I went here because the menu states that the French Dip can be cooked to order. I ordered it medium rare and the waitress immediately informed me that they can't cook it to order. If you want just a regular well done roast beef French Dip for $20 you can get anywhere then you will be happy. It was our first time at Keegan's Grill, but it won't be our last. The restaurant was pretty full, but we were so able to get a table right away. It really looks like the kind of place where the neighborhood locals gather. By the time we left every seat was taken at the bar. I will say it looked like a little bit older crowd, but we're part of that crowd so it was great. The first thing I noticed was a bright mural on one of the walls. I really liked it! There's a bar with seating on two sides, some tables along the wall with the mural, and then a main dining area on the other side of the bar. There are some raised booths along the middle, and the booths along the wall are regular booths. There's kind of a basket weave metal ceiling, which is pretty cool. We had a lovely server. She was so nice and very helpful. There's quite a selection on the menu, and an equally large menu of specials. Everything sounded so good and it was hard to choose. On top of it all the prices are pretty amazing. We both ordered Huckleberry Margaritas, which were delicious. For an appetizer we chose the Pale Ale Schreiner's Chorizo Queso dip. It's was delicious with corn and flour tortilla chips. Oh--those house made flour tortilla chips--yum!! Hubby ordered the grilled salmon with brown rice and quinoa pilaf and veggies. His salmon portion was huge! I ordered one of specials of the day, lobster tail and a petite filet served with cheesy potatoes and veggies. It was all very good, and again such big portions and reasonable prices! Keegan's Grill will become a regular place for us I'm sure. read more

This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had, and it had nothing to do with the food. The food was very good, and our server was excellent. Unfortunately, the manager completely ruined what should have been a meaningful evening for our family. We were a family of four (two adults and two children) having an early dinner around 5:00 p.m. We chose this restaurant because it was our father's favorite. He passed away five years ago next week, and we wanted to spend time together at a place that holds special memories for our family. As we got up to leave, an older couple actually started clapping at us. When I asked what the problem was, they told us we were "too loud." We were shocked that adults would behave that way toward another family. We sat back down to finish our dessert, expecting the situation to be handled professionally. Instead, the manager defended the couple's behavior rather than addressing it or listening to our side. He refused to speak with me directly. Instead, he waited for my husband to come out of the restroom and stopped him at the end of the ramp before he returned to our table to continue the conversation. That was completely inappropriate and made an already uncomfortable situation even worse. We weren't yelling, causing a scene, or behaving disrespectfully. We were simply a family with two children enjoying dinner at 5:00 in the afternoon. Children make noise, and if another customer has an issue with that, management should handle it professionally--not validate rude behavior from other guests. What should have been a special evening remembering our dad became a memory of being embarrassed and made to feel unwelcome. While the food and our server were great, leadership sets the tone for a restaurant, and the manager failed completely. We left feeling disrespected and will never return. Disappointed beyond words. I ordered a burger with cheese, but it arrived without cheese and was overcooked. The server brought out a slice of cheese instead of taking the plate back to have the cheese melted onto the burger. Who wants cheese that's room temperature on a burger? Cheese on a burger should be melted. Plus, I did not ask for Swiss cheese. For my side, I ordered coleslaw. I told the server no onions because I have a food allergy. We visited Keegan's in Phoenix and were honestly shocked at the pricing. We ordered the chicken wings, and at $15.95 for six wings--about $2.50 per wing--it just felt astronomical. I realize prices are going up everywhere, but really? That's pushing it for a basic order of wings. We also ordered a burger, which was pretty good and better value than the wings, but overall the experience didn't match the price point. Came to Keegan's to watch the Suns game and enjoy some happy hour eats, and it did not disappoint! To start, there are tvs surrounding the bar and they do release the game sounds throughout the restaurant (not loudly, but enough for you to hear what is going on) so that is a huge plus. Also, the food overall was good! We had the ribs and spinach and artichoke dip, and we would definitely order both again. The ribs in particular were a little small, however they were fall off the bone tender so they were worth it. The service we had at the bar was also great! You can tell there are a lot of regulars who come by, as the bartender greeted a bunch of people by name and knew their orders without them having to say much so that personal touch is really nice to see. This morning we went for brunch. We sat in the bar area and there was a man sitting at the bar. He looked pretty scruffy and only asked for ice water and I saw him pull this little bottle out of his pant pocket and pour it into the water so it was definitely booze. What a lovely surprise! We parked in the same lot to go to another restaurant, but decided to try Keegans for a change. This charming pub has a reasonably priced menu, with great variety. The service is prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. The seating is comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere. We loved our lunches. We've eaten at Keegan's a bagillion times over the years. Our expectations were always met. Good food, pleasant surroundings and efficient wait staff. Can't beat that recipe for success !!! We ate at the restaurant this past weekend, and while we didn't comment on our disappointment in the 2 dishes we ordered- Caliban salad and Roast chicken. My husband's chicken was rubbery and dry to a crisp. My salad,that I order frequently was insulting. Usually the romaine is crisp large pieces of greens, and each vegetable is large and fresh as a daisy. This night the plate arrives looking like it had already been chewed with a few scattered pieces of steak thrown on top. I understand completely the stress restaurants are experiencing- we are all in this government mess together. But there has to be another way to offset your bottom line without turning off your patrons. Please reconsider some of your cost cutting on your menu. It is very noticeable and makes for a very unpleasant dining experience, especially if one has happily dined at Keegan's before and is expecting the same level of quality in food and service. read more

We have not been here in several years and got an invitation to visit with a rack of rib special. Keegans has been a staple for over 20 years but the menu has not changed. The flavors are old with no imagination. It is like they are stuck in a time warp. It is a safe place to take your mom, grandparents or young kids. The food was good but not memorable. We ordered the rack of ribs, fries, firecracker shrimp and hatch chili mac and cheese. The ribs were tender and not grisly, the fries were decent, firecracker shrimp was fair. The green chili mac and cheese was a macaroni salad with a cheese sauce and green peppers. It was not very good. The staff was warm and friendly but not customer centered. They must keep the drink glasses filled, stop by the tables and ask them if they need anything and smile. We don't want to bust them, however, you need a new menu, try new combination and bolder flavors. For the past 15 years it has not changed. The prices are reasonable. They are playing it safe and are a local watering hole but not a go-to in the competative Camelback corridor. Unfortunately, I was reminded why we don't frequent their establishment. read more

Everyone there is very friendly, our waitress was amazing and we even got to meet the owner who was very friendly and took time to have a chat with us.
