The pistachio baklava was EXCELLENT! Rich, tasty, crispy yet not giving leaving you with that heavy feeling. The almond baklava and the Melamakarona were good but IMO the pistachio Baklava was the absolute highlight. Their food is for next time as it looked pretty good. My favorite in the world (for context, I was in NYC just a few weeks ago where I tried several from popular places). The sesame bagels here are slightly sweet on the outside with a rich, umami roasted sesame flavor from the seeds and wood firing. I recommend buying a tub of cream cheese or whatever other supplies you'd like from the cooler to make your own sandwich or to dip your bagel. Of course, they're great on their own, but a little chive cream cheese really brings it to the next level. I always stock up during each trip to Montreal and bring some to friends and family back home and everyone always looks forward to that!

We ate at the bar and chatted up the staff -- the counter clerk is the owners sister, the Hot Cars on the wall are the owners. (Why did my kids throw away their Hot Cars?) Without the check I can't remember which sandwiches we had except to say that they've taken the traditional banh mi, added a far amount of cool fusion to them, and produced a very tasty sandwich. More fillings than the traditional banh mi. And better baguette. (The traditional bread is softer. I can't swear t it but a Vietnamese banh mi shop owner explained to me that because of the climate in Vietnam the baguette is softer than what we're used to in Canada and the US.) The menu was presented and our server offered to build us a tasting menu with some of the house favorites. Everything was delicious and full of flavors that we hadn't experienced in our few days in Montreal. We asked for wine recommendations since the owner has a separate license for imports, and we were able to try a few which we would not have tried otherwise.
