She escorted us over to a table with a marvelous view of the vineyards. Maria was our wonderful and charming server. She came over with a complementary glass of their wonderful rosé wine. I'm not a rosé drinker, but it was delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful flight of wines. Our favorite was their '23 Double Fall Line $32. It has a marvelous smooth blend of Cab Franc, Merlot and Blaufränkisch (Austrian Blue) Grapes. Two bottles came home later. : ) Of course, we had to indulge in some wonderful lobster rolls. Each lobster roll was $23, plus for an extra $9 you get a nice dollop of caviar to top it off ! The lobster was from a company called Oyster Party in the NY area. I think the lobster rolls were some of the best I ever had. Just a couple of notes: - It appears the hill leading up to the vineyard was recently paved. The host was very helpful and knowledgeable about all aspects of the distillation process. We left feeling like we received a free history lesson. We were also given a quick tour of the facility, which was very kind. We spent a little over an hour on location, but we easily could have spent longer. Prices were reasonable, both for the tastings and the bottles. There were multiple sized bottles, and a huge range of options. Both of the owners were very kind, patient, and accommodating of an exchange after the fact. We did not sample the wine, but will next time. Outside there are seats and tables, with shade, for tastings, as well as some picnic tables down by the lake. We came in early June, so it wasn't too hot. I suggest starting early in the day if you're going to attempt to hit every winery in 1 trip - they are pretty spread out.

We visited 4 wineries, Palaia, Applewood, Demarest and Clearview. Palaia and Clearview both honored the passport by providing wine tasting. Applewood and Demarest refused the passport and would not honor the wine tasting that was paid for. I am reluctant to visit any more of the wineries being that 50% did not honor the passport. Very disappointing and ruined a perfectly good afternoon.

What I am saying is that Joe the owner knows his stuff and his wine. I have trusted his recommendations and have never been let down. Whenever you go to buy a bottle of wine you can find liquid to drink for $5 bucks and WINE for $75.00. But at The Wine Store you can ask about a price range and a wine style or type without feeling that you are going to get what they are trying to sell. He honestly has paired my tastes and budget and that is why I keep going back. I've discovered many new wine at his recommendation and he continues to amaze me. I also like to test him.
