I love Indian food and am a big fan of Taj Palace. There are several locations around Las Vegas but I have only visited this location on Lake Mead and Rock Springs Dr (I-11/95). This wonderful place is located in a strip mall on the south side of the street. It's fairly big and often busy. I haven't yet had to wait for a table but it's been pretty full up on more than one occasion. The interior is pleasant but not fancy in any way. The tables are arranged in rows so it can feel a little bit like a cafeteria and, depending on the crowd, can get pretty loud. They offer a pretty substantial buffet with a lot of options many of which are vegetarian. I'm not much of a buffet person, but I have tried it and thought it was a solid offering. I would do it again because I like the variety a buffet offers. You can also order off of the menu and they have all of the standard favorites you'd come to expect including Tandoori options, Biryani, and Dosas. There is also a full bar. I've tried both meat and vegetarian dishes here and have been very pleased. Dishes can be made spicy and they usually give you a range between 1 and 10 so you can customize the spice to your desired level. The Tandoori options are wonderful. I often get the Shrimp Tandoori and find it really very delicious and there are a lot of shrimp for the price. The garlic naan is a favorite and recommended. The food is really good. I think, for me, what sets this place apart is the staff. The majority of the staff is outgoing and super friendly. They feel genuinely excited to have you dining with them and are quick to help with suggestions and answer questions. On my most recent visit I inquired about the curry leaves in my Dal Tadka and was treated to a short conversation about curry leaves and their health benefits. I'm the only one in my family that eats Indian food and can only get it few and far between. My friend suggested Taj Palace and brought me here and I was in heaven. We went during lunch hours during their Buffet service. I pretty much tried everything I could, I am allergic to carrots and probably should've asked first before going to town but I needed everything. The food was just the right amount of spicy, the garlic naan when fresh out is divine. The galab Jamun literally reminded me of my childhood. The mango lassi was also very good too. My favorite had to be the goat curry. We arrived at 1:15pm and it was fairly packed but after about 15-20minutes for the most part the early lunch crowd disappeared. This ended up being an unexpected enjoyable meal on our trip to Las Vegas. My wife is from India, so naturally she craves Indian food every now and then. As we had a rental car and didn't have to be stuck eating at the overpriced places on the strip, we figured we would try a locally popular establishment. This place had rave reviews, so we made the somewhat longish ride from our hotel to check it out. The room is small, but they make good use of it and the furnishings were comfortable. I was also pleased that in spite of the unbearable heat outside it was nice and cool in the seating area. We started with an order of lamb samosas, and we're surprised to find that they were a little spicier than we were accustomed to. Still very tasty, and we were glad we got them. I'm not brave enough to try anything else other than chicken tikka masala, so that's what I ordered here. I was very pleased when I told them mild that it actually came out mild. Some Indian restaurants seem incapable of making the food anything other than burn your mouth hot. About my only complaint was with the bread. I'm used to naan being fluffy, this was a little flat and lifeless. Overall though it was a very positive experience, and I would like to come back someday. read more

We had an amazing dinner at Taj Palace. It feels pretty rare to find a place with a full bar and cocktails AND delicious flavors. The portions are large and our server was happy to pass our compliments to the kitchen. I enjoyed a pina colada with my dinner. The spice levels are just right, a 6 chicken tikka masala made my nose run and 7 lamb saag made my ears pop (in the best way possible). This is the best vindaloo I've had in the U.S. -- and it's not even close. Taj Palace understands something a lot of Indian restaurants in the U.S. still don't: heat without balance is just noise. Their chicken vindaloo has the correct acidity, the correct color, and actual depth -- not the overly salty, muddled mess that passes for vindaloo elsewhere. The spice level was real, not performative. And even after the dish cooled, the flavor held together, which is the clearest sign the kitchen knows what it's doing. Next visit I'm asking for 14/10, not as a flex, but because this is a kitchen I actually trust to push heat without breaking the dish. Sweet lassi and papadum were exactly what they should be -- clean, balanced, no gimmicks. What really sealed it: I tried ordering masala chai late in the evening and was politely refused because fresh batches are made earlier in the day and they wouldn't serve something that wasn't at its best. That level of honesty and standards is rare -- and deeply appreciated. This place doesn't cook for people who want "Indian food vibes." I chose the butter pita but didn't like it, just naan dripping with butter on top. Next visit I'll stick to the Garlic naan. They always bring you bottled water and no charge. Amazing!!! To start with the conclusion: this restaurant will not disappoint you! What I appreciated most was the warm hospitality and attentive service. My mother has some digestive issues and doesn't tolerate spicy food well, so our server thoughtfully pointed out which dishes could be adjusted for spice level. They even waited until we had finished our appetizers before checking with the kitchen and confirming that the spice level for our entrées would be appropriate before proceeding with the order. I was genuinely impressed by how considerate and detail-oriented they were. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious--every dish was flavorful and satisfying. Interestingly, there weren't many people dining inside, but there was a constant stream of customers picking up takeout orders. I was really happy to see the restaurant doing so well. I traditionally don't like Indian food. It's just never really been my thing, but my wife loves it. I found Taj Palace on Facebook and, for whatever reason, the food in their video looked great, so we decided to try the lunch buffet. Service was excellent. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and took the time to explain the different dishes to us. The food was good overall, but the tandoori chicken was easily the highlight for me--A+. I loved it with the naan, yogurt sauce, cucumber, and rice. The chicken tikka was a little dry, although I'm not sure I can entirely blame the restaurant. The guy in front of me at the buffet basically cleaned them out, piling two plates with chicken and leaving behind mostly sauce and scraps. Watching him hover over the buffet sweating and eyeballing everything also didn't exactly enhance the dining experience. The mango custard was great and a perfect way to finish. Considering this is probably the first Indian food experience I've genuinely enjoyed, that says a lot. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Came in for our friend's birthday dinner. We were sat very quickly when we arrived even though the rest of our party was arriving staggered. Since our friend wanted it low key we didn't really take pictures but the flow of service was quick, from getting our appetizers, to entrees and dessert. Our server (I'm horrible at remembering his name) was very friendly and checked in on our party from start to finish. He was very attentive. Our friends were talking about their experience with her food outing with her child, niece and nephew that had mango desserts, and he was very attentive and let us sample their mango custard which I've never had ever in all my times going to Indian restaurants all these years. I first visited this restaurant about two weeks ago. It was excellent so I went back two days ago just to see if there was/is consistency. Not only was the food excellent again...the buffet was slightly different in that there were different choices. There were the staple Indian dishes with just enough difference that the experience was new. The service was outstanding and immediate upon entrance into the restaurant. The server Satish was very courteous and polite. Directly after I started after getting my food an person whom I learned was/is the manager came over to check on me by asking how my s the food and the taste and was it prepared to satisfaction. The manager, Selestim seemed genuine when he spoke. Although he was not pushy or overbearing his presence was evident without being intrusive. The restaurant had a warm ambiance and was impeccably clean. The food was very well prepared and very tasty with the perfect spice level. There is another Indian restaurant that I would drive across town to visit. Well, because of Taj Palace I no longer must go out of my way to get great food...with excellent variety cooked to perfection. The fruits and vegetables were freshly cut and chosen well. High-quality food and service despite that I've opted for their lunch buffet! First off, you start off with ordering your Naan bread, which you can chose plain, garlic, or spicy, 5/5 stars! The tandoori chicken, chutneys, various curries, including all of the vegetarian dishes were toothsome from the spices (turmeric, cumin, coriander, cardamom, ginger, chili powder, etc.), 5/5 stars! You can easily perceive that the ingredients and cooking techniques are of high-quality once the food hits your palate. I've also ordered the mango lassi because it is always refreshing, especially with spicy foods. It's a yogurt based drink that is creamy and mixed with sweet mango. This magnificent beverage is not included with the buffet; however, it is a must get while having Indian cuisine or even as a dessert. Our server, Ameet, was incredible too. He was friendly and assured that we had everything that we needed for an excellent lunch. He also noticed that I had the spicy chutney and chili sauce from the buffet, and suggested that I get the spicy Naan next time, which I haven't heard of before. The samosas were delicious, the chutney sauce was fresh and had the perfect amount of spice- while the tamarind sauce complemented it with the perfect amount of sweetness. The saag paneer was creamy and had a generous amount of cheese, which I very much appreciate. On the flip side the saag had more chopped onions than I'm used to (which is totally fine) but not enough flavor, plus it was a little on the salty side. And while the samosas were bomb, they definitely needed more filling. With that said, overall it was good and I would order from here again. read more

We had such a memorable experience at Taj Palace, thanks especially to our server, Satish. He was incredibly patient while explaining the menu and spice levels to my very curious yet picky mom. As soon as the egg dosa arrived, we were completely enchanted and honestly forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food. That says everything! My parents absolutely love the aroma of Indian cuisine, but the heat is usually something they can't handle. Satish was so attentive and made sure everything was not spicy at all, even at level 1. Yes, my parents are that sensitive. I would recommend to choose level 1 if you know you are sensitive to the heat. Don't go above level 3. You will DEFINITELY get the aroma and special flavors without the heat. The food was amazing. I can't speak to authenticity since I'm not Indian and haven't been to India, but as someone from the Middle East, I really appreciate the balance and depth of spices. I was super excited to try Taj Palace in Henderson but honestly left disappointed. I ordered the chicken tandoori, goat karahi, and cheese naan. The cheese naan came out undercooked and soggy which threw me off right away. The goat karahi was much thicker than the usual karahi I've had and the goat itself was a bit overcooked. The chicken tandoori was way too salty for my taste. Service was just okay. What surprised me was when we asked for tap water, they were going to charge us for bottled water instead. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken samosas (which were buy one, get one on Uber Eats), and cheese garlic naan. Let me tell you... the food was solidly mediocre. Everything sat in our stomachs like a rock. The naan was more like a thick, heavy pita bread rather than light, fluffy, airy naan you dip into curry sauce. The samosas were equally bad. Instead of pieces of chicken and texture, they were filled with some kind of mystery paste. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but I honestly don't understand the hype. Naan & Curry is far superior, and Rumi Room (which also does Persian food) is another great option if you're looking for flavorful, well-executed Indian /Pakistani food. read more
