Cornbeef hash with eggs over easy and tomato slices instead of country potatoes or hash browns and sourdough toast and cup of coffee.

Stopping here before they close. Their hours are 7:00 to 3:00 pm. All the food is great tasting. They have lots of indoor seating and outdoor seating as well and plenty of shade trees. If you eat outside you can either watch the Kern County Fire Department helicopters takeoff or land or you can watch the trains or the traffic go by. This place also has a large selection of beer and they have mixed drinks as well. They have plenty of breakfast items and plenty of lunch or early dinner options. I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Wonderful old school diner with lots of history. Food is good and staff is friendly. I recommend the omelettes.

Best staff there and great service. Staff is always in a great mood and go above and beyond for their customers. I love this place and love that's it's right between Tehachapi and Bakersfield so great to stop in for a quick bite.

This place really is an area gemstone, and so lucky to have such a fine establishment at this location. The food is really good here and the staff was very friendly and courteous and attentive and I hear a lot of laughter in the café and people having a good time it's clean and I would love to eat here again.

I have driven past this cafe for many years and always wondered how it was. Well finally took a trip to find out! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived after breakfast hours but they still honored breakfast. The Cowboy Benedict was definitely a good choice. The Gravy was the highlight of this dish. The Ground Beef Taco was good but odd. It was half of a hamburger patty in the taco. It wasn't bad, just different. The shell was perfectly cooked and the produce was fresh. The salsa was fresh too! The pancakes had a great flavor just Kinda stiff maybe because they were a little dry. The butter really helped as you can see! Overall would definitely recommend to stop if you are in the area.

They enjoy eating here and usually have no problem. It took a good 20 minutes before our server took our drink order, and even longer to take our dinner order. We all three ordered because I changed my mind and decided I wanted a club sandwich, I also ordered a salad and so did my friend. We never got them until our meal arrived, and even then one was forgotten. When one of my friends received her order it was the wrong one. She ordered a chicken sandwich, not a burger. The burger that did come was burnt; luckily that is not what she ordered. We had to ask for refills as our server was walking by. She never once came to our table to see if we were doing OK. My friend said this was definitely an off night for this place. 12/23/25

The salad are also one of my favorites because as you know, im a ranch snob. The ranch here is fantastic! Don't let the old town vibe/appearance fool you... this place is always cleaned up when I visit. Did you say pie? Ya they have that too! Service can sometimes be a little slow, but your in a small town. So sit back, take your time, and enjoy! Breakfast is a staple here and the pancakes are so yummy! Today im having salad and fries. So good!! My friend had the beef dip and it was also delicious. Definitely try!

The Chile Verde has shrunk in both size flavor and increased in price. It is simply not the same it is too mild; if you want it more spicy they have an up charge, which is nuts. The tacos were extra greasy and the enchilada sauce was bland. Even the two salsas are literally like nearly tasteless. According to the waiter, the owners like it watered down because they think the community doesn't appreciate spicy foods. This is insane. Tonight, I thought things couldn't get worse, but of course I was wrong as another server, not the waiter brought the meals and literally knocked a full glass of water across the table, soaking me and my partner. Other than bring us extra napkins there was no other comps. The place seemed slower than normal for a Saturday night, so maybe the town is noticing the same thing we are. The bathrooms are disgusting. I hope they fix this stuff because it has really given us pause about even coming back.
