Visited this small halal Pakistani spot on W Charleston, tucked inside a simple little complex. The place has an old-fashioned, desi vibe -- you can even see straight into the kitchen, which adds to the homely feel. When we walked in, 2-3 families were already dining, which was nice since we weren't the only ones sitting in. You place your order at the counter and can keep the tab open in case you want to add more dishes later. We ordered garlic naan, chicken kadai, beef nihari, and samosa chaat. It did take a while for the food to come out since everything is made fresh and there were other families ahead of us. We were actually the last ones to be served, but the staff were so kind and offered us a complimentary dessert for the wait -- really appreciated the gesture! The food itself was a mix of hits and misses. The garlic naan and chicken kadai were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The beef nihari was disappointing, though -- very bland and lacking salt. The samosa chaat also fell short and felt like it was missing several key elements. They were out of chicken biryani for the day, which was a bummer. But the highlight of the entire dinner? The kheer! Truly worth coming back for. First I have to say this was an UberEats order so I don't have any experience with the folks there. They were quick and aren't far from us which were all a plus. The naan was very good. However, the chicken tikka masala was not like any others I've had. The dish was chunks of chicken in a spicy garlic oil, not a sauce as I'm used to seeing with this dish. Perhaps this is a particular method? But I can't eat overly oily foods or I get sick - and UberEats doesn't offer refunds for things like this. Selling this for $15ish without rice, so having to add on another $5 for rice was really disappointing overall. So spent about $20+ for some good naan and another $10 at McDonalds (our kitchen is being renovated and we were so hungry, so we wanted something quick). I also found it odd that we couldn't choose a spice level. Unfortunately the default spice level was too high for my wife so she couldn't enjoy it either. Smelled good though :/ read more

This might be one of the best meals I've had in a long, long time!! Everything was extremely fresh. We started with the Shirazi salad. Ridiculously fresh with great flavor. Then we shared the Koobideh kebab, the murgh butter with chicken and the Malabar curry with shrimp. And a side of garlic naan bread. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!! It was truly excellent! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and interesting, with plenty to look at. The Persian page of the menu was interesting, but we went all in on the Indian food and didn't regret a bite. Everything was flavorful and rich with layered textures of flavor. The samosa appetizer was like no samosa you've ever eaten. I was craving Kebabs and when I searched on Google, this popped up. Now I am no stranger to the realm of kabobs, naan, Curry. It's all familiar and welcome. That said, I'm a little disappointed overall with my whole experience at kebab and Curry. When I entered I could hear voices in the back with no one at the front. There were two bells (??) in the front to hit for service but I was taking a moment to survey and decide if I really wanted to stay. The place was absolutely empty and it was dead quiet. While everything looked clean, it was a little off-putting how quiet it was. Out of the back comes a young lady in a head wrap who had obviously been cleaning. She said she would clean her hands before helping me and then came up to the register after she had done so. I told her I was in the mood for some kabobs and vegetables and rice. She recommended a dish that I wasn't familiar with and pulled up a tiny photo on her phone. She described it a bit and I told her that sounded good. She then asked if I wanted any bread and I told her I would like some roti if it was like roti Chennai. Where it comes with the curry for dipping. She smiled at me but didn't respond. I asked her again if it came with anything and she just told me the total. It was really weird. I asked her another question and she just avoided eye contact and walked away. It was very strange. I sat down at a table and she cooked the meal and brought it out to me. About halfway through my meal she brought me my rice. This was very random as she didn't explain that rice would be coming or that it would be a moment, it was very awkward. Another woman came from the back, smiled at me, but didn't say a word. Nobody checked up on me to ask how my meal was, and when I left no one said thank you or even acknowledged my existence. Let's talk about the food. I had what seemed very much like Pakistani chicken kebabs. They were small patties of ground up chicken with onion and spices. The flavor was excellent. They were a bit oily as they were pan fried and I was thankful that it was served with rice and vegetables. I was not a fan of the roti. I'm very used to having this with some type of Curry or something to dip it in. So overall, it was a little bit of an off-putting experience. The service was confusing and cold, I do wish they had pictures with the menu so I can see more clearly what their interpretation of the dishes were, and I wish the place wasn't dead silent. read more

I've tried many different kebabs across the c ountry and this is, in my opinion, the best kebab in town. The food is 10 stars, but the service is 0 stars, so it averages out to 5 stars. Came here after seeing this was real halal place with Pakistani style flavored which I've been wanting for such a long time. The place itself is nice and very clean. Given the construction taking place right outside their door it was easy to see why this place was empty. I asked the ladies working at the counter for goat curry and nana's. Not sure what time place there but they prices so was being charged were not what was shown on the menu. I pointed this out and the lady made some changes with increased the price for a goat curry and 2x naan for $40! After pointing to the items I was ordering and showing the lady what the prices were she eventually charged me the proper price. I thanked her paid the total and sat at an empty table. Shortly another woman came with my food and left. Nobody came back to see the food was or I'd I needed anything else (a glass of water perhaps) I finished my food which was very basic and simple fare then walked out of the place never to return to this place again. Simple put there is. I reason to come here when there are plenty of businesses in this city that actually value your business and create such a great experience that you want to help support them. So my husband & I decided to come back a second time but this time was very disappointing, I was greeted by a young lady and given a menu upon arrival but that was only service I got while waiting about 15-20 minutes before leaving.
