After enjoying Baba Ghannouj Mediterranean Bistro in Cary last week, my girl & I decided to explore another kebab/gyro restaurant in Cary, so we went to Kebab Skewer & dined in on a Saturday night. This is located close to Milklab, which I also reviewed here on Yelp. My girl ordered a gyro wrap, then the young adult cashier asked if we wanted to add fries & drink for additional $3+. She asked if she can swap the fries for another side: baba ghannouj, our favorite Mediterranean side dish, and the cashier said she can. The menu overhead is clear, so we didn't have trouble deciding what to order. I ordered the Kebab Platter - Double Skewer that comes with salad, rice, a tiny cup of tzatziki, a tiny cup of salad dressing, and pita bread. Platter costs $15.99 + additional $1.99 because I chose lamb kebab. We also ordered the 4-piece falafel & a lamb kofta skewer. Total cost was about $50+. As always, we tried each other's foods, split the falafel & lamb kofta. The lamb gyro wrap was delicious with fresh meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce. The few bites I had of the gyro were pure bliss; part of me wish I ordered a gyro wrap too, but I wanted us to have different orders. The baba ghannouj that came with her gyro was excellent unlike what we tried from Baba Ghannouj Mediterranean Bistro (BGM Bistro). The texture of the mashed eggplant and mix of spices were perfect, and the amount was good enough for the 2 of us to share. I also enjoyed my double skewer lamb kebab platter. The salad was fresh, the basmati rice wasn't as sopisticated as other spiced varieties but it went well with the lamb kebab, fresh from the grill. However, for an $18+ meal, wish it included another small side like baba ghannouj. BGM Bistro's platters let you choose 2 sides along with the rice and salad for about the same price, so you get more value there but the baba ghannouj tastes better here. Falafel is a good-tasting side, about the same quality as BGM Bistro's. It comes with tahini sauce. The lamb kofta skewer, which looks like a sausage, was well-spiced and went well with tzatziki. Our orders were served in less than 12 min, and we had to pick up our trays at the front when they were ready instead of bringing to our table. It looks like this is the kind of place that's better for take out than dine in as the ambiance isn't inviting. There was one area where the floor was left uncleaned and the dull illumination of the fluorescent lights inside doesn't make this restaurant ideal for a romantic date. We were somewhat satisfied with our dinner with the gyro and baba ghannouj being the highlights. Lamb kebab & lamb kofta tasted good but I don't think the whole platter is worth $18+. We might alternate BGM Bistro & this as each has their own pros & cons. Or we might explore another we haven't tried before.

Yum, just yum! I'm happy I've finally made my way to Kebab Skewer, and I'm sorry it took me this long to check it out. This place has got some tasty eats and I'm destined to go back and check out more menu items. For lunch. I grabbed a spicy chicken shawarma wrap, plus the two desserts pictured: homemade ma'amoul and baklava. Delicious! And very inexpensive compared to other restaurants (albeit, the baklava is on the smaller side). The spicy shawarma wrap was moist and consistently flavorful throughout. The bread was tasty and the ratio of ingredients was spot on. The deserts were crumbly (ma'amoul) and flaky (baklava), and sweet. The restaurant itself is a basic spot in a strip mall, geared more towards takeout. Lots of takeout ready for pickup when I was there around noon. The staff was super friendly and inviting, creating a great atmosphere.

Was here for lunch on a weekday . You order at the counter. The menu is overhead and easy to read. You go back to the counter to get your order. There are 8 tables inside and one outside. You will have to pull tables together if there are more than 4 people in your group. I chose the gyro platter. The meat was seasoned well and put on a grill before serving but was not dried out. It was served over a huge portion of basmati rice that was done perfectly. A salad of fresh lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions was on the side with an unusual dressing and a piece of pita bread that was nice and warm. There was a small cup of taziki that was good. Only bottled tea, so I had water. The tables were clean and the decor was middle eastern. Price was good, so I will be back to try a kabob next time.

Great food, good prices. The wait to get our order seemed way too long and we were the only ones in the resturaunt. It was pretty quiet and my friend and I were able to talk without having to fight over other voices. However the food is delicious here so the wait didn't bother me too much and I was not in a hurry. The bathrooms really needed cleaning. There was no toilet paper.

We had a craving for some Mediterranean food and decided to check out a kebab place we hadn't been to yet. I got the Chicken kabob platter which comes with rice, yogurt sauce, a side salad and pita bread. The chicken was very moist and had a good flavor to it. The hubs ordered the beef Koobideh platter. It came with the same sides as mine. He felt that it was just...meh as it really had no flavor. He said that it might as well have been rolled meatloaf for all he knew. Needless to say, he has definitely had much better. We both agreed that the rice was not like any we have had at other Mediterranean restaurants. Neither of us could really put our finger on what was so different about it. The pita bread was very bland and tasted like it was store bought. It wasn't a horrible meal but it also wasn't the best meal we have had.

I'm a harsh critic so four stars is very good from me. I like this place a lot. They don't really have a large variety of sides, but the meat is very tasty and cooked properly. The staff is also really nice. After giving up on a mediterranean place a while back, where I used to get my kabobs, I tried this out and now we go here about once a week. read more

First off if you dine in they have complimentary hot tea. Big plus and it's delicious. I tried the chicken kebab/falafel platter. The chicken was tasty and juicy, I really liked the falafel as well but the chicken was next level. The service was quick and friendly and the price was on point. For dessert I had the rice pudding and tea. Really enjoyable enjoyed l experience, if I'm in the Apex area again I would surely go back read more

My family and I needed to host a 16 person dinner last minute and Kebab Skewer graciously agreed and gave us the most amazing family style dinner. Everything was hot off the grill, the bread was fresh and warm, the fatoush, baba ghanoush, hummus were to die for and the service was excellent. My son and I came all the way from N Raleigh to check this place out. I was looking for a good healthy food on a Friday night without the long wait. Found a perfect place. Their generous chicken tawook platter was perfect with the tender meat moist and tasty dipped in garlic sauce and salad with a one of kind citrusy dressing. The salad was fresh. Most of all, the owner Sharif was just welcoming and pleasant. I know where to come next time i'm in the area. read more

This place has delicious fresh food. The hubs and I have tried all the meats but the gyro and spicy chicken shawarma are the favorites. We usually order a vegetarian platter that has THE BEST baba ghanoush and grape leaves included, as well as a kebab platter or a wrap. Everything we have ordered here has been fantastic and the guys who run it are always very friendly. read more

Kebab Skewer is an awesome small family restaurant with great, friendly staff. The food is very fresh and tasty. My husband said his giant gyro wrap was excellent and he'd definitely come back for that. The fries were nice, golden and crispy! I got the beef kebab which was a tiny bit over cooked but next time I'll know to request medium well. It still was delicious with the perfectly cooked rice and salad. Baklava also yummy as well. My dad and I eat dinner up in the Cary area almost every Saturday after church. We found this place - I'd had it bookmarked for some time - and just loved the food. We tried three kabobs along with the hummus. The place was cozy, and the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. Great value for the money, and they make their own bread. We will be back - and we encourage you to go find this place. I know that shopping center isn't very heavily traveled, so it can slip your mind that this place is here. We know it's here now, and we'll be back. read more

What a lovely meal we had!! I had the gyro and my husband had the kofta kabob on a Greek salad. My gyro was so very tasty and I am very picky. Their home made pita was exceptionally good. The salad was very fresh and meat was so good. Only one suggestion - add kalamata olives to the Greek salad instead of black olives. Other than that a wonderful meal. Tried this new place tonight and we'll definitely go back. The kebabs here are tasty--we tried the chicken, beef and lamb. The sandwich with kebab meat was a good size for the price and filled up my always hungry 12 year old! What made it even better was the warm reception we received from the owner and employees. Love having this little gem in our neighborhood! read more

The beef koobideh and salad were very disappointing. Go to Flame Kabob instead. Their koobideh is so soft that it's easy to break. The chicken kebab was good and I might get that again but nothing else. read more

I've ordered from here a couple of times and was so satisfied with the taste and quality that I returned today. Disappointed, because there are black olives in place of Kalamata olives. It's the whole point of getting a Greek salad IMO, I LOVE Kalamata olives. Also there's a lot of ice berg lettuce this time, which maybe they were just running low on spring mix? Easy to miss Kebab Skewer look for Lowe's foods shopping center at Cary parkway & Tryon rd corner . Very clean place & friendly staff. Kebabs r amazing I tried the Shish Tawook , Beef & chicken Koobideh (Persian ) . The ckn shawermah is a must try very delicious. Made with fresh baked break upon order. Humus & homemade Kibeh is super tasty ... Now they offer complementary hot tea too. I saw they offer Keema (spicy ground beef ) I tried it last week it was great . . This is a relatively new, small, very clean and comfortable mediterranean restaurant. The cooks and owners ensure you are happy with their food and continue to ask as you eat. After our first, very happy take out a week ago we returned for a dinner at the restaurant. We had homemade, to order, bread- light and delicious pita like flat bread...warm! I asked to have a greek side salad instead of a garden salad..no problem! I had the lamb and beef tenderloin kebab with rice and salad....fresh, hot and tender! And delicious! For anyone looking for a nice, fresh, hot meal or sandwich, cooked to order at fair price, this is the place. So happy to find this awesome Persian restaurant in Cary! We keep coming back for the fresh flavors and yummy kebabs. The koobideh kebabs (both chicken and beef) are really savory and delicious, salads are crunchy and fresh, and yogurt sauce is nice and tangy. My husband said the desserts were a little sweet but they are supposed to be so I ignored him but be prepared for that. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would definitely give it another try. They moved, and we were genuinely upset, because they were SO CLOSE to us. Yesterday, we had to drive half an hour to get there, but, again, it did not disappoint. The wings NEVER disappoint. The brisket sando was so good, and you never need BBQ sauce. It's moist, it can be messy, and the taste is always on point.

Not only they stopped serving lettuce wrap (sure, they have it in the menu but they didn't stock it because their lettuce supplier increased the price or whatever), they did not offer any other wrap options like a decent kbbq should have (rice wrap, radish wrap, or shisho leave...etc). The meat quality? It's the cheapest cut you could ever get. The kalbi cut is so thin and tasted old (spoiler alert, they should be thicker and higher quality..), the other unseasoned meat cut is lower quality too. The seasoned meat were so bad I had hard time enjoying it. The bulgogi did not taste like a propee bulgogi and once again, tasted old like it has been in the fridge for too long. The spicy bulgogi was so grainy and not spicy at all, almost like they're using low quality gochugaru. Honestly, you will be much better off buying your own ingredients at h-mart or any asian grocery than going to this place. The only saving grace was the kind server who tends us often. 10/10 will not recommend.

Honestly, one of the best kebabs places in Cary. (And there is very few). I've tried Kebab Skewer before and the food and customer service never lets me down, but after Friday's service, I can say I'm very impressed. The couple who works there (samah and ahmad? I wrote their names down) are very wonderful and kind. When it comes to their teamwork, their customer service was incredibly wonderful! They were so patient and kind to me and my group, that my friends and their wives raved about them even after we left! Samah (their first and only female cashier) has wonderful customer presence and had every customers order right and on time. She knew the menu incredibly well and explained the meats and the skewers very clearly and double checked our order to make sure everything was right, and even made sure we continued to receive fresh bread. Add on top of that her significant other, and the both of them really made the experience even better! The owners did really well in hiring this couple! The food was great quality and extremely fresh, and not too much of a wait at all! Definitely will come back for these two and the INCREDIBLE FOOD!
