go right, they might be dealing with someone who wants to resort to violence to solve your issue. Poor service, lack of communication. Phone calls took about a week to get a return call. Mowing was average. Any other requests beyond mowing were ignored or done poorly. Received two invoices for work that was requested but never actually performed. Multiple billing errors. Changed monthly service rates without notifying me or getting my approval to bill more. Once ran my credit card after I specifically told them they were not authorized to run the credit card. Comedy of errors with this company. Cancelled service after 3-4 months of incompetence. We thought we would get a little better service by paying a little more than the average guy working out of his truck, but this was a miserable experience. I spent more time putting things back where they belonged and complaining to their office about erroneous invoices than it would take to mow the lawn myself. Suggest trying anyone else but this company. When I called to finally cancel, the lady didn't seem surprised or bothered by my cancellation. Must be pretty standard with this bunch. read more

horrible job! contracted with keane last march for a very large job including pouring a new patio & walkway & extensive landscaping in both front & back. almost every plant died which they refused to replace. the grading on the patio & walkway was terrible causing water to pool everywhere. in addition there was almost no mortar underneath the pavers. the grout immediately cracked & discolored so they used polymeric sand which washed completely out 2 more times. my pavers were covered with about an inch of sand at this point & the edges of the pavers were stained with a white residue. i had three independent contractors assess the situation, all of whom said that the pavers should be taken up & laid correctly. in addition they stated that the stones were too far apart to expect the sand to dry & hold the patio together. at this point keane became unresponsive, rude & told me "to quit texting" them. i had paid them in full immediately after the work was done the first time because i had no reason to believe that within a few days it would all start falling apart. to add insult to injury there was a tremendous amount of collateral damage. i never heard from them again. they definitely did not stand by their work which was warrantied per the contract. read more

Parker Keane listened to my needs and helped with a complete re-design of my backyard set-up. Keane Landscaping offered the most competitive rates and completed the work in a timely manner. They put in new sod, flowers, trees, and installed a patio area next to my pool. The design estimate and final cost were a spot on match. My backyard has experienced a serious upgrade and will be a great hangout spot throughout the summer for my family. We continue to use Keane Landscaping for tree trimming and power-washing services every couple of months. So, 6 months after replacing two flower beds with 12 new shrubs and new soil?, I have now had to replace 4 of the shrubs due to very poor bottom soil being used. The bottom soil that Keane used had the consistency of a hardened clay. The 4 shrubs never grew, they just eventually died out. Today, I had to rework the beds, adding in lots of mulch for aeration and replaced the 4 shrubs myself. As a well established company, I expect better work than this. I certainly will not use Keane in the future, nor refer them to anyone. read more

Just had our 29 year old garden re-done. After 29 years our Red Oaks was not allowing our grass to grow...so we had some very large bare spots. Keane did a wonderful job incorporating the trees within our new flower beds. . Their workers were very nice and best of all very clean workers. Nothing was left for my husband and I had to do. I had Keane redo my front landscape and restain the fence. I was shown the fence stain bill by the subcontractor they used and Keane took a 100 pct markup ($1000). That was my fault for not getting a competitive bid. My bigger issue is a very unprofessional landscape job which included cramming too many plants in an area just so they could up the bill. It looks very bad and after I called them to complain, they tried to sell me more things like mulch and tree trimming. I emailed the owner with no response. I would NEVER use them again. I recommend using one of the nurseries that grows their own plants. It appears my plants were purchased at Lowes. read more

I asked for them to do a leaf clean out (on 2 acres) so I could list my home 5 days later. That's where the problem started - letting them know I was in a hard spot. They quoted us $1,800+ for the clean out. Expensive, but I didn't have any other options as no other company could be there before my home had to be listed. I figured $1,800/$20 per man hour. So basically that's 10 guys each working a full day. That seemed reasonable for the work that had to be done because they said every leaf and branch in the yard would be removed. Over 2 acres, that would have taken me forever and I had 5 days to list. But they assured me that their crew was "the hardest working Mexicans you've ever seen." Positives They had a huge crew to do the work (about 6 or 7 guys w blowers, tarps, and a dump truck) They showed up two days early (not sure of this is a positive or not, but for me it was) Negatives They only worked about 25 man hours (which translates to about $70/hr) The workers told me they didn't speak English when I was asking them why they were leaving and wouldn't wait for me to go inside to get my wife who speaks Spanish (Keane said his foreman who was there has been speaking English for 20 years) They drove their dump truck through my yard because they couldn't wait for me to move my trailer out of the way (I was moving) causing more damage than the work they completed They left big piles of leaves in the corners of my fence They blew so many leaves into my pool that it turned dark green the very next day and clogged the baskets which caused one of my pumps to malfunction (14 month old pump) They used their trimmers to cut my bushes next to the pool down to nothing so I had to pull them out because they could no longer grow They never finished the work If Keane pays their leaf blowers half as much as he charged me ($70/hr), perhaps I need to get a second job as a leaf blower. All in all, I guess I would have been happy to pay the $70/hr if the work was done as they told me it would be done and they didn't drive through my yard w a dump truck. I withheld payment thinking I was going to be able to take some time to talk to Kevin the following week. We had a baby right before this and we moved right after. We played phone tag for about a month before we were finally able to connect and as a business owner myself, I understand that a month is too long to rectify the situation so I reamed him out for the aforementioned negatives, but I told him I'd send him full payment the next day. A month later, he calls me upset that he hadn't received payment. I had to call my bank and get a copy of the canceled check to prove I had paid him. They credited my payment to someone else because the check was in my wife's name (same last name) instead of Joe. That should pretty much tell you the organization of this company. I will never call Keane for any help again and I will tell everyone that asks that they are a HUGE ripoff. They are a successful business who do a lot of work in the area and I know that they have done some good work for people because you don't normally become a big company if you always suck at your job. But for me, they completely failed in nearly every way. read more

The service started off ok, but then quickly went downhill! We didn't even use them for a full year due to a deteriorating lawn. My yard looked worse 10 months after they started. They trampled flowers, cut down 3 year old tree saplings, edged so low that it killed our grass, broke yard decorations, and didn't even mow our back yard on 6 different occasions. When I tried to cancel my agreement they offered NO apologies for their terrible service, never once tried to make it right, but instead they tried to hold me to a contract I never signed! Would not recommend! Did work without giving a current price, based off quote done yrs ago that I ask for due to losing. Came a day early without knocking or calling or texting to notify and cut Tree without covering pool, without agreement on price or service after asking for a price. Came home to pool pump sucking and not working because pump wasn't turned off and pool wasn't covered. Pool full of leaves wood chips and large branches. After notifying owner his explanation was they usually clean up really good then sent his pool guy over unannounced trying to get in my locked gate after I got it cleaned 2 days later to say there is nothing wrong( um because we spend hours cleaning it 2 days ago) and at that time I was asked to pay $1300 for 50ft Bradford pear removal, stump still there cause we never talked about that option. Then owner bragged about how many customers he has and how no one has complained and I am wrong. Stating the debris won't ruin a filter/pump and how his crew could have never left a mess!
