Such a solid local deli spot in Kearny Mesa. The prices are great, the people are super nice, and it really has that classic mom-and-pop feel that makes you want to keep coming back. They also serve coffee (though I didn't try it this time), and I was happy to see they had a few vegetarian sandwich options. I got the #18 veggie sandwich and my husband got #9 Reuben and they were both bomb. They can definitely get busy and seem to get a lot of phone orders, which honestly says a lot about how popular they are with locals. I've been to Kearny Mesa Deli a handful of times over the past couple of years. Definitely a consistent deli in terms of quality and service. It's no-frills and not fancy at all, but there's a reason their phone is always ringing off the hook at lunchtime. They do what they do well, and they're dependable. The pulled pork sandwich comes with a layer of coleslaw and you get American BBQ vibes from it. It's really quite tasty. The egg salad sandwich is also pretty good--very good texture and consistency, and you can tell it's made fresh daily. The coffee is also pretty good. A brand called Aperture provides the beans here, and the cold brew is especially yummy. Prices aren't too high either, and parking is usually not bad. Cute little deli! Looks like it's a mom & pop shop. I was greeted & helped right away. I ordered a ham, egg, & cheese breakfast sandwich but I added avocado & sprouts. Next time I think I'll ask for pesto just to give it a little flavor because otherwise it's a simple straight forward breakfast sandwich. $8.10 but probably cause of the extra avo & sprouts. Still a very good price I'd you think about it. What I also love is that their sandwiches aren't greasy at all, the greens tasted fresh, & the portions are great! I'll definitely be back! I was searching for a place close by that was serving bagel sandwiches and this place popped up as #1. I can see why after going and ordering a Sunrise Sandwich. It's a small cafe shop with lots of drinks, snacks and food options. The lady who took my order was very sweet and patient. Service was quick! I received my order in less than 5 minutes. When I have to work this area, this is my go-to place for coffee. It is in an industrial area of Kearny Mesa. It is tiny inside, but there are places to sit outside. It is part coffee shop and part convenience store because there are several fridges full of drinks and snack to takeaway. Also, this deli has a menu of breakfast and lunch items they can make. I usually only come here in the morning so I can imagine the lunch rush they may get. When I come in the mornings, only one sweet lady is working. She isn't too talkative, but is very polite. Anyways, back to the most important meal called coffee. I usually get the iced latte here because I noticed that the espresso the deli uses is quite robust. One day, I will try the Einspanner coffee. Walked in and this deli was simple and clean, who doesn't love a clean place to eat . I was looking for a breakfast sandwich or something quick to eat before heading to work. I actually stopped here thinking it was an Aperture coffee cafe since that what I found on Yelp for coffee, so I was confused when I walked in and realized it was a little deli shop. Having discovered that it was a deli shop, my fiancé couldn't resist ordering the sandwich of the day, despite having just eaten breakfast about an hour before. The sandwich of the day, which I believe was on a Tuesday, was a Philly cheesesteak. It was delicious! Great amount of meat, not much of onion or bell peppers but I didn't mind that since the sandwich had more meat to veggie ratio. We ordered some coffee as that was our main reason for stopping by. I just got a hot caramel macchiato like I typically order, which was just sweet enough to my liking. My fiancé got the cafe Saigon, which I believed contained condensed milk in the drink if I recall correctly. The cafe Saigon was really good, would have traded drinks if I could. Overall, a nice deli with plenty of snack, drinks, and some food options to pick and go, but it actually did feel more like a cafe. There were customers who were just working on their laptops with a coffee. Although a small space inside, the ambiance was chill and comfy like your normal coffee spot.
